Book Update

It's been a year since I've posted anything for this book. With the new job, studying for all my licenses, and spending time with my family, I didn't have much time for writing. I was constantly thinking about where I wanted to take this story and if I was actually happy with where I was. I had started this book once before, got 25 chapters into it, and hated where it was. I wrote myself into a hole and I didn't want to just fix it, but start over.

So this version that y'all have read thus far, is the rewrite to that. I cleaned up a lot, fixed plot holes, and trimmed what I was trying to achieve. Unfortunately, I didn't like it either. I'm very much longer winded, and I found that taking 10 chapters to jump into a story was too much. I was annoyed with how it was void of any actual trouble or conflict. I wanted to tie a sense of duty to the drive, but it was just too clean. I didn't like how the powers came to be and the way some of the stuff worked. I kept finding too many plot holes that I could mostly explain, but not enough to not be that Leonardo DiCaprio meme whistling and pointing at the blatant plot hole.

This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version.

So about two months ago, I started the outline for what I wanted in a book. I completely started from scratch, save for the characters. I redid the way I had the skills and all that fun stuff. Chapter 1 is less than 1k words and jumps you into the unknown at the beginning of chapter 2. I have stopped, reflected, and really like where this story is going, construction of the world and the pacing and tone of it all. I'm just writing for myself. I really hope you all enjoy it as well. If you read The Tree of Life and got to this point, leave a comment here and let me know what you would like to see return. If you liked this book, check out the new and improved book called Bio Life. Coming soon to a theater near you, or something like that.
