Chapter Seven: The Snare
Han Jin thought that by deliberately dragging the man down, the other party would not give him a good face to look at. However, the big Han's performance was somewhat strange, always following calmly behind him and Stilberg, as if he didn't know what kind of burden he was carrying.
The lights of the bar are already in sight, and even the noise from inside can be heard. Han Jin stopped in his tracks, turned around, and stretched out his hand to the big man: "Let me introduce myself, my name is Raphael, a degenerate who has ruined the family business, an incompetent hereditary baron."
That big man was surprised when he first heard this self-introduction full of self-deprecation, and then also stretched out his hand: "I'm Mosinke, a high-ranking swordsman."
"Good heavens..." Stilberg's eyes widened, his memory hadn't gone haywire, so he clearly remembered what a high-ranking swordsman meant. The lowest level of professionals were warriors, divided into upper and lower ranks, followed by martial artists, and after becoming a high-ranking martial artist, one would face a choice: to become a swordsman or a knight. A high-ranking swordsman's promotion was that of a fighter, and fighters absolutely belonged to the high-level professions! If the professionals on the continent were divided into ten levels, high-ranking swordsmen belonged to the sixth level. Ladontown was just a small town, and even if a high-ranking martial artist appeared, it would already be enough to cause a stir, let alone a high-ranking swordsman standing before them!
It was unexpected that Han Jin, who had a very vague attitude towards the profession, reacted more strongly than Steilberg. His lips turned white, and his cheek muscles were tense, Mo Xingke could clearly feel Han Jin's palms trembling violently.
The reason was simple: Han Jin was extremely sensitive to energy, and with his hands clasped together, he quickly sensed the explosive energy hidden within Mo Xinko's body. That energy was so enormous that it had already broken through the basic unit of yuan, amounting to several thousand jia or even nearly ten thousand. Further still, it reached the realm of xuan. And yet one yuan was only equivalent to one jia; the gap between him and his opponent was too great. Even at the peak of his power in that world, he couldn't compare to the swordsman before him.
"Master Raphael, what's wrong?" Mosenko hastily released his hand, thinking that his own strength was too great and had hurt Han Jin.
"It's nothing, just thinking of some things, sorry." Han Jin said with a smile: "There is something that needs your help, when we meet the dwarf later, can you cooperate with me?"
"What do I need to do?"
"You don't need to do anything, just stand behind me."
Mo Xinkeluo thought for a moment, then smiled foolishly and nodded: "Good."
It stands to reason that Han Jin shouldn't have made such a request, as there was no relationship between the two parties. However, Mo Xunke was able to agree because of Han Jin's appearance, temperament, tone, and smile, which all played a certain role, even if it can't be said that someone likes someone at first sight, but at least it doesn't make people dislike each other.
As he walked into the bar, there weren't many customers inside, which was normal since Ladong Town was just a small town. Han Jin immediately spotted a stout guy with a height of over 1 meter sitting in front of the counter, loudly saying something while the bartender listened intently with a smile on her face.
Han Jin walked over slowly and stood beside the dwarf, saying in a low voice: "Excuse me for disturbing you, may I ask if you are Master Villar?" As Han Jin spoke, he took stock of Villar, who was clearly not fond of personal hygiene. From the side, he could see the earwax in Villar's earholes, and his extremely mismatched beard, which had some breadcrumbs stuck to it. He wore a suit of leather armor that was very worn out, and a strange smell wafted from him, a mix of alcohol and sweat that was extremely pungent. His boots were even more tattered than the armor, with one shoehead broken and revealing dirty toes.
Han Jin clearly understood that the plan's feasibility had greatly increased. Before leaving, he carefully inquired about Villar's situation from Miss Kaili. Miss Kaili brought Villar from Holy Crown City to Ladontown, and just two days after opening his weapon shop, Villar suddenly made an unreasonable request, meaning he hadn't received any salary yet. Moreover, Villar had already spent all his personal savings, and his temper was too violent. In Holy Crown City, due to a small conflict, he fought and injured a noble. If Miss Kaili hadn't lent him some money, Villar would have been imprisoned long ago.
"Scram, don't bother me!" Villar didn't even look at Han Jin, waving his hand impatiently as if shooing away a fly.
Moxinke let out a cold snort and took half a step forward. Vilar suddenly turned around, his gaze sweeping from Moxinke's giant sword on his shoulder to the emblem on his chest before reluctantly putting down his wine cup and opening his mouth to say: "This... young master, you're looking for me?"
"I need you to make a set of armor for me, it's urgent, as for the price... I won't cheat you." Han Jin said calmly. The wine cup in Vilar's hand had been empty for a long time, and he couldn't bear to put down the empty cup, indicating that he still wanted to drink. Various characteristics showed that Vilar was now in a very difficult situation. Of course, the person behind him who was manipulating him had given him some money, otherwise Vilar wouldn't have had enough money to open a shop. However, that amount of money wasn't a lot, and after renting a shop and spending lavishly on food and drink for several days, it should be almost used up.
"I don't have time, go find someone else." Villar bluntly refused.
"I'll give you just one set of ordinary armor, five gold coins." A set of ordinary armor is worth at most one or two gold coins, and Han Jin's offer was already very high.
"Didn't you hear? I said, I don't have time!" Villar slammed his hand on the table and shouted. Just now, he saw that the big mercenary was not easy to mess with, so Villar had no choice but to humor Han Jin for a few sentences. Seeing Han Jin wouldn't let go, his temper flared up again.
"Ten gold coins, can't go any higher." Han Jin smiled: "I have no other choice, I must get the armor I want before dawn, so I gave you a price that will absolutely satisfy you, and I hope you can also satisfy me." There was a hint of threat in Han Jin's words, but his wording was just right, avoiding making people feel uncomfortable.
"Wow... ten gold coins......" The bartender girl let out a low sigh.
Villar looked at the bar girl, then at Han Jin. With his temperament, he didn't want to do anything now, just wanted to drink, but the price offered by the other party was indeed very tempting, and Villar showed a hesitant expression.
"I don't know what you're still hesitating about." Han Jin's face was full of friendliness: "I heard that you are a qualified forging master, and with just one night, or even half a night, you can earn ten gold coins. If it were in Holy Crown City, this would be the price of a magical armor set."
Villar stroked his beard for half a day, then jumped down from the chair and said in a low voice: "Follow me."
Han Jin smiled and followed Villar at a slow pace, when the bartender girl suddenly shouted: "Hey... Mr. Villar, you haven't paid for your drinks yet!"
"What are you yelling about! Are you afraid I won't pay the bill?!" Villar's mustache was standing on end as he turned around and bellowed, his voice so loud that it even shook the wine bottles on the cabinet. After he finished shouting, Villar's eyes shifted towards Han Jin, the implication clear: "I've just found a big business opportunity, what's the worry about not having money?"
Han Jin suddenly remembered that Kaili had introduced him before, Villar was a high-ranking combat dwarf. Although his strength may not be as good as Mo Xinko's, it shouldn't be much different. Because the customers in the bar, including those two female bartenders, seemed to be very afraid of Villar.
Four people walked through half of the town and returned to Miss Keli's store, the sky was already late, Miss Keli's store had long been closed, Vilar stared at the lamp on the second floor in a daze. Han Jin did not urge him, but quietly observed every change in Vilar, his professional habit was like this, always liked to observe coldly.
In an instant, Villar pulled out a key and came to the front of an ordinary residential building opposite the small building, opened the door with the key and walked in directly.
The outside house was very empty, a table was placed in the corner of the wall, but there were no matching chairs. Villar pushed open the door to the inner room, and Han Jin also wanted to follow him in. Who knew that Villar glared at him with her eyes wide open, blocking the doorway: "Don't you know the rules? What do you want to do?"
Han Jin stared blankly for a moment, then smiled and said, "You misunderstood me, I just wanted to clarify..."
"What does it mean?"
"What I need is slightly different from the ordinary armor." Han Jin gestured with his hand on his chest and arm: "The chest cannot be blocked, the left arm can be made normally, but the right arm needs to expose the forearm, and also the back..."
Han Jin's explanation was endless, and Villar's eyes grew wider and wider. Finally, he couldn't help but interrupt Han Jin: "What do you want to do with such armor?"
"You don't have to worry about this anymore." Han Jin said calmly, "Otherwise, I can just go across and buy a pair casually. Why bother spending money to ask you to specially forge one for me?"
Villar shook his head, muttered something under his breath, and slammed the door shut.
Han's ears were very useful and he heard Villar say: Poor guy, his head must have been kicked by the long-beaked beast in the forest.
