Chapter 67: Robbery

  Chapter 67: Robbery

"Is it fun?" Han Jin smiled, revealing his teeth: "There's something even more fun." Two talismans appeared in his hands, then transformed into a faint mist, and as many as ten ghosts appeared on the battlefield, coordinating with the wooden man who had been on the defensive to launch a counterattack.

  "Heavens... A ghost!"

"That guy is a wizard! He's a wizard!!" The dozen or so guards were thrown into disarray at the time, although they had no experience fighting wizards, but it didn't stop them from understanding how terrifying wizards were. The ten ghosts hadn't even fully exerted their combat strength yet, and the guards were already starting to collapse, while Leopold simply fainted straight away.

For this group of low-ranking professionals, the combination of wooden men and ghosts is extremely terrifying. As long as they are entwined by the ghost, they lose their sight and can only wield their weapons wildly, while the wooden men are unaffected, with each punch landing very solidly.

"Get out of the way..." The captain of the guard seized the opportunity to strike at the wooden man who was chasing his comrade, and with one sword stroke struck the wooden man's head, causing it to stumble backward several steps. Then, wielding his long sword, he rushed towards Han Jin.

Shoot the man before shooting the horse, capture the thief before capturing the king. The tactics are correct, but unfortunately his speed is not as fast as the ghost, two ghosts simultaneously encircle and surround the captain of the guard in the middle.

However, he was also considered a man of great courage, showing an aura of unparalleled bravery. Although the two ghosts were frantically tearing and pounding his body, and although he could no longer see anything, he still charged forward in the direction he thought was right, wielding a long sword that danced with vigor.

Han Jin drew out the short sword from Leopold's waist, this short sword was very beautiful, with exquisite workmanship and precision, the hilt should be made of some kind of magic beast's teeth or bones, it felt smooth to the touch, and on top of that, it was inlaid with a row of small rubies, rather than saying it was a weapon, it would be better to say it was a work of art.

Han Jin patted his hand, and his body suddenly darted out from the corner, his toes tapping on the wall of the cave, his body swiftly changing direction, his movements light and agile. He landed quietly behind the captain of the guard and then reversed his hand to send the short sword out.

With a thud, the short sword pierced through the neck of the guard captain from one side and protruded from the other. The guard captain's body stiffened suddenly, his hands unconsciously struggled twice, then the long sword fell to the ground, and his body relaxed, just swaying back and forth on the short sword.

The guards' resistance collapsed instantly, and they fled desperately to a distant place. Han Jin's eyes flickered for a moment, then returned to calmness. It wasn't because of any leniency, but rather that revenge required devising ways to inflict the greatest losses on the enemy. Killing those few guards was meaningless; Sacred Crown City could recruit dozens or even hundreds more. Only by plundering this batch of goods could they inflict significant losses on the enemy.

Under Han Jin's command, the two wooden men became slaves and soon tidied up the crooked and disorderly team of vehicles, while those ghosts turned into carters, driving the carts towards the fork in the road.

In an instant, the convoy entered a world where one couldn't see their fingers in front of them. Fortunately, ghosts didn't need light, and Han Jin had no fixed target, as long as he moved forward it was fine, he was too lazy to control those ghosts.

Leopold's breathing suddenly became heavy, Han Jin waited for a moment, feeling that Leopold was still motionless and pretending to be dead, smiled and said: "Awake?"

"Sir, don't blame me!" Leopold suddenly let out a wail: "It was those knights who forced me to do this, sir..."

The howling sound echoed far away in the dark cave, producing echoes, perhaps his cry was too mournful, and several horses whinnied restlessly.

"Keep your voice down." Han Jin said calmly.

"Sir, it's really not my fault, I didn't want to do this either, they forced me to, sir, I had no choice." Leopold sobbed.

"I understand, hehe......" Han Jin's smile was as warm as a spring breeze: "I won't kill you. If I wanted to kill you, you would have been dead by now."

Leopold fell silent, as if pondering how much credibility Han's words held.

"By the way, I asked you, was this tunnel dug by you?" Han Jin changed the subject.

"No, I've heard that these tunnels have been here for a very long time, apparently dug by cave dwellers." Leopold replied cautiously.

  "Cave Man?"

"Don't you know the cave man?"

"Hmm, I've heard of it." Han Jin said in a low voice: "When did the people of Holy Crown City discover these tunnels?"

"I don't know, and they won't tell me either. If it weren't for helping them acquire military supplies, I wouldn't even have the qualifications to come here." Leopold hesitated for a moment before finally unable to bear it: "Sir, where are we going?"

"Whatever, wherever you go is fine."

"Whatever... whatever?" Seeing Han Jin was always so gentle, Leopold's courage increased a bit: "Sir, you can't just wander around here, or you'll get lost!"

"Getting lost is always better than being caught, don't you think?" Han Jin smiled and said. Of course, he wasn't afraid of getting lost; with a teleportation symbol, he could leave immediately, unless the vertical distance between here and the ground had already exceeded ten miles.

"Sir... it can't go on like this, I... I have a suggestion to make to you, you won't be angry with me, will you?" Leopold stammered.

  "Go on."

"It's all a misunderstanding, sir! I'll vouch for you!" Leopold exclaimed hastily, fearing that if he slowed down, he wouldn't have the courage to continue: "I've had many dealings with Sagacity Castle already, General Quincy is my good friend, and there's still some face to be given, as long as I speak..."

"I'm asking you a question," Han Jin interrupted Leopold's words: "Suppose, if you were walking and saw a cliff in front of you, would you jump down?"

  "Of course not."

"I won't either," Han Jin said softly.

  "This..."

"You don't know yet, but I've already killed that guy named Mario." Han Jin said with a smile.

Leopold was stunned, he couldn't figure out why this mercenary, who dared to kill even Mario, would treat him with such courtesy and kindness, just like an old friend.

The sound of horseshoes echoed, each one hitting his heart, making him anxious and wanting to escape. The thought had just flashed through his mind when he himself vetoed it - who knew what kind of place this was, could he even find a way back?
