Chapter Eighty-four: Strange Magic
Xian Ni'er felt a surge of anger, and with a swift motion, she drew out an arrow imbued with magic. However, the remaining vampires below had already spotted the archer and were diving down in unison. By the time Xian Ni'er drew her longbow, it was too late to take aim at her target.
The vampire who fell into the crowd became extremely excited, surrounded by ordinary people, and his lethality could be fully exerted. They slid through the crowd like fish, and every time their sharp claws swung, they took away a fresh life. The miserable cries rose and fell one after another.
Hearing the companion's scream, people became even more terrified. They ran around aimlessly, shouting and colliding with each other. Those who were physically weaker were knocked to the ground, only to be trampled by dozens of feet without mercy. It was ironic that they didn't die at the hands of the vampire, but instead were trampled by their own companions until they were on the verge of death.
Mo Xin Ke was furious, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't catch up to or grab those few vampires who were weaving in and out of the crowd. Sasu Ou and Xian Ni Er were also there, staring blankly, unable to lock onto them, and naturally they couldn't launch an attack.
"Get down!!"
Many people heard Han Jin's roar and rushed to lie down on the ground. Those who didn't hear him found their companions acting strangely and subconsciously followed suit, falling to the ground. Although their movements were not very coordinated, they eventually managed to expose several vampires.
"Die!" Mo Xinko shouted, his long sword transforming into a dazzling river of stars that shot towards the nearest vampire. The vampire bared its teeth in an ugly grin and quickly retreated backwards.
Moxinke once again leapt into the air, hot on their heels. Seeing that the opponent had locked onto him, the vampire's face grew even more ferocious, letting out a sharp, ear-piercing screech. The other two vampires simultaneously moved to surround Moxinke.
Moshen Ke was calm and fearless, just as the two sides were about to collide, a dazzling light burst forth. Countless golden rays shot out like arrows, pinning everything within tens of meters to the ground, turning people, vampires, and Moshen Ke into a golden yellow color.
Three vampires let out a mournful cry at the same time, but Mozhenke was unaffected. His sword strokes suddenly accelerated, and a brilliant starlight pierced through the chest of one of the vampires, emerging from its back, bringing with it a burst of dark red blood.
Coordination is also needed to hone in actual combat. In the first few encounters with vampire attacks, it was always Han Jin who released magic first, followed by Moshenke and others launching an attack. The advantage of doing so was that battles were often very easy, but the disadvantage was that powerful vampires could adjust in time and escape in time. Then they would come back with their companions to avenge themselves.
So now Han Jin and others have changed their cooperative steps. Either they don't make a move. If they do, they must guarantee complete annihilation.
Xian Ni'er relaxed her fingers. A sharp arrow shot out. Extremely accurately, it shot into a vampire's ear and deeply pierced inside.
The vampire stumbled a few steps, and then fell to the ground, pressing down on a woman in her twenties. The woman didn't dare lift her head, but suddenly felt something sticky on the back of her neck, and let out a sharp scream.
Sasori raised his magic wand at the same time. A twisted bolt of lightning poured down from the air, hitting the last vampire directly. If it were a ghost, it wouldn't be considered an evil spell that Han Jin could release. Sasori's attack was the sharpest in the team, but it didn't work against vampires. This lightning could only tickle the vampires.
Mo Xin's right hand exerted force, attempting to pull out the long sword to kill the last vampire. At this moment, the vampire in front of him suddenly grasped the blade with force. The fingernails on his right hand tore through the air, emitting a sharp whistling sound, and grabbed towards his wrist.
Moshenke was shocked. He hastily let go of the long sword and retreated a few steps back. The vampire's eyes gleamed with crimson light, fixed intently on Moshenke. His gaze was filled with boundless hatred. His left hand tightly grasped the sword blade, slowly pulling out the massive sword.
Moxinke's sword left a transparent hole in the vampire's body. After the sword was pulled out, you could even see things behind him from his front. Thick black-red blood kept flowing out of the hole. But the vampire stood extremely still, unmoving, his legs rooted to the ground.
Is this okay? Mo Xinke felt extremely surprised. Along the way, they had already killed quite a few vampires, but one as powerful as this was their first time seeing.
The vampire took a deep breath and then spat out a green thing at Mosike.
Ah……In a burst of screams, a woman suddenly jumped up, and the green thing was stuck to her back. The woman's movements came to an abrupt halt, and thick fog rose from her body. Her skin, her muscles were all dissolving at an extremely fast speed, and in the blink of an eye, she turned into a pale skeleton.
It wasn't just Mosuke who was shocked, the people of Sasau were also stunned. Xanier drew her longbow and an arrow flew out silently. The vampire suddenly raised its arm to block its face, and the arrow hit the vampire's arm.
"Hah...hah..." The vampire let out a sinister laugh and took another deep breath.
Moxinke didn't even have time to retrieve his long sword, and quickly retreated backwards at the fastest speed possible. However, his retreating speed was no match for magic, and a rain of black-red blood droplets shot out, sweeping towards everyone around him.
Mo Xin's face changed greatly, he didn't know what kind of magic it was, nor did he know if his protective aura could protect himself, but the range of that bloody rain was too large, and he couldn't dodge at all.
At this moment, a wooden man suddenly appeared in front of Mo Xinkuo. Although it was beaten back by the bloody rain, it firmly blocked Mo Xinkuo.
A chorus of mournful cries rose from the ground, and those who had lain down in obedience to orders were no longer lucky. About thirty or more people got stained with black-red raindrops, all of them rolling over, struggling and howling.
The vampire stood up straight, took another deep breath, and a dazzling golden light suddenly lit up. Then, a silent arrow approached the vampire under the cover of the golden light.
No matter how powerful the vampire's body was, its eyes were weak. Under the illumination of the golden light, it could only close its eyes. Xanthe's arrow flashed by and shot directly into the vampire's open mouth. Then, a flame burst forth, turning the vampire from inside to outside into a human torch.
The vampire let out a blood-curdling scream, and the magic could no longer be released. If flames had been burning on the outside of its body, it might have been able to withstand the damage from the fire, but with the flames burning inside its body, it was a different story altogether.
The last vampire had originally intended to assist in the attack, but seeing its companions releasing a black-red blood rain, it hastily retreated to one side. Apparently, it too feared that magic. Now seeing its companion's outcome, it knew there was no need to continue fighting. It immediately transformed into a strangely-shaped bat and flew away into the sky.
The long incantation has been chanted, and Sasori sees his chosen opponent trying to escape. He reveals a cold smile, pointing the magic wand in his hand at the sky. The bat lets out a sharp cry, plummeting straight down to the ground, its wings flapping wildly but unable to fly back up. For anything that can fly, gravity magic is an irresistible spell. Dragons are able to ignore ordinary gravity spells due to their incredibly strong magical resistance; otherwise, they would also fall from the sky.
Moshenko charged forward, his body spinning, and picked up the giant sword that the vampire had thrown away. The giant sword once again released a dazzling sword aura. Moshenko's body brushed past the vampire, and a still-burning head flew into the sky. The vampire shook and fell to the ground.
Moxinke continued to charge forward, the snow-white sword blade slashing down. The struggling bat saw that things were not going well and transformed back into a vampire. Before it could even get up, a burst of golden light exploded in front of its eyes. In the next instant, Moxinke's longsword had already split open its skull.
The hardness of the vampire's skull far exceeded Mosinke's expectations, and with a loud crash, his sword was bounced back. The vampire was heavily smashed to the ground under the double effect of huge impact force and gravity. However, using one's own long sword to probe the opponent's skull for hardness or not, it was all Mosinke who had the upper hand.
Mo Xinke raised his long sword again, like lightning, stabbing down, the sword tip pierced the vampire's neck and deeply stabbed into the ground, nailing the vampire there.
Han Jin walked over slowly, stretched out his hand and beckoned. A talisman floated gently down towards the vampire. As it landed on the vampire's body, it suddenly transformed into a golden light screen, enveloping the vampire inside. The vampire struggled for a moment before falling still.
Han Jin secretly let out a sigh, these few vampires had very strong combat power. In the past, only one Purification Spell was needed to end the battle, but today he had already cast it repeatedly several times. Fortunately, there were only three vampires; if there were a few more, the consequences would be unthinkable.
The wails of the crowd gradually subsided, of course, they had no possibility of recovering on their own, silence representing the disappearance of life.
"What's going on? Who can tell me how vampires are able to cast magic?" Moshenkov shouted, his voice still shaking with fear.
"I don't know." Xanthe walked closer with a slow pace, her eyes looking very serious: "Before, I had never heard of vampires that could release magic."
"Sasori, and you? Do you know this vampire?"
"I don't know either." Sasori said with a wry smile.
"We may have killed a big shot or something..." Xanthe trailed off.
"What then?" asked Mo Xingchi.
"Then big trouble will come knocking on the door." Xanier sighed softly.
