The Intermediary

  The intermediary in '23

"Is this your doing?" The burly man who had burst in, a robust fellow clad in fine armor, produced a sheet of high-quality white vellum and thrust it under Anel's nose. Penni glanced at it briefly and saw that it depicted a ***, with curves that were both subtle and striking, from the cherry on top to the forest below, all rendered with exquisite precision. The vellum had some faint yellow imperfections and creases, but these were perfectly integrated into the brushstrokes, adding to the allure.

Now Pan Ni understood what the rabbit meant by "art", and if it were usual, he would have admired the fine workmanship of this painting, but thinking of the other's behavior towards Wei Ka just now, he felt some anger in his heart.

So when several strong men cast questioning glances at him and Vika, the two people simultaneously took a step back, shook their heads: "We have nothing to do with him."

"Vika... help!" Anel was lifted up by a burly man like a little chicken, waving his arms and legs in mid-air, shouting for mercy.

"You're at it again with this shameless act, you'd better be careful." Vika was very familiar with the rabbit's way of doing things, closed her eyes, and shook her head with a sigh.

"You shameless scum, enjoy the wrath of Ice Giant!"

Ice Giant? Penny suddenly remembered this name, the children of Laiserman, born and raised in the northern country, if not chosen by witches, would be sent to a place called "small house" by their families for training, becoming a tough Northland Berserker.

This small hut will accompany a warrior for his entire life, it is a place of cultivation and also a military camp.

Leshyman's hut has a prefix, most of which are related to the living creatures around the place. The only one in Mushtil is called 'Ice Giant', and every time he fights with Sel, the Ice Giant Leshyman is always the first to be attacked, so he is famous, even Penny has heard of it.

The burly man became more and more enraged, flinging his hand out and sending the rabbit-like man tumbling to the ground. The four burly men beside him pounced forward, pinning Anel's limbs to the ground in a large "X" shape. A fierce warrior approached Anel from the front, raising the massive wheel-axe in his hand, his stance somewhat resembling that of a golfer swinging his club. However, his target was not the ball, but rather what lay between Anel's legs - if he were to hit a hole-in-one, it would be a catastrophic outcome.

Looking at the fierce warrior's stance, the half-elf who was pressed to the ground also knew that his future was doomed. As he shrunk back in fear, he shouted for help, and a patch of pale yellow frost flowers mysteriously appeared on the outside of his pants.

A group of fierce warriors burst out laughing: "This little runt who hasn't even grown a beard yet dares to have designs on Yulia?"

Vika turned her head away somewhat awkwardly, and Penny asked her with a strange expression: "Is this person really useful?"

"Although he's usually like this, there aren't many more useful informants than him in the northern lands." Vika rolled her eyes and replied.

"Alright, some people with skills can be tolerated for being a bit eccentric... Panni thought to herself as she turned her head and saw the axe-wielding guy measuring up Anel's crotch area. The half-elf had already started foaming at the mouth and let out a light cough before saying: 'Everyone, please wait a moment.'"

"What's going on?" A few large, copper-bell-like eyeballs stared at Penny: "You want to plead for this guy?"

"No." Panni shook his head calmly, pointing at Anel who was rejoicing on the ground, and said: "But he owes me two thousand gold coins. If you kill him, I'll have no way to collect my debt."

"Did this little guy owe so much debt?" A group of berserk warriors looked at the elf on the ground in surprise.

"So, may I be allowed to settle my debts first before you all come to punish him for his actions?" Pan Ni said politely: "The Three Gods have taught us that everything must follow the proper order."

"That's right." Laiserman believed in the three great goddesses and was a simple folk, so when he saw Penni being polite, he didn't suspect anything and nodded: "We'll wait outside for you to finish collecting your debt, let's see if this little guy can still run away?"

"Come quickly." Seeing several fierce warriors go out, Anel hastily pulled the two into a small house. The room was cluttered and disorganized, with hundreds of nude paintings on the walls that left Penny and Vika staring in shock, feeling somewhat at a loss for what to do. They looked at Anel as if he were an alien.

"Hey, the women from the north have huge pores and no flavor at all. If I wasn't desperate, my artistic impulse wouldn't be satisfied with that woman!!" Anel muttered while tidying up the room: "The best material is the women from the central region, you know, especially those from Hertland, their skin is as smooth as silk, and they even have a milky tea-like fragrance..."

Hartland area... seems to be just north of the Giant Dragon Coast, Penny tilted her head and took a look at Vika's neck, and indeed there were some similarities with what Anel said.

"Ahem." Feeling the lecherous gaze of Xiao Se Lang, Wei Ka's face turned red as she coughed and said: "An Er, can we talk about your rogue art later? We need your help with something right now."

"Help? Pay up." Anel said without hesitation: "Or satisfy my art."

"We just saved your life," Vika tried to persuade him.

"Damn it, if you hadn't ruined my illusion spell, they wouldn't have found me."

"The problem now is, if you refuse to help me, I'll go out and bring them in." Penny made a regretful gesture with her hands as she watched Annel crawl into the tunnel from under the fireplace: "If you get inside, I'm sure they'd be delighted to pour some oil down there and turn you into a roasted rabbit."

"You're a disgusting guy." Aniki turned his head, glaring fiercely at Penny, seeing that the boy remained expressionless, finally letting out a frustrated sigh: "Hurry up and say it, damn it, hurry up and finish, I still have to run away."

"I'm looking for an opportunity to join either the Witches' Coven or the Berserker Rebels, whichever is possible." Penny stated her purpose succinctly.

"Alright, a group of Thiel's holy warriors are being invited by the witches to come here for rescue, and I'm the one who is in charge of making contact. You and I will go, if we get their approval, maybe we can join as mercenaries." Anel said so.

"Can you also act as an intermediary for a group of holy warriors?" Panni was somewhat incredulous, a follower of Til who believed in fairness and justice, actually believing in such a lewd person who loved body art?

"In the eyes of the Thirr warriors and witches, this somewhat eccentric bard is far more reliable than a novice wizard from Ser." Anel glanced at Panni's suddenly changed complexion, his sharp gaze devoid of the earlier frivolous and obscene feeling: "Don't think that your hastily learned Komir accent is so authentic, it can only deceive those single-minded berserkers. For the sake of your life, it's best to speak less in front of those witches."

Pang Ni's heart skipped a beat and he immediately shut his mouth. At the same time, his underestimation of the rabbit instantly vanished.

"Now come with me." Arnell beckoned to Penny and Veeka, leading them into the passageway.
