Chapter XII: Fare Well
“There’s no way I can kill you. Just let me heal you,” said Unk as he formed the spell.
*Pop* *Fizzle*
Unk stomped the ground and shouted, “What! Did I hit my limit?! Nooo!”
“Brownie dying…,” said Flappers as she hopped away from the growing pool of blood.
“I have to try again-”
“Kill me snack…”
Unk’s vision started to spin and he said, “I’m not sure I can Mr. Bear.”
Flappers landed on top of the bear and asked, “Kill brownie?”
“No! I’ll do it,” said Unk as he slowly grabbed onto the bone dagger lodged within his neck.
With all his weight, he started to push the dagger through the bear's neck using his foot. At first, he slowly pushed out of hesitation. However, he quickly realized the unnecessary suffering he was causing and changed his pace.
*Plop*
Unk then fell onto his bottom.
Flappers jumped over to Unk and asked, “Master sad?”
Unk looked over at the Moma bear who was leaving with her cubs and said, “Yes, master is sad, but it’s the cycle of life as some would say. I’m just glad that I could honor his wish.”
“Eat brownie?”
“Um, help me gather the rest of the food before you do that.”
The druid and his companion worked on collecting all the corpses into a pile like they did in their first goblin encounter. Unk would saw the limbs off with whatever blades he could find, while Flappers picked up the pieces and moved them. After what felt like a half day's work, they finished.
Unk crawled inside the pile and said, “Phew, thanks, Flappers. I think doing all this will help my odds with the lottery, you know?”

“Yes! Yes!” screamed Flappers as she chewed the innards of a bear.
“Give me what you got!”
“Wow, that is some unexpected growth, I mean literally. This’ll probably take a while, so let’s see what my level-up holds,” said Unk as the bodies slowly vanished into him.
“Hmm, only one huh? Most of these sound just as obscure and lame as the first time. Well, my inner wizard screams for the magical option once again. Eh, It’s all magic, who am I kidding? I pick identify magic.”
“Now this is the list I should take more seriously. Show me empowered stone.”
This wouldn’t be a bad option, especially if I learned to use a sling. But then again, I think it would be pretty hard to use a sling with these legs. Next, please.”
That sounds like it could come in pretty handy, except I don’t have fucking hands! Man, this whole lack of arms thing is getting to me. Show me something that I wouldn’t need arms for!”
“Hmmm, this is probably the best choice. I’m pretty weak, unfortunately, so depending on others will probably be my best bet for now. Okay, I pick nature’s ally.
“Now let's see what I look like on paper here.”
