Chapter 100?

  The ship must pass many angry looking serpents (kind of like massive Gyarados mixed with Arbok) which protect an island which has the articuno’s.

  Jonathan catches Articuno after a difficult battle (a few chapters). The expedition chooses to turn back as they have been successful and the gyrados/arbok rage at the disappearance of one of the articuno.

  Seel watches as the girls are transported away to safety. He falls into the water trying to fight off the gyrados/arbok along with his pokemon to stall so the SS Ketchum can escape. The gyrados stop trying to attack him once the ship leaves the area and they are calmed by the presence of an older Articuno who can talk and tells them to leave the Seel be.

  The Seel continues further into the inner area of the black zone. As he feels a call on his soul. He enters a cave system and has to fight his way to go deeper and deeper down the levels. (10-20 chapters) He finally arrives at what is calling him which is some form of ICE crystal.

  He touches the ice crystal which is already showing signs of cracking. The crystal explodes - leads to chapter I
