In Taoist thought, there are three types of fire within the human body: the first is the fire of vision; the second is the fire of intention; and the third is the fire of movement. The ancients called it "Triple Samadhi True Fire". When these three fires combine, with a strong intention, focused attention, it's called Martial Fire; when the intention is relaxed, seemingly present yet absent, it's called Literary Fire. When Triple Samadhi gathers together, it becomes fire; when scattered, it becomes energy. Energy flows through the Ren and Du meridians, harmonizing Kan Water and Li Fire to respond to the Way of Heaven and Earth. This Triple Samadhi True Fire is not some kind of extraordinary ability; most Taoist priests who understand it can control and use it within three years. For fire to burn, there must be energy, just like a household gas tank; the energy for True Fire comes from the Taoist priest themselves, burning their own true energy to change the form of the fire. Generally, Triple Samadhi True Fire method cannot be repeated twice within a month, otherwise it will cause great harm to the Taoist priest's original energy.
The true fire of this samadhi was indeed fierce. Zhang Wenbin held the talisman paper and gently blew a breath onto the straw man, and the damp straw man suddenly burst into flames with a "boom". This fire was very strange, as straw is normally flammable, but it seemed to be burning on the outside of the straw man without igniting the straw itself. From a distance, the straw man appeared to be wrapped in a layer of pale blue flames, which grew larger and smaller as Zhang Wenbin continued to blow air onto it.
I could faintly hear a woman's mournful cries at the door of the next room, the sound was intermittent, floating, sometimes there and sometimes not.
When the flames had completely engulfed the grass man from head to toe, Cha Wenbin drew out his Seven Star Sword and turned around to make another move. This move was called Lie Sha. He recited: "Heavenly fire shines through, earthly fire exterminates evil. Divine friends gather, omnipresent in all directions. Radiant light illuminates, chasing away the five evils. Adorned with celestial bodies, connecting with the heavenly net. Hurry, hurry, as if by imperial decree."
The fierce and powerful Southern True Fire, the one that was summoned is the Southern Sacred Precious Changyang Danling Zhen Lao, one of the five famous Old Lords in Taoism, the founder of the Five Emperors of Taoism, in charge of heavenly fire and alchemy. Summoning it to descend, the three meditative true fires are like adding wings to a tiger, greatly increasing the flames. With this talisman, the straw man was directly burned, causing its whole body to start trembling violently, as if a real person was surrounded by fierce flames, suffering to the extreme.
According to Zhang Wenbin's arrangement, the Guanding must follow the Hun. Now that the Hun has been burned by the Samadhi True Fire, the Guanding cannot withstand the pain of being scorched by the flames and will definitely backlash onto the person who cast the spell. However, a grass doll with only a Hun but no Po can naturally endure suffering much better than an ordinary human who casts the spell.
As expected, it didn't take long for Ye Qiu to shout from inside the house, "Spit it out! Spit it out!"
I rushed into the house and saw that a black blood was flowing out of Cheng Ziying's mouth, which was now hanging from her chin. It looked like thick syrup. Ye Qiu wiped the girl's mouth with a cloth and found that there was something else in the black blood, which turned out to be a thin thread-like object. Ye Qiu gently pulled it, and the thread slowly came out of Cheng Ziying's mouth. As he continued to pull, the thread grew longer and longer, eventually reaching over two meters long.
Just as the black thread was completely pulled out, the girl spat out another mouthful of blood, this time it was bright red. At this moment, Cha Wenbin also entered the room.
I only saw him quickly pinch a hand seal and stuff a small bottle into Chengzi's mouth, then paste a talisman on the girl's forehead, shouting: "Taiji Lianhua Lion Roar Seal, Mahayana Buddha fixes three souls!" As soon as he finished the incantation, Cheng's body trembled slightly. Zhang Wenbin quickly pulled out all the silver needles from her body and asked me to help him carry her to the next room, where we laid her down and had Xiaobai wipe her clean.
It took only a moment, but Zhang Wenbin was already drenched in sweat and his lips were pale. He didn't even have time to take a sip of tea before rushing over to examine the black thread that Ye Qiu had pulled out.
That piece of cloth was placed on the table, and many people gathered around to see it. No one had ever seen such a long thread pulled out of someone's mouth before. Was this girl really swallowing it herself? Several university students were guessing what was going on, but no one could figure it out. At that moment, Cha Wenbin brought over some lime powder from outside the house and lightly sprinkled a bit onto the black thread.
At this time, the black line moved slightly and then began to twist like a snake. Cha Wenbin quickly poured all the lime powder in his hand down, and the black line wrapped in lime powder trembled for a while before finally stopping completely. I saw it too and thought it was strange. Could it be that this thread is still alive?
After finishing all this, Cha Wenbin finally had the time to take a sip of water and said to us: "This is actually a kind of insect, Guanding and Wugu are similar in function. To control a person, you must have a carrier. This worm is called 'Golden Hook Iron Wire'. When it's small, it can't be seen when placed in tea water. After the person drinks it down, this worm will parasitize in the human body's five organs and six hollows, relying on blood to survive. It grows very quickly because it needs to extend itself to every inch of the host's skin. Probably because of this, Miss Cheng's consciousness became more and more blurred, until she started going crazy."
This time I really admire you with all my heart, Gu Qinghe was even more stunned, "Wen Bin, you're really amazing, how did you know this?"
"This golden hook iron wire insect is not a product of Jiangnan, it comes from the Western Regions." The one who said this was not Cha Wenbin, but rather He Lao, and this old man surprisingly also knew about this kind of insect.
Cha Wenbin nodded and said: "He Lao is indeed knowledgeable and experienced. It's really a product of the Western Regions."
He Lao saw the students' surprise and said, "The first time I saw this thing, I was only thirty years old. That year, when I was investigating a Western Xia king's tomb in Gansu, I found the body of this insect in a mummy. Later, after being identified by biological experts from our department, it turned out that this insect was the golden hook iron wire worm. The discovery at that time brought us inspiration - the corpse did not die naturally, but was killed, and the killer used this parasitic insect. However, listening to Wen Bin's words, it seems that only people who practice witchcraft would use this."
Zha Wenbin said: "Our Tianzheng Tao had a book called 'Wuxing Tongzhi', my Shizu was named Ling Zhengyang, who was proficient in Wuxing Taoism. He traveled all over the country to explore the world's wonders and compiled a book on witchcraft and sorcery, which included more than 1,000 kinds of spells and incantations from different regions. Unfortunately, the first volume of this book has been lost for a long time, and only a small part of the second volume was passed down. When it reached my master's hands, there were only a few dozen kinds left. During the Cultural Revolution, my master was imprisoned in a cowshed, and his home was ransacked. The remaining pages were burned to ashes by someone. I happened to see a few pages, which included the record of this golden hook and iron wire."
"What a pity." Gu Qinghe said with a reluctant face: "Such good things should be the cultural treasures of mankind, how can they be burned just by saying so? It's really a shame."
I asked: "Is that Miss Cheng still tight?"
"It should be fine, I'll prescribe another dose of Chinese medicine later. Xiaoyi, go to the town and get some herbs back for Xiaobai to decoct. After drinking a few doses to regulate her qi and blood, she'll be okay."
As he spoke, he began to take out pen and paper to write. I had just taken the prescription and was about to leave when I heard them shouting behind me: "Something's wrong! Something's wrong!"
I turned around and saw that Cha Wenbin had somehow knocked his head against the corner of the table and fainted.
The village of Zhuangyuan is indeed a wealthy village, with a clinic in the village. The doctor on duty was said to have been the head of the county hospital before, but later made a mistake due to an affair and was demoted. In fact, it's just an extramarital affair that wasn't a big deal now, but back then it was enough to make him lose his job. Later, Zhuangyuan village paid for him to come to the village to see patients. These two days, the village has begun to decline and can no longer afford the doctor's salary. However, the man is not bad-hearted and still comes to the village for inspections from time to time. It just so happens that he was here today, so they quickly sent Cha Wenbin over.
The doctor was quite responsible and immediately gave Wenbin a check-up. After some trouble, he said that the patient had fainted due to overwork, and then gave him an IV drip and oxygen supply. It wasn't until half an hour later that he woke up. I only then realized that he had really been exhausted to the limit this time.
The Taoist's exhaustion is different from ours. Ordinary people get tired after physical labor, and their brains get tired after thinking too much. But this Taoist gets hurt by his own energy when he practices his skills. In fact, his exhaustion far exceeds ours. When we're tired, a good sleep will make us feel better, but it's not the same for him. In just these few days, Zhang Wenbin has overdrafted his vital energy several times, using up his life force repeatedly. It's as if he's constantly burning his own life away. Although he doesn't say it out loud, he knows in his heart that he might be leaving behind some hidden troubles.
On Lion's Peak, he was busy for a whole day, turning everything upside down. Before I even came to my senses, he was already on his way down the mountain to fulfill his promise to me. He also took me to burn incense and paper for those lonely spirits. When we returned home, without resting, he went to Status Village again. The three-layered true fire was stacked one by one, and the opposing forces that were lowering their heads were all burned out of endurance. But wasn't he himself already at his limit? Looking at this man who wakes up smiling every day, my nose is really a bit sour. From childhood to adulthood, I've never heard him say a word about being tired. In fact, he was truly exhausted...
