Chapter 3 Bitter Fruit and Evil Food

Chapter 3 Bitter Fruit and Evil Food

The scene in the bedroom made Ye Feng's hair stand on end, and his body trembled even more violently. On the bed lay a person with an unclear face, but Ye Feng could see that this person was covered in fresh blood, motionless, and the entire bed was stained red. Blood dripped from the bedside onto the floor, and a strong smell of blood filled the air. Ye Feng almost confirmed that the person lying on the bed was already dead.

Liu Yong kicked Ye Feng hard in the back, causing him to stumble and fall onto the bed, right in front of the dead man's face. Looking at his terrifying expression, Ye Feng's mind went completely blank for a moment.

As Ye Feng gradually realized that he might have fallen into a conspiracy trap set by Liu Yong and Liu Mei, just as he was about to get up, he felt a sharp pain in the back of his head, and suddenly fainted.

It wasn't until much later that Ye Feng finally came to, opening his eyes to see the same terrifying dead face staring back at him. The massive fear made him think of only one thing: he wanted to leave this corpse, leave this villa, and return to his own workshop, cover himself with his quilt, and continue sleeping as if nothing had happened.

But as Ye Feng got out of bed and turned around, the cold black pistol appeared in front of him again. Liu Yong fiddled with the gun for a few moments, making "click click" sounds.

"Yefeng, if you want to die now, I can fulfill your wish. After all, at this crime scene, you are the only suspect, and as a police officer, shooting a resistant murder suspect who wants to escape is justified. How about it? Do you want to try?"

Ye Feng looked at Liu Yong's venomous face, then glanced at Liu Meimei behind him, whose expression had returned to normal but was now too afraid to look straight at him. He shouted loudly: "I didn't kill anyone, it's you, you want to frame me, isn't that right?"

Liu Yong sneered and said, "You're right, we did want to frame you. Who made you so unlucky? Who made you the most suitable person to be framed? If you must blame someone, blame yourself for being a toad who wants to eat swan meat. You've been making moves on Xiaomei, having unclean thoughts about her, and always finding excuses to go to her house. This is your fate. If you didn't have fantasies about Xiaomei, if you didn't keep trying to find opportunities to flirt with her, we wouldn't have thought of using you as a scapegoat. But that old man suddenly came back tonight without warning and actually hit Xiaomei in front of me! So, Xiaomei and I each stabbed him once, and he's dead. Luckily, we found the treasure he hid under the bathroom tiles, thanks to you. If you hadn't come to fix the pipes twice, Xiaomei might not have thought of looking there. We should actually thank you for that."

Ye Feng couldn't understand what Liu Yong meant by "treasure" and didn't know the relationship between the dead person on the bed and them, but Ye Feng was now certain that Liu Yong and Liu Mei were trying to frame him. The two of them conspired to kill someone, but tricked him into leaving his fingerprints and footprints behind, framing him as their scapegoat.

Fear and dread, regret and anger, panic and confusion, all sorts of emotions filled his heart. In the end, driven by instinct, Ye Feng did something - he madly rushed towards Liu Yong, wanting to beat him up badly before running away. As for what to do after escaping, Ye Feng didn't even have time to think about it.

Unfortunately, when Ye Feng's fist hit Liu Yong's face, Liu Yong easily dodged it. Then Ye Feng felt a tightness in his waist and suddenly felt like he was floating on clouds, flipping over in mid-air and heavily slamming onto the floor.

The intense pain instantly dispelled the anger and courage that Ye Feng had just sprouted, and fear and panic struck his heart again. Ye Feng looked at Liu Yong in a fluster, not knowing what to do next.

Liu Yong looked at Ye Feng, put away the gun in his hand and said: "Kid, don't you know I'm a judo black belt? You're no match for me. Let me tell you, Xiaomei has already called the police, and soon a large number of police will arrive. If you behave yourself, I'll let you surrender peacefully, and I can say you turned yourself in. But if not, then you'd better run away. However, I'm warning you, don't try to escape from the front door, if you want to run, you should jump out of the toilet window, you stupid idiot, even this kind of thing needs to be taught."

Ye Feng sprang up from the floor, his immense fear and panic making him rush into the bathroom like a madman. He opened the window and jumped out just as a gunshot rang out, the sound echoing through the still of the night with deafening intensity.

Although the window was on the second floor, because there was a small garden below with soft ground, Ye Feng jumped down without getting hurt. Startled by the gunshot and his mind going blank, he subconsciously wanted to return to the simple tool shed outside the villa first. However, before he could run out a few steps, the ear-piercing police siren grew louder from afar, causing Ye Feng's heart to panic to the extreme, losing all sense of direction as he ran wildly and aimlessly until he was finally cornered by a large group of arriving policemen at a street corner.

Ye Feng didn't know if it was because the police could tell at a glance that he was the suspect who had been "framed", or if his panicked running had aroused their vigilance and attention. In any case, he was caught like this, several policemen pinned him to the ground, not allowing him to make any explanation, only repeatedly asking him what his name was, where he was from, and where he worked now.

Then, Ye Feng saw Liu Yong coming over. After whispering a few words to a certain police officer, someone put handcuffs on him and started rummaging through his pockets.

It was only then that Ye Feng suddenly realized that Liu Yong had intentionally let him escape earlier. Liu Yong's "kindness" in giving him a hint was actually an attempt to lure him into jumping out of the toilet window and escaping, which would make it even more likely for him to be caught by the police and confirm his suspicion as a murderer.

What happened next made Ye Feng even more horrified, the police tore open his shirt and actually pulled out several diamonds from his inner pocket. Although he was very nervous and frightened, Ye Feng could still confirm that those small, sparkling particles were indeed diamonds, because in the past, after receiving his salary, he had impulsively wanted to buy a diamond ring for his mother several times, so he was quite familiar with diamonds.

Then the police found a few more diamonds from Ye Feng's pocket.

At this time, Ye Feng really collapsed a bit. He could imagine that it must have been when he was unconscious, Liu Yong and Liu Mei Mei had done something to him, hiding these diamonds in his pocket. But why did the two of them want to do this? If these diamonds were indeed the treasure from the iron box under the bathroom tiles that Liu Yong mentioned, then Liu Yong and Liu Mei Mei should have kept it for themselves. Why would they take it out and put it on Ye Feng's body? Even if they wanted to frame him, there was no need to pay such a huge price, right?

It wasn't until much later that Ye Feng understood the whole story. The diamonds Liu Yong and Liu Mei had placed on him were only a small part of the total, with most of them hidden away by the couple. They had done this because the secret of the iron box was not just in their hands, but also known to someone else. So they decided to make the secret public, shifting the blame onto Ye Feng's shoulders. Even if the other person who knew the secret wanted to pursue it, they would only come after Ye Feng and not them.

In Liu Yong and Liu Mei's minds, Ye Feng intentionally murdered someone and stole others' property, so he would definitely be sentenced to death for both crimes. Therefore, they were certain that the secret in the iron box would also disappear with Ye Feng's execution. By the time another person who knew the secret wanted to find Ye Feng to learn the truth, Ye Feng might already be dead.

It has to be said that Liu Yong and Liu Mei's move was indeed very vicious and cunning, but unfortunately they miscalculated one thing. Ye Feng not only didn't die, but instead made them taste an even more painful and unbearable experience before long.

Ye Feng was taken to the police station, where he was beaten without questioning. He was hit until he passed out, then splashed with water to wake him up, and this process was repeated several times before the so-called overnight interrogation began.

This is no longer extortion by torture, this is **nakedly wanting to force a confession.

Moreover, these police officers did not know what method they used, and after beating Ye Feng for so long, they did not leave a single wound on his body.

Ye Feng couldn't understand why such a thing would happen in today's relatively sound legal system, perhaps this world and society were originally like this, those so-called goodness, kindness, justice, and fairness are all damn lies, it's just that many people haven't had his experience, so they believe those lies to be true.

The pain of the flesh is nothing compared to the suffering of the spirit. Ye Feng thought of Liu Meimei, who was once so beautiful in his heart, and remembered his secret crush on her. He felt foolish, naive, and a failure. Maybe he really deserved this misfortune, just like Liu Yong said - everything was because of this toad's inability to recognize its own status and identity, always thinking it could taste swan meat.

Today I didn't get to eat goose meat, but instead had a meal of bitter fruit and bad food that I didn't want to swallow but had no choice.

Ye Feng had already been beaten by the police to the point of being unable to argue, he bit his tongue several times with intense pain to force himself to stay awake, but the even more intense beating that followed soon made his willpower shrink again, and he could only nod and hum, allowing them to drag him away to take fingerprints and sign his name.
