Chapter One: Failure
"Alas, another failure." Yan Feng sighed and returned to his dormitory. Now in his senior year, his classmates were either finding jobs or preparing for graduate school, with most having already settled on a path. Only Yan Feng had yet to find a suitable job. In today's society, graduation meant unemployment, and it would be even harder to find a job after graduating.
Now, in the dormitory, except for Yan Feng, only Zhao Long and Zhou Yan are left. The original eight-person dorm has four people who have already found jobs and are interning at their respective companies, so they no longer live on campus. Another one was admitted to graduate school and is now having a long vacation at home.
Yan Feng, Zhao Long and Zhou Yan were all planning to stay in City C. They had been looking for jobs in the city during this period of time. After graduation, they would have to rent a house outside, which meant even greater pressure on their lives. So the three of them were quite anxious. However, after Yan Feng returned to the dormitory, he saw Zhao Long and Zhou Yan packing up their things.
Yan Feng saw it and a bad idea flashed in his mind, saying: "You..."
Zhao Long and Zhou Yan saw Zhai Yanfeng, a smile appeared on their faces, and they said: "Today we found a job, doing software, the company is quite far from school, we have to go out and rent a house."
Upon hearing their conversation, Yanfeng forced a smile on his face and said: "Congratulations to you both, how much is it per month?"
Zhao Long said, "Not too much, 3,000 yuan." Yan Feng said, "Very good, come, I'll help you."
Yan Feng said, and went forward to help the two of them pack up their things. A faint smile hung on his face, but only he himself knew what he was thinking in his heart.
Half an hour later, the whole dormitory was left with only one person, Yan Feng. It was quiet and cold, which Yan Feng liked because he had a weak nervous system and disliked noisy places. However, by his senior year, the number of people in the dormitory decreased from eight to three, and now there was only himself left. The silence in the dormitory was terrifying, and Yan Feng felt uneasy. Everyone had gone their separate ways, so where should he go? In the past, when there were people in the dormitory, he could chat with his classmates and vent his emotions. Now that he was alone, Yan Feng felt the surrounding atmosphere was oppressively frightening. Suddenly, Yan Feng punched his bed board and said, "I don't believe this!"
After finishing speaking, Yanfeng took his personal resume and went to find the next company.
The bus was extremely crowded, and the driver's skills seemed to be mediocre. The whole way was bumpy, and Yanfeng was already carsick. He was shaken until he felt dizzy and nauseous, forcing himself not to throw up on the bus. After swaying back and forth for an hour, Yanfeng finally arrived at his stop.
He got off the car and rushed to a trash can beside him, vomiting. Originally, taking a taxi would not have led to this situation, but Yang Feng's living expenses were slowly running out, and his family conditions were not good either. Yang Feng did not want to ask his family for money, he wanted to find his own job before his living expenses ran out. His family had supported him through school for so many years, and his parents were gradually getting older. At this age, he should no longer rely on his family, but become the pillar of his family!
After vomiting, Yanfeng felt much more comfortable. He then rinsed his mouth with warm water he had brought with him and walked to the company where he was interviewing today, Tianlong Network Technology Company.
The company's name is impressive, but it's just a small company in City C with only 20-30 employees. However, nowadays it's hard to get into big companies, so for most graduates, being able to find a job at such a small company is not bad.
The interviewer was a woman in her late 20s, with slightly heavy makeup and a good figure. Overall, she looked like she could score around 70 or 80 points. She had some destructive power over a young man like Yang Feng. Yang Feng opened his mouth and said: "Hello, this is my resume."
The woman took over Yan Feng's resume, scanned it briefly, and then looked at Yan Feng with a scrutinizing gaze, saying: "How much do you know about computer languages?"
"Computer languages are media for human-computer interaction and can be broadly divided into three categories: machine language, assembly language, and high-level language..."
The woman said, "Can you write a simple software?"
Yan Feng heard this, furrowed his brow, as practical experience in this area had always been his weakness. Seeing Yan Feng's expression, the woman frowned and said: "The interview is over, we will notify you within two days." Yan Feng heard this, knew he didn't stand a chance again, sighed and left Tianlong Network Technology Company.
After leaving the company, Yan Feng didn't rush to take a car back, but instead strolled along this street. He had just gotten off the bus and didn't want to get on another one for now, so he decided to walk a bit and get some fresh air first. Besides, if he went back now, he would be the only one in the dormitory, which made him a little afraid of entering that empty room.
The street was still quite lively, and after a while, Yanfeng saw a roadside stall selling small pendants, which seemed to have several delicate items. Yanfeng walked over, and a silver-black cross-shaped sword entered his field of vision, with a black-and-white two-tone small dragon encircling the blade.
The chain, however, was a pure blue color and looked very beautiful. Yan Feng picked it up and suddenly his anxious mood calmed down a lot, but he didn't notice this and just felt comfortable. Then Yan Feng asked the stall owner, a woman in her thirties, "Auntie, how much is this chain?"
Yan Feng has never bought any accessories like bracelets or necklaces before, after all, he's a boy and due to his family's financial situation, he's always been frugal. Even now when going for job interviews, he wouldn't take a taxi. Now, he suddenly wants to buy this useless little trinket, Yan Feng himself finds it strange.
The stall owner said casually: "Thirty." Yanfeng heard this, thought for a moment, and said: "Fifteen yuan, I'll take it."
The old lady said, "At least twenty."
Yan Feng listened and wanted to put down the chain, after all, 20 yuan was his daily food money. However, his hand seemed to disobey him and he couldn't put it down. Finally, gritting his teeth, Yan Feng took out 20 yuan and said, "Here."
After finishing speaking, Yan Feng directly flashed away.
Yan Feng continued to stroll around the street, seeing that it was almost four o'clock, so he took the bus back to school. He still held the cross-shaped sword pendant in his hand, although it cost 20 yuan, but this chain really made him very satisfied.
Not to mention anything else, the feeling of holding it in his hand and having a cool and refreshing sensation all over his body made him feel very comfortable. Sitting on the bus didn't seem so dizzy anymore, but although he said he was sitting on the bus, in fact, he was standing. The buses in City C, unless you get on at the starting point of the bus route, otherwise, the possibility of getting a seat is zero.
Yan Feng was standing by the aisle, and just as the bus was moving forward, a car in front suddenly stopped, and the bus also slammed on the brakes. Instantly, everyone on the bus rushed forward, and Yan Feng's right fist, clutching the cross-shaped pendant, smashed into the backrest of the seat in front of him.
