Chapter 10: Who is the Hijacker?

Chapter Ten: Who is the Bandit

  The train is speeding along!

After the first war of Huayue, the government of Hua Guo summarized the inadequacy of logistics and began to repair the railway on a large scale, striving for better results in the next war. Seventeen years passed quickly, and the rails of Hua Guo were laid out to every city and every county town. The total length of the rails became the first in the world, and the transportation of Hua Guo achieved four-way and eight-way connectivity.

So Zhao Heng's train traveled without any obstruction, the air-conditioned carriage was clean and not stuffy, with a gentle breeze blowing. Zhao Heng didn't get to buy a soft sleeper ticket, so he had no choice but to find a hard seat to sit down, gazing out of the window as familiar buildings whizzed by, the speed getting faster and faster, his heart filled with a faint sense of melancholy.

  It's hard to part!

Although he had long wanted to leave the Lu family's mountain villa to make a name for himself and broaden his horizons, he couldn't help but admit that no matter how beautiful and alluring the outside world was, it could never compare to the charm of his hometown's scenery. What would Huahai City, the economic center of southern China, be like?

In front of the bulletproof glass window, Zhao Heng stood quietly with his hands clasped together, gazing out at the mountains and trees, hills and grey sky outside, as well as the railway that had been flattened by the train. Everything was gradually becoming a memory for Zhao Heng as the train moved forward.

The rumble of the train is just like Zhao Heng's current mood, unable to be still.

Before long, the General's City was left far behind in the rear of the train and could no longer be seen. Along the way, lights continued to turn on, and the dazzling lights gradually merged into hazy light spots in the night sky. After a while, the outside of the window was completely pitch black, and the heavy night curtain covered everything.

This means Hua Hai is closer to the Pearl of the Orient.

Zhao Heng couldn't help but think of that classic old song:

  Surging forward, surging forth;

  The Yangtze River flows endlessly for ten thousand miles;

All worldly affairs have been exhausted, and everything has become a vast and surging tide.

  、、、、、、

"Cigarettes, beer, mineral water, roasted fish slices... Ah!"

  "Baijiu beverage instant noodles sausage~~~ah!"

  "Pull your legs in!"

In the midst of Zhao Heng's fervent excitement, a train vendor was loudly reciting classic train couplets in the aisle, opening and closing his wares as he went back and forth. Countless passengers, subconsciously drawing their legs up, also asked for food, after all, the long night needed something to hold on to.

Zhao Heng couldn't help but smile wryly!

  "It's already eight o'clock..."

Zhao Heng, who had never been stingy with himself, glanced at the time when he saw that the sky was getting dark and found that it was almost dinner time. He walked towards a restaurant rumored to be both unpalatable and expensive, carrying a simple backpack. He casually found a small table to sit down at, and as soon as he sat down, a petite waitress immediately popped out:

  "Hello, what's for dinner?"

"I'll have an order of steamed chicken with mushrooms and a bowl of soup."

Zhao Heng's eyes calmly scanned the menu, which wasn't cheap, and after flipping through it a few times, he finally ordered a set meal. He thought that the portion in the picture would be enough to fill him up about 70%, and the waiter's attitude was pretty good. With a slight smile, she quickly took down Zhao Heng's order and then leaned forward: "That'll be 38 yuan, thank you."

  "Good!"

Zhao Heng pulled out the brand-name wallet that Lu Meng had bought for him, his fingers sliding through a thick stack of banknotes before plucking out a few and handing them to the waiter. As the waiter turned to take their order, Zhao Heng suddenly felt two scorching gazes fixed on him, visible in the reflection off the glass tabletop behind which two people were whispering to each other.

He flashed a playful smile, pulled out his wallet and paid the bill in just four or five seconds. However, this was enough time for two onlookers to judge that he was likely an easy target. Zhao Heng revealed a faintly mocking expression. The idea of "no thieves under heaven" on TV is always a myth; reality is often more sinister.

The waiter quickly brought the food, Zhao Heng glanced at his hands which had flipped through half of the book and got up to walk towards the restroom outside the restaurant door. When he walked out for about four or five meters, two ordinary-looking men also exchanged a glance and followed him. The restaurant waiter took a glimpse and showed a sympathetic expression but said nothing.

It's clear they've known each other for a long time!

Just as Zhao Heng had stepped into the five-square-meter bathroom and turned on the faucet, two men also squeezed in from behind, one on each side. One of them spoke up neatly: "Brother, we've been tight on cash lately, so we want to borrow some money from you. Not much, just leave 100 yuan for your meal expenses and lend us the rest."

Another person coldly chimed in: "We have knives too, hope our cooperation goes smoothly."

The toilet in the train dining car was set outside in a narrow corner, and almost no one came except for diners who went to the toilet. At this time, it was not mealtime yet, so two pickpockets looked very calm and composed, with one leaning against the door playing with a knife, revealing their ferocious and ruthless nature.

"Take out both your money and phone."

A short man with a triangular-shaped head, resembling a snake's head that had been chopped off, took a step forward with an air of menace. He let out a cold shout at Zhao Heng, who was too calm: "You make things convenient for us, we'll make things convenient for you, and avoid disaster! Don't force us to take out our knives, that would be hurtful and embarrassing."

  "Alright! Here you go!"

Zhao Heng glanced at the two thin but ferocious men in the mirror, washed his hands slowly and responded calmly, but then pulled down a paper towel to wipe them slowly. The man who spoke first frowned, apparently surprised by Zhao Heng's nonchalance, and then said in a low voice, "Hurry up! I still have work to do."

Another person also waved his knife: "If you don't drink the toast, you'll be punished with a penalty drink!"

Zhao Heng exhaled, tossing the tissue into the air. The two men's gazes involuntarily followed its trajectory. At that moment, Zhao Heng swiftly extended his hand with snake-like precision and seized the knife-wielding man's wrist, twisting it with a loud crack! The knife-wielding man couldn't help but let out a blood-curdling scream as his wrist was ruthlessly twisted by Zhao Heng.

  "Ah!"

As the man with a knife knelt down and let out a miserable cry, Zhao Heng kicked him to the door and blocked his way. Immediately after, he reached out and grabbed the collar of the man who was trying to escape, pulling him back with great force. Before the man could even let out a scream, Zhao Heng slammed him into the ceramic tiles above the sink, "Bang!" A dull thud echoed through the entire bathroom.

The next second, Zhao Heng kicked each of them again.

Zhao Heng's strength was immense, so great that the two men could not struggle or counterattack. As they both wailed in despair, Zhao Heng picked up the sharp little knife and flashed a faintly mocking smile. With a swift motion of his hand, the clothes of the two men were instantly cut off their bodies, as easily and quickly as shedding snake skin. In an instant, the two men were left stark naked.

  "Bang!"

A pair of glasses was directly trampled by Zhao Heng and shattered into pieces that flew out from under his shoes.

The two thugs' wailing suddenly stopped, fearing that their mouths would be kicked shut!

In their grief-stricken faces, Zhao Heng had already bowed his head.

Three thousand yuan in cash, two men's watches, a gold necklace, and a ring were all stuffed into Zhao Heng's pocket. Even the few steel rings were dug out of his pants by him. One person's mobile phone was even crushed by Zhao Heng with one foot. Finally, Zhao Heng opened the car window and threw all their clothes out the window.

"You will come to no good end!"

Looking at Zhao Heng who was leaving, the young man with a broken wrist shouted miserably:

"You will regret it! You will regret it!"

Another person also shifted his body to shout, with half of his face purple and blood dripping from his nostrils. He looked at the damaged iron door of the bathroom and the empty corridor, and shouted angrily: "Come on! Damn it! Bandits! Beating people, robbing money, robbing watches, even stripping off shoes, this is too much!"

They shouted twice and quickly retreated because they realized they were naked.

Zhao Heng didn't respond to their shouts or run away, he still walked into the dining hall with a swagger. The waiter saw him return and couldn't help but stare in surprise, seemingly astonished that he was unscathed. As Zhao Heng approached his seat, he also stared, for on his chair was leaning a beautiful girl, a beauty with an aggressive air about her.

A young girl wearing a pink shirt with loose jeans, long hair draped over her shoulders, exuding an unmistakable air of elegance and refinement that even the cute loafers on her feet couldn't conceal, at 1.7 meters tall, she could make men of average height feel inferior no matter what kind of flat shoes she wore.

Zhao Heng felt stunned despite having no pressure:

Because he ordered a set meal, which was being eaten by a delicate girl with a restless mind.

What kind of world is this?
