Chapter 36: Encounter on the Road

Chapter Thirty-Six: Encounter on the Road

Du Le returned to his residence in Fuhai City, took out his mobile phone, and soon after turning it on, he received several new text messages. Du Le opened the inbox and found that they were all reminders of incoming calls. Except for a home phone number, Jiang Yun had called three times.

It was almost 9 pm, Du Le hurriedly returned a call to Jiang Yun.

"Hello, is this Jiang Yun? I was busy and didn't answer your call, what's up?"

"Uh, I've rested enough and want to get back to work."

"Oh, no need to rush, I've already chosen a factory, just go and inspect it when the time comes."

"It's better to go and take a look as soon as possible, get the factory things settled early, and I can also openly and honestly receive my salary."

Du Le heard this and smiled, "Alright, then we'll go tomorrow. I've chosen Yonghui Food Processing Factory in Fuyong City."

"I also think Yonghui is more suitable," said Jiang Yunying.

"So let's set off tomorrow and take the high-speed train. Let's meet at the train station at 9 am." Du Le said out his plan.

"It's not good, why don't we rent a car and drive there instead. Taking the train to the station takes an hour, then transferring again will take another two or three hours. Why don't we rent a car and drive directly to the factory, it can also show our sincerity and display our strength." Jiang Yun felt it wasn't suitable and proposed an alternative.

Du Le thought for a moment, Jiang Yun's words were indeed reasonable, but he didn't have a driver's license.

  "Renting a car is okay, but I don't have a driver's license."

"You don't have one, but I do!" Jiang Yun said with a smile, "When we were in school, the driving school near our university offered discounts to college students, so I took the opportunity to get my driver's license."

Jiang Yun was willing to be the driver, Du Le naturally wouldn't have any objections, nodded in agreement. Renting a car is no big deal, there are many car rental companies nowadays.

The next morning at 9 o'clock, the two made an appointment at a car rental company. Jiang Yun chose the car and Du Le paid the deposit.

As soon as they got on the road, Du Le looked at Jiang Yun who was somewhat excited and said with some concern: "You'd better not slip your hands and take me into the ditch."

"Don't worry, I was an excellent student when I learned how to drive! Even the instructor praised me." Jiang Yun said confidently.

However, Du Le still felt that Jiang Yun was staring at the road ahead with some tension, and smiled: "How did you think of learning to drive in college?"

"In this society, I think that as long as you have the skills, you'll have more opportunities," Jiang Yun said without turning his head. "The money for driving school was earned by me through part-time jobs. The tuition for the last year has been paid, and there's also living expenses, so it's just right to have some spare money to continuously improve myself."

"Why didn't you think of taking the graduate exam?" Du Le's view of the girl in front of him changed because of Jiang Yun's words, and he had more appreciation for her.

"How could I not think of it?" Jiang Yun continued, "But it's not very realistic, maybe I'll go take a look later."

Du Le thought about his student career, finding a job and taking the postgraduate exam, even becoming a civil servant. Compared to Jiang Yun, he had less pressure but not as much foresight. Du Le originally thought that after graduation, he would casually find a company, work hard, and establish a career, which would be a way to repay his parents. As for what kind of ideals or goals he had for himself, they were always vague.

"I'm not talking to you anymore, be careful driving. This over 100 pounds is all yours now."

"Don't worry at all, boss!" Jiang Yun replied.

Du Le fell into deep thought for a moment. As for future plans, Du Le had never thought too much about it. It was because he always believed that sometimes plans couldn't keep up with changes. But now that he had money and sufficient capital, his way of thinking couldn't be the same as before. Being frugal and saving, having only so much money to spend on food, this was the mindset of his parents' generation. He himself couldn't stay at this level without making progress.

What will he be like in the future? Du Le thought about it and felt a little confused, definitely not going to work. Being his own boss, making money to support his family? Living a better life? It seems that now is almost achievable.

Never mind, Du Le simply closed his eyes and rested for a while.

The car drives on the highway from Fuhai to Fuyong, and it only takes more than an hour.

"Have we arrived?" Du Le asked after an hour, opening his eyes.

"I don't know the way, let me take a look at the map." Jiang Yun said with embarrassment, pulling out a map of Fuyong City that she had prepared beforehand.

Du Le took a look around and found they had already exited the highway, with the car pulled over to the side of the road.

Du Le looked at Jiang Yun seriously comparing the map on her phone and smiled, handing it to her, saying: "There's a map on here, as well as our route and our location."

Du Le Xin's new phone has the latest navigation map installed, with GPS positioning, so he won't get lost no matter what.

"You should have said so earlier." Jiang Yun said with some reproach.

"You didn't ask..." Du Le said innocently.

"I'm on my way, I know. It should take about ten to twenty minutes, and we should be there." Jiang Yun glanced at the location on his phone and then looked at the map in his hand as he drove.

Nanshan Industrial Zone is a relatively large-scale industrial park in Fuyong City, far away from residential areas. As Du Le and his group didn't need to drive into the city, they continued on their way, with trees lining both sides of the road and few pedestrians, only with more trucks coming and going.

Anyway, it's almost time to arrive at the destination, so Du Le didn't close his eyes and rest anymore. He looked around at the scenery and chatted with Jiang Yun from time to time.

"What's wrong with the people in front, stop and take a look." Du Le saw from afar that there was a middle-aged man and a woman standing by the roadside to intercept cars, next to which was a black van with its doors open. Looking at their anxious expressions, Du Le guessed they had encountered some trouble.

"What's wrong?" The car stopped and Du Le got out to ask.

A middle-aged man wearing white gloves saw someone who could help them and quickly informed Du Le of the current situation: "There is a patient in our car who has fainted, needs to be rushed to the hospital, but didn't expect the car to break down."

"Please help us, we will definitely reward you handsomely!" The woman also came over and said anxiously.

Du Le took a glance at their attire, especially the woman's clothes, which didn't seem ordinary and looked like those of a noblewoman. The middle-aged man was probably their driver.

It's not that Du Le wore colored glasses to see if people were worth saving, but rather to prevent running into bad people. Du Le walked back to his own car and instructed Jiang Yun not to get out of the car.

"Where is the patient? I'll go take a look." Du Le asked as he walked towards the black ambulance parked on the side.

"Are you a doctor?" The elegant woman's eyes lit up, then dimmed immediately, and she said hastily, "He is my husband, he had a heart attack, we must send him to the hospital right away."
