Being blackmailed is painful, and being used in this way is even more helpless. Cha Wenbin didn't know when he had become a pawn for others. In short, from the moment he stepped into Sichuan, all of this was destined to happen.
He had no choice, his friends even less so. Before long they found themselves back in the same building deep in the mountains, the same room, the same equipment, and even the same people.
"Lao Wang?" Although he had been thinking about it all the way, would he still be partnering with him this time? On his way there, he was told that Lao Wang was already a vegetable, and the person who came to greet them was both expected and unexpected.
"Wen Bin, long time no see."
"Are you okay?" Cha Wenbin asked with a mixture of surprise and puzzlement as he returned to the room where he had once stayed.
Old Wang touched the back of his head and smiled: "Originally, there was nothing to do. At that time, I was just knocked unconscious by my big brother. Later, when I woke up, you were all gone. They said they had already sent you back."
For some reason, when it came to this answer, a subtle change appeared on Zha Wenbin's face that was difficult to grasp. He didn't spell it out, perhaps Old Wang really didn't know, and his soul had indeed been lost at the time.
It's a good thing that we can stand here together, after all, we've fought side by side on this journey. From the bottom of my heart, I don't have any objections to this old brother Cha Wenbin. People are on different levels and do different things, that's all.
Cha Wenbin comforted himself in his heart: With so many talented and extraordinary people here, it wouldn't be surprising if they could bring back his soul. After all, there are too many inexplicable things in this world.
"It can't be a simple matter, going to such great lengths to invite us over." Cha Wenbin also didn't think it was necessary to beat around the bush and directly spoke his mind.
"Yes, I'll be straightforward. After you left, I've been in a convalescent phase and haven't touched any organizational matters. It wasn't until yesterday that I received a notice saying you were coming over and asking me to prepare, but as for what specifically, I don't know either. That's just the way things are done here - nobody asks about anything they shouldn't."
"Yesterday? You guys are ruthless enough to use such despicable means to coerce us over, is this the attitude of inviting people to do things?" Chaozi had been dissatisfied for a long time, and when he learned that he was being set up by these people, the fire in his heart had been suppressed for a good while.
When he heard how Zha Wenbin and his group were invited over, Old Wang's face showed a few more shades of embarrassment: "The organization had no choice but to do it this way, they're afraid you won't come again, so just bear with it." Old Wang was still the same old Wang, speaking with precision that left no room for error, only now his originally sparse hair on top of his head was completely gone.
"Alright, Chaozi, since you're here, let's get down to business. We've dealt with each other before, so I'll ask: With so many capable people around, why did you have to come find me, a rural Taoist? And what's more, in this vast and famous mountain range, there are countless ancient Daoist temples filled with people far more powerful than me - why did you choose me?"
"I'm here to answer you." At this time, a person came in from outside the door. It was the middle-aged man who brought them back. "Because since the day you were born, you have already entered the organization's line of sight. Your master's real name is Ma Su Feng, his Taoist name is 'Qing Feng Shang Ren', and he is the 26th generation leader of Tian Zheng Dao. He was ordered to find an eight-character pure yin person to take as a disciple, and that person was you."
Zha Wenbin sneered: "Then you've probably found the wrong person. I know my own eight characters, but they're not the pure yin you mentioned."
"Mr. Cha, forgive me for speaking bluntly, do you really know your own eight characters?" The person looked at Zha Wenbin with a hint of playfulness.
"Who would misremember their own eight characters?" Cha Wenbin retorted.
"Then I'll take the liberty of asking another question, who told Mr. Cha his eight characters?"
"Nature is parents."
"I'm very sorry." The person paused, then changed to a more gentle tone and said: "Your parents didn't tell you the truth about your eight characters because they aren't your real biological parents. You were an abandoned baby left on the side of the road, but 'Qingfeng Shangren' picked you up and took you to Zhejiang, where he found foster parents for you and later took you as his disciple, teaching you the ways of Taoism and raising you as a person. Unfortunately, those years of turmoil had a huge impact on us, and we also lost contact with each other until Old Wang found you again."
These words were like a thunderbolt on a clear day to Cha Wenbin, he couldn't accept such reality at all. He who was usually very well-behaved got angry for the first time and almost roared while grabbing that person's collar: "If you dare to spout nonsense, I guarantee you won't even be able to get into hell!"
That person calmly said: "I know that's all, if you don't believe me, you can go ask Mr. Cha to verify it himself. As for more, I think when you have the chance, you should ask that person yourself, maybe he will tell you some answers you want to know. But I advise Mr. Cha to accept this reality, you were born destined to be inseparable from this matter, everyone is like this, born with a predetermined fate. Alright, Mr. Cha, I won't disturb you anymore, rest well, Old Wang will notify you what to do later."
After saying that, the man turned around and left. Cha Wenbin wanted to ask more questions, but he stopped himself, knowing that no one would tell him anything else anyway.
"You all go out first, I want to be quiet for a while." Zha Wenbin gave the order to disperse, and others could only scatter.
In the empty room, he felt confused and lost for the first time. He kept thinking about what that person had said. He could accept being a pawn of someone else, but he couldn't accept being an abandoned child. At some point, he suddenly felt that his fate was more miserable than Zhu Xiong's, to the extent that he didn't even know who he was.
There was also something that often came to mind when he thought of Wen Bin, and that was that since his parents' death, he had never met them in his dreams. Was it really true what others said, that he was an abandoned child? Then who were his biological parents, and why did they abandon him? A string of questions made his head almost split open.
That person said he was pure yin in the eight characters? The eight characters, he had never doubted them before. His parents said what they were, and that's what they were. He also never calculated his own fate because it was a Taoist rule. No matter which school or sect, no one would calculate for themselves, and it was also a taboo for a practitioner to do so. However, today Zha Wenbin decided to break this taboo.
After a while, Cha Wenbin, who was lying on the ground, had a lot of copper coins scattered around him. He was completely stunned, because this result was just as that person said, and he himself was indeed an eight-character full-yin fate.
The ancient saying goes: solitary yin gives birth to lower, solitary yang does not grow long, yin and yang need to be harmonized, only then can they conform to the way of growth of all things. Among them, the four pillars of pure yang or the four pillars of pure yin are even more likely to bring punishment and harm to the lives of six relatives.
Cha Wenbin really wanted to cry out, he wanted to ask the heavens why they would treat him this way. He had calculated a lifetime of fortunes and read a lifetime of physiognomies. Although purely yin or yang destinies were not uncommon, someone like him was probably one in a million under the vast sky.
Cha Wenbin's eyes welled up with tears as he murmured: "Tian Sha Gu Xing..."
In Chinese astrology, apart from the Eight Characters and Five Elements, there is another thing called Shen Sha Fa, also known as Ming Shu. It combines the stars and gods in the sky with a person's fate, looking at the star gods in a person's Four Pillars and Eight Characters, mainly taking the day pillar Ganzhi as the starting point, and then connecting it with other Ganzhi such as year, month, day, hour, or major cycle, flow year, etc. for observation and comparison.
Open the book of fate, and if a certain word in one's own five elements collides with the year, month, or hour, or the heavenly stem of the great luck or flow year, it is considered to have encountered a certain god. The book of fate has specific rules for this. For example, if one's day stem is geng metal and they encounter hai in the earthly branch of the year, month, or hour, it is believed that "Wenchang enters their fate". This Wenchang is an auspicious star, and if a scholar encounters it, they will definitely have a successful career and be favored by fortune.
There are also heavenly calamities, earthly calamities, annual calamities, and punitive calamities. The heavenly calamity is two days before the fatal calamity, which is the zi and wu days. The earthly calamity is five days before the fatal calamity, which is the chen, xu, chou, and wei days. The annual calamity is three days before the fatal calamity, which is also the yin, shen, si, and hai days. The punitive calamity is seven days before the fatal calamity, sharing the same position as the general star, which is the zi, wu, mao, and you days. All four calamities are in charge of power, but do not harm the body, nor do they bring disaster. If they harm the body, it will be a great disaster, similar to the fatal calamity. Those with metal and earth elements are martial ministers, those with water and wood elements are literary ministers. Literary ministers with earth and metal elements who encounter calamities also have military power.
The lonely star is the same as the lonely Chen and Guā Suì. Men fear the lonely star, women fear Guā Suì. Only when Jié or Tiān Jié are together with Gū Chén Guā Suì in the same time-space eight characters can it be considered a complete Tian Xia Gu Xīng. On the middle vertical line of the fourth and seventh stars of the Big Dipper, there is a star that shines brightly and then dims, that is it. It rises from the end of the five elements, once the power of Jié gathers, the most respected person, yet cannot avoid being punished by the six relatives, and ends up lonely and old.
There is a poem that says:
"Robbery and loneliness are afraid of the same day, separated by a horn, double coming is easy to see. Ox combines with Dragon, Rabbit sees Tiger, Dog meets Pig but does not meet Monkey."
"In early years, one must be the master of a wealthy and prosperous household. In middle age, one will sell land and suffer punishment and imprisonment. One will lose their child and wife, and still have to obey their father. Every day, there will be double troubles that are beyond one's control."
It turns out that this is the fate, and it also explains why Cha Wenbin's relatives have passed away one after another. If he hadn't become a Taoist priest, his only son would probably be gone too. As the poem says: "The heavenly executioner star cannot be stopped, the solitary destruction of the six relatives, the death of parents; The heavenly noble person can save, cultivating oneself and doing good deeds is the best way."
That night, Cha Wenbin kept repeating those few words and couldn't sleep all night...
