"Halt!" Zhang Wenbin shouted loudly.
"What's wrong?" asked Zero and Zeta, who had stopped without knowing what was happening.
"Didn't you guys see?" Cha Wenbin asked in surprise.
Chaozi asked somewhat dazedly: "What did you see?"
Zha Wenbin pointed at the two pillars and said: "There is a mirror over there!"
"Where is the mirror?" Chaozi turned his head and asked.
Zha Wenbin looked again, where was the reflection? It was just a bare road with large stone pillars standing on both sides. Had he been seeing things?
"It's impossible! I saw it with my own eyes!" Cha Wenbin said firmly.
Chaozi said with some concern: "Wenbin brother, aren't you too tired? Your eyes are a bit strained. Why don't we take a break?"
Zha Wenbin didn't say anything more, because most people were staring at him as if they had seen a ghost. He thought to himself that he must have been seeing things. At this time, Old Knife said: "The snow on the plateau is usually in a frozen state, and it's easy to emit light at certain angles. It often flashes by and then disappears. It's not strange, let's go."
"Let's go, maybe I'm just seeing things." Zhang Wenbin didn't want to say any more. Some things are often more mysterious the more you talk about them, so he simply stopped talking.
Just as the team was about to leave, Zhuo Xiong quietly walked up to Cha Wenbin and said, "I saw it too."
"What did you see?" Cha Wenbin asked cautiously.
"There is a mirror opposite, but I see only four people in the mirror."
"Which four?"
"I, you, Chaozi and that guide, no one else saw."
Cha Wenbin's heart skipped a beat at that moment, and he looked around left and right. Everyone else had a normal expression on their face. He said to Zhuo Xiong: "Don't make a sound, just pretend you didn't see anything."
Zhuo Xiong nodded and returned to his original position, pretending as if nothing had happened.
Passing through these two somewhat strange pillars, the undulating mountain scenery begins to appear in front of you. However, above the snow line, everything is basically shrouded in a layer of white fog, and nothing can be seen.
Below the snow line, there are bare rocky cliffs, and it is rare to see greenery. This is probably also related to the harsh natural environment. This time they followed a river upstream, and the water flowing in it was probably melted from the thousand-year-old ice and snow on the snowy mountains. Taking a sip of the sweetest water and following the river to pursue history is an extremely simple yet effective method. If there has been human activity in a certain area, then it will be inseparable from the water source. It is precisely because people live by the water that China has two major civilizations, the Yellow River and the Yangtze River.
But here, there is no sign of human activity, and even animals are rarely seen, with only a few eagles occasionally flying overhead in the sky.
A group of people sat on the big stone beach by the river to take a break, and Chaozi's mouth immediately became uncontrollable again: "Wenbin brother, are you sure this is the mountain where the immortals live? I feel that even our small mountain bag is not as good as here, if the immortals live here, won't they get sick from suffocation?"
Zha Wenbin said somewhat displeased: "Don't talk nonsense, Kunlun is the ancestor of all mountains, the ancestor of dragon veins. Since ancient times, many Taoist masters have wanted to open a mountain and establish a sect here, but no one has ever been able to climb to the top of Kunlun. It's already as difficult as ascending to heaven to build a Taoist temple on the remaining veins of Kunlun. In those years, Xuan Yang Hu Zhenren and Jin Danzi Zhang Licheng Daoren two people were determined to follow the Tao, traveling thousands of miles to Kunlun to find a place to establish their sect. After searching for 15 years, they finally built the Kunlun Wansheng Palace on Lotus Peak, and then ascended to immortality. His achievement was already just a lotus flower, but if you can find the dragon's head, it would be even more extraordinary."
"That wasn't smashed to pieces during the ten years of turmoil? Even gods can't outdo the Red Guards, haha." Just as Chaozi laughed, he saw Cha Wenbin's face turn black, and he quickly covered his mouth and went to pull Xiao Zhe Luo's shoulder.
Lao Wang spat out water, thought for a moment and said: "Wen Bin, you say there really hasn't been anyone else here before?"
Cha Wenbin smiled wryly and said: "How would I know? I just heard it from the high priest too."
"But I think someone has been here before, and we've been following his footprints all along."
"Who?"
Old Wang said: "Li Bai! Li Bai once wrote a poem saying: If it weren't for the gathering of jade on the mountain top, I would meet you under the moon at the Jade Terrace.
"Isn't the group of jade mountains mentioned here just the main peak of Kunlun? And that Yaochi, isn't that the legendary domain of the Queen Mother of the West? This Li Bai first went to Qifeng Mountain and then came here. I suspect he might have also gone to the Fengyuan area in between, but his poems are too many, and I couldn't think of it all at once. Do you think this is a coincidence? If my inference is correct, he was actually helping the imperial court find something, just using traveling and writing poetry as an excuse."
Reminded by Old Wang, Cha Wenbin suddenly remembered something: "I remember a person from the Upper Clarity school of Maoshan sect who was once a great master named Sima Chengzhen, also known as Dao Yin Zhenren. He was the 12th generation leader of Maoshan. Calculating it out, he can be considered my ancestor in the Orthodox Unity School of Taoism, which originated from Maoshan and advocates for 'the way of immortals, five returns to one door'. This true person had once met Li Bai.
He began in "The Great Peng" with the following opening: 'I once met Tian Tai's Sima Ziwei in Jiangling, who told me that I had a fairy wind and Taoist bones, and could travel with the gods to the edge of the eight extremes. Therefore, I wrote "The Great Peng Meets a Rare Bird Fu" to broaden myself.'
This shows that he is the master of Mao Shan, and he understands the Tao. 'With a sword leaning against the sky, a bow hanging on the mulberry tree, floating over the four seas, crossing the eight wastes, going out of the vastness of the universe, and ascending to the mysteriousness of the cloudy sky', all these are from his mouth. The divine tree of Fusang, the eight wilds, and the eight levels of Mao Shan's spiritual journey, what you said is very likely, it's possible that we have been walking on the path he has walked!
This is an unexpected judgment, a great poet in Chinese history, unexpectedly started walking this road that they have just re-trodden today, also the divine tree of Fusang, also the Taoist path of Bashu, also the Jade Mountain Kunlun, and more importantly, also involving the Mao Shan sect.
It is well known that Li Bai had a court background, who can live so freely, every day holding a wine jug to travel and play in the mountains and rivers, reciting poems and couplets, otherwise he would have starved to death. Moreover, the places he went to, in today's words, were absolutely adventurous, without a fully guaranteed logistics support, in that primitive era when everything had not been developed, how could Li Bai alone go to those famous mountains and rivers with treacherous terrain and extremely bad natural conditions?
The answer is that Li Bai was busy with the imperial court and had gathered a group of Daoist predecessors who were extremely talented at the time. During the prosperous era of the Tang Dynasty, the country had enough time and financial resources to help the emperors achieve their dream of immortality, so Li Bai became the leader of this action.
Cha Wenbin turned his gaze to Old Wang: "You look like the current Li Bai, you do things for your organization, and I am a Taoist priest, and also the head of the Zhengtian Dao of the Miao Shan Yu Mai sect. No matter how you look at it, this is something that happened in the history of the previous dynasty before the resurrection. And there's another important piece of information: Laozi's surname is Li, he is a true god of Taoism. The ruler of the Tang Dynasty also has the surname Li, Li Bai, it makes sense. Whether or not our predecessors found anything, at least it seems that this matter can be related to my Taoist teachings, and I didn't make a wasted trip."
Old Wang was a bit embarrassed, but thinking back, it really was the case. He just chuckled and said: "Anyway, he is also a famous person in your Taoist teachings, and it can be considered that his disciples helped their ancestors fulfill their wishes."
"Don't worry, I won't give up halfway. The things I promised to do, I will do them all." Zha Wenbin thought for a moment and then said that he himself had seen four people inside without Old Wang, so his heart felt a bit unnatural. He looked at this old friend who still couldn't be distinguished as what identity, and still hoped he could travel safely. "Li Bai also has an identity which should be one of the 15th generation successors of the Shangqing Sect. It is said that he was a disciple of Hu Ziyang, and Hu Ziyang was the 14th generation master of the Shangqing Sect. This matter is getting more and more confusing, but also clearer. No matter whether it's walking on the path of predecessors or being deliberately arranged by your organization, at least I have fulfilled He Lao's wish. After leaving the mountain, I will personally burn the translated 'Ruyi Ce' in front of his grave, and then retire."
He gazed at the snow-capped mountain hidden in a sea of clouds ahead and sighed, "Since this is Li Bai's final stop, it should also be mine. What he couldn't find, I, his humble descendant, will complete!"
Looking at Cha Wenbin standing beside him, Old Wang suddenly had a feeling that this time was probably the last. He often thought that if he didn't have such an identity, maybe he would become good friends with him, discussing ancient and modern times, gazing up at the sky, and talking about life's great pleasures. Suddenly, he had an idea: after finishing this task, he would go back and ask to leave the organization, and follow these brothers who had gone through thick and thin together to live a simple life, how wonderful that would be.
"Get up, brothers! Since we've come this far, we won't leave empty-handed. The road ahead may not be so easy to walk. Although the Kunlun main peak is the dragon among dragons, it's not something that just anyone can tame. Dragons only lower their heads to those who submit to them. We mortals going to disturb it will inevitably provoke the dragon's anger."
This time, he himself walked in front, facing danger, Cha Wenbin never let others take his place to resist, that's him!
