Chapter Thirty-Five: The Lonely Bachelor and Spinster
Kai Tak International Airport, the world's busiest international airport, will be replaced by a new Hong Kong International Airport in twenty years.
Wang Wei had contacted Teresa Teng before coming to Hong Kong. Teresa had just finished filming "The Singing Contest" and was on vacation, so when Wang Wei told her he was coming, she promised over the phone that she would take him around Hong Kong after his arrival. When Wang Wei emerged from the baggage claim area with his luggage, Teresa Teng had already been waiting for a long time in the airport lobby. As soon as she saw Wang Wei come out, she walked up to him with a smile, wearing an all-white casual outfit.
"Sorry about that." Seeing Teresa Teng approaching, Wang Wei said with an embarrassed face, "First time taking a plane, so I almost made a fool of myself just now."
"What happened?" Deng Lijun asked with a concerned face. "Nothing, I just got distracted when getting off the plane, so I went to the wrong place." Wang Wei waved his hand and said.
"Lijun, how long have you been at the airport?" Wang Wei asked Deng Lijun while pulling his suitcase. "Ah, I just got here a little while ago," Deng Lijun replied after being taken aback by Wang Wei's question, although she had actually been waiting at the airport for over an hour.
Wang Wei saw that Deng Lirong paused slightly when speaking, knowing that Deng Lirong had waited for a long time at the airport. He was slightly moved in his heart.
"Ah Wei, you haven't found a place to live in Hong Kong yet, have you?" Deng Lijun asked, seeing Wang Wei's silence. "En, I plan to find a cheaper apartment to live in first." Wang Wei replied after thinking for a moment.
"Why don't you stay at my place first, it's a bit bigger." Deng Lirong thought for a moment and said to Wang Wei. "Ah, that would be too much trouble," Wang Wei replied, taken aback.
"What's wrong with that? How can you still complain that my place is simple?" Deng Lirong glared at Wang Wei and said.
"How could that be? That would trouble Lijun sister." Wang Wei waved his hand to indicate he didn't mean it.
"What's the trouble? Come on, hand over that backpack." Deng Lijun saw Wang Wei nod in agreement and smiled as she took the backpack from his shoulder.
Two people came out of the airport, hailed a taxi and arrived at Tang Lai-yung's rented apartment in Sha Tin. At that time, Tang Lai-yung had not yet bought the villa on the other side of Repulse Bay. Of course, she didn't have such a large purchasing power either, after all, Tang Lai-yung was not as famous as she would be later.
Tang Lai-yung's rented apartment in Sha Tin is a two-bedroom house of about eighty square meters. One room was occupied by Tang herself, and the other was originally empty, but now Wang Wei has arrived, so it's one person per room.
"How's that, are you satisfied?" Deng Lijun opened the door of the empty room and turned to Wang Wei. Wang Wei smiled and pulled his suitcase into the house, "Very satisfied, living under the same roof as a big star, if I'm not satisfied, what kind of environment can I be satisfied with."
Deng Lijun saw Wang Wei teasing her, just about to open her mouth to refute him, when she saw Wang Wei suddenly leaning in close with a sly expression. The words that had been on the tip of Deng Lijun's tongue were instantly stuck in her throat. "Awei, what are you trying to do?" Looking at Wang Wei's face, which was getting closer and closer with a sneaky expression, a thought suddenly arose in Deng Lijun's mind - could he be thinking of kissing me? As soon as this thought emerged, Deng Lijun felt her heart beating rapidly. Two red clouds also floated up on her pale face instantly.
"What should I do, hide or...". Just as Deng Lijun was at a loss for what to do, she suddenly heard a loud voice in her ear saying: "Sister Lijun, if your fans knew that I lived in the same house as you, wouldn't they chase me all over Hong Kong with two cleavers?"
"So he was just joking with me. I thought..." Seeing that it wasn't what she had expected, Wang Wei didn't intend to kiss her, but only wanted to play a joke on her. Deng Lirong secretly scolded herself for overthinking while also feeling a hint of disappointment in her heart.
"You think it's a gang fight, and you're holding two kitchen knives." Deng Lirong gave Wang Wei a white eye. "Hehe." Wang Wei dryly laughed twice. Then asked: "Sister Lirong, you're so busy with work, why don't you hire a maid?"
"Need to hire a servant? I'm not that old yet, besides, this place is so small, where would we put the servant?" Deng Lijun put Wang Wei's backpack on the bed and said to Wang Wei who was taking things out of the box: "Ah Wei, you sort out your stuff first, I'll go cook."
"Lijun sister, I didn't expect your hands to be so skilled, and you can even cook." Wang Wei's words of praise were obviously a bit pale and weak, as a result, Deng Lijun, who had already walked to the door, gave Wang Wei another white eye and said: "I not only know how to cook, but also know how to eat."
After Wang Wei finished packing, Deng Lijun was still busy in the kitchen. Wang Wei ran to the kitchen to help Deng Lijun, but as soon as Deng saw Wang, she thought of the scene from earlier and sent Wang to the bathroom again.
When Wang Wei came out of the bath, several small stir-fries were already placed on the table. Deng Lijun was still busy in the kitchen. Wang Wei sat at the edge of the table and shouted to Deng Lijun in the kitchen: "Sister Yun, don't bother. Just the two of us can't finish so much."
"Wait a minute, it'll be ready soon." "Oh" Wang Wei responded with a sound, then sat down on the sofa by the table. Looking at the tempting dishes on the table, Wang Wei suddenly felt that his stomach was a bit hungry. Wang Wei secretly took a glance at Deng Lijun in the kitchen and found that she was busy, so he quietly stretched out his hand and pinched a piece of beef from the plate on the table.
Just as Wang Wei was about to put the beef into his mouth, Deng Lijun came out of the kitchen with a bowl of danzai noodles and happened to see Wang Wei's sneaky eating.
Wang Wei had just put the beef in his mouth when he saw Deng Lirong walking towards him with a bowl. Wang Wei's old face turned red, and he secretly sighed to himself, it seemed that the image he had just established was ruined by this small mouthful.
"Ah Wei, I'm afraid you're not used to the noodles here in Hong Kong, so I specially cooked some dan zai mian for you." Deng Lijun said with a smile, seemingly oblivious to Wang Wei's sneaky eating, as she placed the dan zai mian on the table.
Deng Lirong didn't expose her own ugly behavior, so Wang Wei thought Deng Lirong hadn't seen him sneaking food earlier. He quickly chuckled and said, "Sister Rong's cooking is all delicious." As soon as Wang Wei finished speaking, he heard Deng Lirong laughing and saying, "Really? How about the flavor of the empty-hearted stir-fried beef? Not bad, right?" "Ah... En... Very delicious." When Deng Lirong asked how the dish was cooked, Wang Wei replied without thinking. Seeing Wang Wei's deadpan expression, Deng Lirong finally couldn't help but say a sentence.
"A Wei, it seems like you haven't even started eating yet." After saying that, she covered her mouth and ran towards the kitchen. The ugly thing of stealing food earlier was seen by Jun Jie. Wang Wei's old face turned bright red again.
