Memories weep and lament, past events flash by like lightning.

Peng Yuanzheng suddenly stood up, and a firm light shot out from his eyes.

Now that fate has once again returned to this crucial juncture in his life, he cannot bear to let his mother suffer humiliation and be forced onto a desperate path, nor is he willing to return to the stifling and suffocating life trajectory of his past life.

Peng Yuanzheng went out and took a yellow-faced taxi, heading straight for the Meng family in the center of Xin'an City.

This is the old mansion of Meng's family, a two-story independent building in Xin'an City's retirement home. Meng Qingtao's eldest son Meng Jun and his family lived on the first floor, and his second son Meng Qiang and his family lived on the second floor. Later, Meng Jun made a fortune and bought another house to live in, so this house was actually inhabited by Meng Qiang and his family of four.

Peng Yuanzheng got off at the gate of the nursing home, gave a salute to the guard, and then strode towards the third house in the second row.

Standing in front of the black gate of Meng's house, Peng Yuanzheng calmed himself down and resolutely knocked on the door with a loud "Dong Dong Dong".

"Who is it? Why knock so loudly? What's going on?"

A very impatient female voice came from the room, followed by the sound of kicking off shoes and opening the door. A young woman with light makeup and a somewhat beautiful face appeared in front of Peng Yuanzheng.

Peng Yuanzheng's mouth twitched slightly. This was his cousin, Meng Qiang's eldest daughter Meng Xiaojun, an employee of Xin'an City Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Company.

Meng Qiang has a son and a daughter. His elder daughter, Meng Xiaojun, was born in 1969, and his son, Meng Xiaogang, was born in 1972. One of them graduated from university and started working not long ago, while the other is still attending university.

"Who are you looking for?!" Meng Xiaojun suspiciously scanned Peng Yuanzheng.

"I'm looking for my mom, Meng Lin." Peng Yuanzheng said calmly.

Meng Xiaojun was taken aback for a moment, then the corner of her mouth twitched slightly, and she immediately looked at Peng Yuanzheng with disdain.

Because the two families didn't get along, this was Meng Xiaojun's first time seeing her aunt Meng Linsheng's son, that lowly person from the Peng family who was looked down upon by her father's generation.

Peng Yuanzheng's understanding of Meng Xiaojun was from the past, and Meng Xiaojun's later husband also worked in the government system, having had a few dealings with Peng Yuanzheng who worked in the district government office.

"Wait at the door, your mom will be out soon." Meng Xiaojun sneered and smiled proudly, turning to close the door.

Peng Yuanzheng suddenly pushed open the door and walked in.

Meng Xiaojun is a girl, he is tall and strong, pushing the door open by force, how can Meng Xiaojun possibly stop him.

Seeing him rush in, Meng Xiaojun took two steps back and was stunned for a moment.

Peng Yuanzheng rushed up the steps of Meng's house in two or three strides, pushed open the door with great force, and the door opened into the living room of Meng's house.

It was just a glance, but Peng Yuanzheng saw a scene that made his blood boil with anger and almost drove him mad:

On the small tea table between two single sofas, a photo of Meng Qingtao was placed. Meng Qiang and his wife sat on either side of the sofa with their legs crossed, while his mother, Meng Lin, knelt down, tears streaming down her face, her shoulders shaking slightly.

Meng Qiang maintained an official demeanor, silently fanning himself with a piece of paper; his wife had a look of disdain and was unmoved. Their youngest son, Meng Xiaogang, stood to the side with his arms crossed, looking unkind as he coldly smiled and pointed at Meng Lin with a mocking gesture.

Peng Yuanzheng was furious and enraged.

He had no idea what kind of humiliation his mother had suffered in the Meng family in her previous life, but today he saw it with his own eyes and felt a heart-wrenching pain.

The mother who had endured hardships and bitterness to raise him, a strong and proud woman who had never bowed her head to fate in her life, suffered such humiliation for the sake of her son!

"Mother! ——", Peng Yuanzheng shouted, a heartfelt cry filled with endless sorrow and anger from the depths of his soul.

Peng Yuanzheng suddenly appeared, and the Meng family had no time to react. Meng Lin, however, turned his head abruptly to look at his own son, with tears of shame and sorrow welling up again.

"Mom, get up! Let's go!" Peng Yuanzheng took a step forward and helped Meng Lin up.

Meng Lin struggled for a moment and forced a smile, "Yuan Zheng, this is your second uncle and aunt, don't you..."

Peng Yuanzheng glared at Meng Qiang and his wife, saying coldly, "Mom, we don't ask for favors from others. We don't have such relatives!"

Meng Qiang's wife, Zhang Mei Qi, stood up with a cold smile. "Since you don't have relatives like us, what did you two come here for today? Originally, although Dad said there was no such daughter and had cut off the relationship early on, after all, we are siblings born of the same mother. Since you've come to our home, we can't just ignore it, right? But look at your son's attitude!"

  "Good-for-nothing without any family education!"

Meng Xiaogang coldly rebuked from the side.

Peng Yuanzheng pointed at Meng Xiaojian with a cold tone, "Do you have family education? Aren't you a despicable person? Isn't your Meng family a despicable family?"

"You have family education, you are the son of the vice mayor - but in front of your parents, humiliate your own aunt, this is the family education of your Meng's family?"

"You're not some low-born thing, you come from a noble family, a renowned and wealthy clan. Look at what kind of virtue you have! Gluttonous and lazy, frivolous and shallow, a spoiled brat!"

"You Meng family are not the dregs of society, you are high society - but when your whole family was being criticized and suppressed, who agreed to marry my mom to my dad? It was him!"

"Rural earth bun Pengjia wild species... What a cultured and educated university president, intellectual, and renowned scholar! Don't forget, sixty or seventy years ago, he - that's him - was still a naked cowherd boy! Look down on farmers? Forgotten his roots?"

Peng Yuanzheng's anger grew as he spoke, and he suddenly raised his hand to point at the photo of Meng Qingtao on the small tea table. "You've all forgotten, every single one of you has forgotten - who was it that secretly took you to the hospital for treatment when you were being persecuted? It was my dad! And who was it that time and again saved up food and braved wind and rain to deliver meals to your family... still my dad!"

"At the most difficult time, when your Meng family was in disarray and everyone had turned against each other, my father stood by your side without hesitation... My father was tortured to death for protecting my mother and refusing to divorce her!"

"Alright, the turmoil is over, the Meng family has been rehabilitated, and you have become superior people again... Turn back and touch your own conscience to ask yourselves, what have you all done? Not only did you force my mother to remarry, but also forced her to abandon her own flesh and blood!"

"Is this what you cultured people, high-class people do?"

"A family without affection or righteousness, forgetting kindness and abandoning morality, what can a selfish and petty person be proud of? Who dares to humiliate my mother again, I will not rest until one of us dies!"

Peng Yuanzheng let out a loud and clear roar, the humiliation and anger accumulated from past lives to the present were transformed into a storm of verbal abuse, spewing out like a torrent, scolding Meng Qiang's family until they were covered in "dog blood", thoroughly venting his spleen.

"That's enough, shut up! Get out!" Meng Qiang could no longer hold back, and slammed his hand on the tea table, bellowing.
