Chapter Fifty-One: Before Enlisting

  After deciding to enlist next month, Jang Sung-won signed a new economic contract with Park Hyeong-ryeol, with all other terms remaining the same, except that the expiration date was extended by three years. Two of those years were compensation for the two years he would spend serving in the military, during which time he would be unable to fulfill his contractual obligations; and one year was as compensation for the economic losses he would cause the company.

  The signing of the new contract was initiated by Zhang Chengyuan, who has always been grateful for Park Byung-ryul's care and consideration over the years. This re-signing is a way to repay him. Faced with this unexpected joy, Park Byung-ryul was overjoyed, feeling that his judgment had not failed him. He thought to himself that he must continue to work hard, be Zhang Chengyuan's strong backing, and share in his joys and sorrows, so as to gain more of his trust.

  After that, Jang Sung-won informed his close friends about this decision, including Fin.k.l, Kim Tae-hee, Ha Ji-won, Yoon Eun-hye, Won Bin, Moon Geun-young and the whole family of Soo-young. To say that Jang Sung-won really has very few true friends, just those ones mentioned above. Although he has been in the industry for several years and got to know many seniors and juniors, most of them are just acquaintances and don't have deeper relationships. This is because he simply doesn't like socializing and attending gatherings, except when meeting with his real friends. As a result, he naturally has fewer friends!

  In college, due to frequent absences, I didn't make any close friends. The person I got along with the best was actually Kim Tae-hee, who was from the same management company, school and club as me.

  Kim Tae-hee had organized a women's skiing club with some close female friends from the same school and served as the captain.   Among the four girls, Lee Hyori and Sung Yuri were the most attractive to him. Lee Hyori was mature and sexy, with a strong charm that attracted men, and her cute movements in the tent on the mountain top last summer made him unforgettable; Sung Yuri was pure and lovely, gentle and warm, very tender and considerate towards him, and when he was with her, Jang Sung-won felt exceptionally warm and comfortable.

  Of course, Lee Jin and Yu Zhu Xian also have a special place in his heart, and are treated like family members. Compared to his biological father, it seems that the four sisters are more like his parents. In his daily life, when he's not working, his dressing style and personal problems are usually taken care of by the four sisters. For example, all the hats in his closet were chosen by Lee Hyori, his jeans and shirts were bought by Lee Jin, and after moving house last year, almost all of his household items were purchased through TV shopping by Sung Yu Ri. The health tea he drinks every day and the small pastries he eats daily are carefully made by Yu Zhu Xian. His daily life is inseparable from these four good sisters.

  Moreover, he had never thought that one day his four sisters would leave his life. However, now he has to think about it because after joining the army and entering the troops, he can no longer receive care from his sisters.

  But what worries Zhang Chengyuan more is that in the two years he's been away, the four charming sisters will have men pursuing them, boyfriends, and even get married and have children. The mere thought of it sends shivers down his spine. It's a known fact that no matter how loving a woman is, once she has a boyfriend or gets married, she'll inevitably find it hard to devote herself to taking care of her original siblings, at least not as wholeheartedly as before, because they have new objects of affection that require their care. What's more, Zhang Chengyuan and the Fin.k.l sisters aren't even biological siblings, so once they get married, he fears his relationship with them will immediately dissipate into thin air.

  Two years can sometimes feel very short, but sometimes it's long enough for a woman to get married and have children. This is absolutely not what Zhang Chengyuan wants to see, in his heart at this moment, the four girls of Fin.k.l all belong to him, for a lifetime, at least until he decides who to spend his life with, he won't let go, whoever wants to take them away will have to fight him till he doesn't dare appear in front of them again.

  That night, Fin.K.L, who was busy preparing for their fourth album, learned that Jang Sung-won was about to enlist and immediately took a leave of absence from the company to rush to Jang's apartment in Yeongdeungpo-gu, which he had rented just last July. The apartment was quite spacious, with around 100 pyeong, and seemed a bit luxurious for one person, but as a new base for Jang's contact and life with Fin.K.L, it excelled in being secretive and comfortable, and Jang didn't mind spending money on these two advantages.

  The door of the room was never locked, even when the four girls lived in, they didn't worry that Zhang Chengyuan would do anything bad, in their hearts, Zhang Chengyuan had always been very obedient and well-behaved, at most occasionally sneaking a kiss on their cheeks in the early morning or playfully pinching their buttocks. They just saw his behavior as a young boy's longing for the opposite sex during puberty.
