Introduction:
Dear Reader -
Thank you for embarking on an adventure in the name of science and discovery. My name is Reginald Cornelius Salamandrican III also known as "Reggie." This is a compilation of my life's work, and I am confident you will value every bit of it as much as I have.
You see, I am an explorer. I've traveled lands near and far. I've searched the Rubicon Isles and dove into the Axatl Caves, but my most significant breakthrough was my discovery of the Portallis. I recovered this ancient device while searching the ruins of an ancient shipwreck in Longsea.
The Portallis, when properly charged, can generate portals to other worlds. I've spent a quarter of my lifetime traveling to these worlds and learning all that I can about civilizations and creatures beyond my wildest dreams.
During my time, I've taken careful notes, documenting my encounters with creatures and beings of great wonder. This tome is the culmination of that work. It is my field guide to the fantastic. I hope you will enjoy learning what I've have learned in your pursuit of science.
Yours truly
Reggie

Entry #1: Oakworld
My first adventure took me to Oakworld, the eighth planet from its sun within the Sciuridae system. There I encountered Titus Flavius Squirrelicus, an imperial soldier in Legio II Andromicus under Emperor Felix Tiberius Deus Nucum, translated as Felix the God of Nuts and Acorns.
The author's narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
Titus is skilled with the sword, spear, axe, and knives. However, his true skill lies in his agility. Without a doubt, his race is the most nimble and athletic of any creature I've seen.

The village of Oaktown is set upon an ancient, groomed Oakwood tree. Two centuries of grooming and pruning provided the optimal conditions for a settlement.
He and his family treated me to a feast of acorns produced by the celestial tree.
During the festival, we even participated in the creation of art.
Titus rejoined his unit to travel to the capital city. I was allowed to accompany him with the permission of his commander.
Imperial Army
At the capital, I witnessed the favorite spectator sport: gladiatorial combat.
I also visited the Royal library and palace.

Before departing, I was able to see from a distance Emperor Felix Tiberius Deus Nucum.
