Chapter 2 The Glimmering Rite of Ocular Endowment

In a distant galaxy lies the planet Eyn, a highly advanced world with a vast technological infrastructure. The air on Eyn is crisp and metallic, filled with the scent of ozone and the hum of machinery. The planet's atmosphere is laced with the fumes of factories, and the taste of the air is sharp and acrid.

On the planet Eyn, technology has advanced to such a degree that the wealthy and well-connected can extend their lifespans by hundreds of years. The key to this technology lies in the development of advanced genetic manipulation techniques, which allow Eynians to enhance their DNA and repair cellular damage, effectively slowing down the aging process.

These techniques are highly sought after, but only accessible to a select few who can afford the exorbitant costs of the treatment. The rest of the population is left to age and die naturally, creating a stark divide between the haves and have-nots.

Eriana Morwen, a 600-year-old scientist, is one of the most respected members of Eyn's elite corporate sector. She works for one of the top five companies on the planet, overseeing the production and deployment of the planet's portal technology. The portals are used to conquer less advanced worlds, allowing Eyn to extract their resources and expand its influence across the galaxy.

Eriana had spent the better part of her life fighting against Eyn's oppressive regime, working her way up the ranks of the rebellion until she became second in command. She had seen firsthand the devastation and suffering caused by Eyn's policies as they conquered world after world, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.

But as Eriana rose through the ranks of the rebellion, she began to have doubts about their methods. She couldn't help but question the morality of their tactics, especially as she witnessed the toll they took on innocent lives. She started to wonder if the ends truly justified the means.

Despite her reservations, Eriana continued to support the rebellion and their efforts to overthrow Eyn's regime. However, she also began to take matters into her own hands, secretly seeking out the life-extending pills that Eyn was known for. She traveled to underground societies and made deals with black market dealers, all in an effort to extend her life so that she could continue fighting against the oppressive regime.

Over the years, Eriana watched as the rebellion slowly gained ground against Eyn's forces. But as they continued to conquer new worlds, she couldn't help but feel a growing sense of unease. The cost of their victory was becoming too high, and Eriana knew that something had to change.

Her doubts grow stronger when she is sent on a mission to the newly discovered planet Eyn-5. Here, she witnessed firsthand the devastation wrought by her planet's technological advancements, as the native population struggles to survive in the wake of their invasion.

Haunted by the suffering she has witnessed, Eriana becomes determined to find a way to stop the corporate greed and expansionism of her people. With the help of a renegade group of Eynian dissidents, she sets out on a dangerous mission to sabotage the portal technology and free the conquered worlds from Eyn's grasp.

In an attempt to bring about change, Eriana embarks on a dangerous mission to sabotage a remote research facility on a distant planet recently conquered by Eyn. With the help of a small group of like-minded dissidents, she infiltrates the facility and sets out to destroy the research being conducted there.

However, as they make their way through the facility, they accidentally activate a newly developed portal device, transporting Eriana, her partner Oxata, and the manager of the research facility to a faraway galaxy unlike any they have ever seen.

Eriana's heart raced as she stepped through the portal. She felt a rush of energy course through her body, and her vision blurred as the colors of the portal swirled around her. She could taste a metallic tang in the air, and the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end. The sensation was overwhelming, almost too much to bear, and for a moment she wondered if she had made a terrible mistake.

But then, just as suddenly as it had started, the sensation stopped. Eriana opened her eyes to find herself standing in a new world, unlike any she had ever seen. Despite the sun shining brightly in the clear blue sky, Eriana’s gaze was fixed on the horizon. There, a surreal display of auroras captivated their attention, illuminating the daytime sky with hues of pink, green, and purple.

The colors were not as vivid as they might have been at night, but the sight was no less awe-inspiring. It was as if a magical veil had been draped over the sky, turning an otherwise ordinary day into something extraordinary.

Eriana stood in wonder, taking in the beauty of the auroras as they twisted and swirled in a mesmerizing dance. They couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for being able to witness such a breathtaking sight, and they knew that it was a moment they would treasure forever.

The air was thick with the sweet scent of exotic flowers. The ground beneath her feet was soft and spongy, and she could feel the warmth of the sun on her skin.

As she looked around, Eriana realized that something was wrong. She felt lighter than she had before, almost weightless. She looked down at her hands and gasped in shock. They were tiny, childlike hands, with delicate fingers and smooth, unblemished skin. Eriana's shock increased as she looked down at her body, realizing that she was completely naked, as if she had just been born. She quickly looked around for any sign of her partner, Oxata, and gasped in relief as she saw that they were both in the same state.

Eriana turned to her partner, Oxata, who was standing beside her. "What's happening?" she asked, her voice coming out as a high-pitched squeak.

Oxata looked just as shocked as she felt. "I don't know," she said, her voice also sounding younger than usual. "Something must have happened during the portal transfer."

Eriana noticed a faint blush creeping up Oxata's cheeks, which made her heart skip a beat. Despite being together for several years, Eriana still found it endearing how easily Oxata got embarrassed. "Don't worry," Eriana said, giving Oxata's hand a gentle squeeze. "We'll figure this out together."

Eriana felt a pang of fear in her chest. She had traveled through portals many times before, but she had never experienced anything like this. She looked around, trying to get her bearings. They appeared to be in the middle of a dense forest, with no sign of civilization in sight.

Suddenly, a rustling noise caught their attention. They turned to see a group of creatures emerging from the trees. They were unlike anything Eriana had ever seen before, with bright green skin and large, luminous eyes. They looked at Eriana and Oxata curiously, tilting their heads to the side.

Eriana and Oxata were both startled by the sudden appearance of the alpha creature with pink and luminous skin. As it trotted forward, its eyes fixed on the two kids, they could feel their hearts pounding in their chests.

The creature then unexpectedly spat a transparent liquid that was sparkling with glitters, covering Oxata's small body all over. The little girl began to panic, and Eriana felt a sense of fear and helplessness wash over her as she tried to figure out what was happening.

Oxata's screams filled the air as she was suddenly warped inwards, disappearing from sight. Eriana's eyes widened with shock and confusion, not knowing what to do or where to turn. The colorful auroras and enchanted forest suddenly felt ominous and unfamiliar, and Eriana felt a deep sense of loneliness and vulnerability.

She couldn't help but wonder where her friend had been taken and whether she would ever see her again. She felt a mix of emotions, including fear, sadness, and anger, and was uncertain of what to do next. All she could do was stand frozen, gazing at the spot where Oxata had vanished, and hoping that someone or something would come to her rescue.

The pink alpha creature stood before Eriana, its bright pink skin glowing in the sunlight. Its long, flowing mane shimmered with every movement, like a field of iridescent flowers swaying in the breeze. Its body was lean and muscular, yet graceful, as if every step it took was a dance.

But the most striking features of the creature were its two long, sharp canines, jutting out from its upper jaw like the fangs of a saber-toothed tiger. They gleamed in the light, and Eriana couldn't help but feel a mix of awe and fear at their sight.

As the creature approached them, Eriana noticed its eyes for the first time. They were a deep, mesmerizing shade of purple, and seemed to hold within them the secrets of the universe. Eriana couldn't look away, even though a part of her wanted to run as far away from the creature as possible.

As the creature drew nearer, Eriana noticed other unique features that set it apart from any other creature she had ever seen. It had large, feathery wings, like those of an eagle, but instead of feathers, they seemed to be made of delicate, shimmering scales. And when the creature flapped its wings, it created a gentle breeze that carried with it the scent of flowers and the sounds of distant bells.

Its fur, which was a soft shade of pink, seemed to change color in the light, shimmering and glistening with every movement. And when the creature opened its mouth, Eriana saw rows of sharp, gleaming teeth, like those of a shark. She shivered, wondering what kind of predator this creature was.

But as the creature drew nearer, Eriana sensed that it meant no harm. In fact, there was a sense of calm and serenity emanating from the creature, like it was a guardian of the forest, protecting all who lived within it.

Involuntarily, Eriana's hand entered the creature's eye, a sharp pain shot through its body, causing it to growl in distress. The lesser creatures behind it were clearly agitated, ready to attack at any moment.

Suddenly, Eriana felt a strange and powerful energy surging through her body. It was like nothing she had ever experienced before. The black substance from the creature's eye was flowing into her, moving up her arm and spreading throughout her body.

As the energy flowed into her, Eriana's senses were overwhelmed. Her vision became sharper, colors brighter, and shapes more defined. She could see every detail of the creature before her, the patterns on its fur and the gleam in its eyes.

The energy also affected her sense of touch. Eriana could feel the energy moving through her body, tingling and pulsing as it went. Her muscles tensed and relaxed involuntarily, as if the energy was reshaping her from the inside out.

The air around Eriana was filled with a strange and heady scent, like the fragrance of a hundred different flowers all at once. The scent was so strong that she could taste it on her tongue, like a sweet and tangy nectar.

And as the energy flowed into her, Eriana heard a soft, almost musical hum, like the sound of a thousand voices singing in harmony. It was a beautiful and haunting sound, filling her with a sense of peace and tranquility.

Eriana's eyes widened as she looked around the thick magical jungle. She felt a strange sensation in her right eye, as if it was pulsing with energy. The black color of her eyes was like the dark expanse of space, speckled with tiny stars.

Suddenly, Eriana was jolted awake, and her eyes returned to their natural brown color. She gasped for breath, feeling the energy inside her body settle into a new rhythm. She could feel the warmth of the jungle air on her skin, the coolness of the forest floor beneath her feet.

The scent of the jungle was heady and intoxicating, like a blend of exotic spices and blooming flowers. Eriana could feel the humidity in the air, making her skin glisten with a light sheen of sweat.

As she dropped to her knees, tears streamed down her face, and her senses were overwhelmed with the knowledge of what had happened to her. She could hear the soft rustling of the leaves and the distant call of exotic birds.

Eriana could feel the weight of her loneliness as she cried in the magical forest. She was left alone by the mythical creature that had gifted her with the energy, and she was unsure of what her new abilities meant. The darkness of the jungle seemed to close in around her, a physical representation of the emotional turmoil she was feeling.

She had become connected to this creature and the natural world in a way that she had never thought possible. And as she stood there, in the midst of this magical moment, she knew that her life would never be the same again.
