It was an embarrassing taxi ride for Sabastian. Scolded by Camie, teased by Davis and Jason, he sat uncomfortably all the way there, yet felt touched that they cared about him

  His own head space apparently was filled with negative emotions of his own making.

  Although what had happened between himself, Theresa and Layton was not pleasant, it wasn't malicious and he should just suck it up and move on. There are other fish in the sea or so Camie said

  As they neared the "Cathedral of Bones" of Evora, Sabastian felt uncomfortable and as the cab approached nearer, the discomfort for even worse

  They paid the cab driver and Sabastian was literally pale with an uneasiness that he couldn't explain as the atmosphere suddenly became solemn

  The Capela dos Ossos, the "Cathedral of Bones" was a small chapel built in the 16th Century, situated right next to the larger Church of Saint Francis, a catholic church

  There were crowds entering and exiting the building and they approached to join in entering

  But as Sabastian looked at the entrance, he felt his gut wrenching as Jason walked ahead of them towards the front door

  Above the chapel door was engraved a sign. This message, written in Portuguese reads “Nós ossos que aqui estamos, pelos vossos esperamos”. He felt a sense of dread when he translated the sign using Esperanto and It read "Our bones that are here wait for yours"

  "Sabastian? Are you alright? If you're scared, I'll hold your hand if you want" Camie said

  "I'll hold your hand too, if you want" Davis teased, imitating Camie's concerned tone

  "No.. maybe you guys go ahead" Sabastian said, feeling feint

  "Come on. You're not afraid of ghosts, are you?" Camie said, taking his hand and pulling him in

  Sabastian didn't resist, but he seemed to feel worse and worse with every step

  "Come on, bro. Don't be scared" Davis said, putting his arm around Sabastian's shoulders as he looked like he was about to run away

  "Wow! Would you look at that!" Davis said as he entered the building

  Skulls and bones decorated the walls and pillars and he went to take selfies with Jason, who was already taking plenty of photos

  "Let's take a selfie together. Where's your phone? It's newer than mine" Camie said as she pulled Sabastian in

  But he fumbled to look for his mobile phone when he realized that he had left it in the hotel room, still charging!

  "Hey, go over there and pose. I'll take photos of the two of you" Jason said teasingly

  Camie smiled and pulled Sabastian towards the altar of bones at the front of the building

  Sabastian looked at the shrine and suddenly he froze

  Nobody else could see anything out of the ordinary happening, but Sabastian saw all the skulls in the building suddenly opened their mouths and black smoke shot out from them

  Sabastian looked on in horror as the ominous black smoke gathered and congealed forming a dense cloud of utter darkness

  Sabastian screamed as the smoke suddenly headed towards his face

  Unable to react in time, the dense black cloud rushed into his mouth, nose and eyes

  uncontrollably as he collapsed backwards, cracking his head on the floor

  While he lay facing the roof, the cloud disappeared into his face

  While nobody else could see the black smoke, everyone could hear the loud crack as Sabastian's head cracked onto the floor

  "Sabastian!" Camie shouted as she crouched onto the floor to check on him

  "What happened?" Jason asked, running to Davis who was crouched on the floor with Camie, trying to help Sabastian

  "I don't know! He suddenly screamed and fainted!" Davis said

  Several other visitors and a priest came running to see what was going on

  "Sabastian? No! He's not breathing!" Camie panicked

  "CPR, start CPR" Jason said

  "Do you know how?" Davis asked

  "I'll do it!" Camie said as she started chest compressions and putting her lips to his and blowing

  She had taken a lifesaving certificate when she worked as a lifeguard last year, to save money for this trip

  But this time was the first time she's used the skills she learnt on a live person

  Jason and Davis watched helplessly as Camie tried her best

  Camie refused gave up, even after nearly twenty minutes without any response, crying while she performed CPR

  The crowd gathering around them didn't help at all and the priest that arrived only chased them out to prevent them from taking photos

  Minutes later, paramedics arrived and saw Camie performing CPR

  The paramedic placed his hand on her shoulder, gesturing to her to back away as they took over

  He saw that she was performing CPR correctly but there was to response

  He also had guessed that Sabastian was already dead as his face was so pale with his lips already blue

  But he took out the defibrillator anyway and gave Sabastian a few shocks to try and restart his heart

  As a paramedic, he knew that in emergencies, the family and friends of the victim would want him to make every attempt to save the victim

  So he tried several times more than necessary and smell of burnt flesh emanated from the burn on Sabastian's chest

  Finally, the paramedic shook his head. There was nothing more he could do

  "No!" Camie cried in grief as Davis held her back

  Jason put his hand on her shoulder while he wondered what to tell Sabastian's parents

  They didn't even know what had happened here today

  The paramedics loaded Sabastian onto a gurney and was about to bring him away when Camie ran and jumped onto Sabastian's chest, hugging him tightly, not wanting to let go

  Not caring if anyone saw her. she kissed him passionately on the lips

  The paramedics looked on with pity and her two friends were shocked

  Suddenly, Sabastian took a loud gasp of air, as he started breathing!

  Camie actually screamed in shock as the paramedics dropped their equipment on the ground

  Her kiss brought him back to life? Was this a fairy tale?

  "Ca..mie?" Sabastian asked in a soft voice, not knowing what was going on

  "Oh Sabastian...." Camie said as she kissed him on his lips again

  Both Jason and Davis were more than shocked, both from their friend coming back to life and from the tomboy Camie kissing Sabastian

  Sabastian was too weak to resist and Camie continued kissing him

  Finally, the paramedics gestured for her to stop as Sabastian still needed medical attention

  He was loaded into an ambulance and Camie followed him to the hospital

  Jason and Davis got into a cab to follow the ambulance to the hospital while frantically calling their friends.

  Two hours later, the rest of the group arrived at the Hospital do Espírito Santo de évora in Evora

  They had rushed up here once they heard the news

  "How is he?" Theresa asked worriedly when the first cab arrived with her and Layton

  "They.. are still doing tests on him. He suffered several burns on his chest" Davis said

  "Burns? How?" Theresa asked

  "Actually it's from the defibrillator when they tried to revive him. He had died and his heart stopped" Davis answered

  "Yeah, Camie was trying CPR for nearly 20 minutes" Jason said

  "Camie?" Theresa said before seeing Camie fast asleep on a chair nearby

  She looked exhausted and emotionally drained by the ordeal

  Davis explained what happened and the sequence of events after. But he didn't mention Camie kissing him. There was enough drama lately between Sabastian and Theresa

  An hour later, the whole group was allowed to visit Sabastian in his room

  "You look frightful" Layton said as he led the group in

  Indeed Sabastian looked awful with his bloodshot eyes as his blood vessels had all burst in his eyes. This was sometime caused by the defibrillator

  "Hi guys" Sabastian said in a whisper

  "How... how are you feeling?" Theresa asked

  "I'm ok I guess. Nothing too serious. But they want me to stay overnight to observe me" Sabastian answered

  He had gone through hours of different tests, and they found nothing seriously wrong with him. The burns and his the burst blood vessels in both eyes would heal by itself

  "Do you know what happened?" Theresa asked

  ""I don't know. I suddenly passed out But the doctors said I had died" he answered

  By now he had remembered about the black smoke coming from the many skulls. However, since nobody else mentioned anything creepy like that, he kept it to himself

  Jason recollected the story once again for those who missed Davis' earlier rendition

  "Camie was the one that saved you. She gave you CPR for over 20 minutes" Davis said

  "Really? I guess I owe my life to her" Sabastian said

  He realized that Davis seemed to be covering the fact that Camie kissed him in front of the rest. Her lips tasted like cherry

  Theresa didn't look happy but didn't say anything and smiled. She knew that Camie had a crush on him when they were younger. Camie had admitted her crush on Sabastian once while staying overnight one of their pajama parties

  But this was way before Sabastian and Theresa had gotten together

  They continued discussing when the topic moved back to talking about their trip, and whether he can continue as they were leaving for Madrid tomorrow afternoon

  "I don't know when I will be discharged. But I hope I can rejoin with you guys" Sabastian said

  Actually, most of the planning for the trip was done by Sabastian and Theresa for more than a year

  After Portugal, they were supposed to visit Spain, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, Italy and finally finish off in England

  This was only the second day in their planned month long trip, so it would be a waste to stop here. But if there was something seriously wrong with him, surely he couldn't continue

  "I have been talking to my parents. They were so worried, but if I get a clean bill of health and get discharged before you reach France, I can continue the trip. If not, there probably is still something wrong with me and I will have to go home for more tests" Sabastian said

  They talked a while more before they decided to leave as their hotel in Lisbon was 2 hours away from here

  Sabastian was surprised that Theresa gave him a kiss on his cheek before leaving. He had not had any contact with her since she got together with Layton!

  The whole group was more surprised when Camie kissed him on the cheek just as they were leaving

  "Was she in love with me? Camie had kissed him a few times now" Sabastian thought as he lay in bed by himself

  Sabastian was finally discharged on the third day. The doctors couldn't find anything wrong with him so they only prescribed some eyedrops for his eyes and the nurses taught him how to change the bandages for his chest

  It was fortunate that Portugal practiced socialized medicine. Although as visitors he didn't get free medical care, it was still subsidized and he only had to pay Eu800 for the ambulance services and the two day stay at the hospital

  He took a 2 hour car ride by himself back to the hotel. The rest of the group had already flown to Madrid

  He packed up and checked out, planning to meet up with them. He had to take a car as the doctor advised him not to fly if possible, as the air pressure might worsen his eye

  So with the help of the receptionist, he hired a car and driver. It cost a few hundred Euro, but it was only slightly more expensive than if he took a flight to Madrid!

  "Why are you not travelling with your friends? They told us you were checking in later as you had an accident in the Capela dos Ossos?" the receptionist asked

  "Yes... well I apparently fainted" Sabastian admitted.

  "Oh! So which one was this?" the receptionist asked

  "Which what?" he asked back

  "Which Capela dos Ossos?" the receptionist asked again

  "There.... there is more than one?" Sabastian was shocked
