Chapter 11 Handkerchief
It's almost noon time.
Gujalan still hasn't come out of the building.
Li Cong and Zheng Guang walked out of the building side by side at this time.
"We're here to take over, you two go eat in the cafeteria." Li Cong said.
Zhang Biao nodded: "Thank you." After finishing speaking, he lifted his foot and walked into the hall.
Lin San stood still on the spot.
Li Cong looked at Lin San with a puzzled expression: "Lin San, aren't you going to go eat?"
Lin San shook his head: "I'm not hungry."
Li Cong was taken aback: "You've been standing for a whole morning, aren't you hungry?"
"Not hungry, thanks for coming to relieve me," Lin San smiled and said.
"Not you, even if you're not hungry, you must be tired. Why don't you go to the hall and take a rest?" Li Cong said kindly.
"It's all right, I'm not tired at all, I can still continue to stand guard," Lin San said.
"But..." Li Cong wanted to say something more.
"I'm really not hungry or tired, you all go in and rest," said Lin San.
Zheng Guang pulled Li Cong: "I'll replace Zhang Biao on sentry duty, you go in and rest, you've been helping the sales staff move things for a whole morning, you're tired too."
Li Cong hesitated for a moment, glanced at Lin San, nodded: "Alright, I'll go in and rest for a while, call me if there's anything."
"Alright, you go in quickly." Zheng Guang smiled and said.
Li Cong said hello to Lin San and then returned to the hall.
Zheng Guangze stood in Zhang Biao's position, smiling at Lin San: "Lin San, I really didn't expect it, your physical strength is so good, standing for a whole morning, not tired at all."
Lin San smiled: "I guess it's the first day of work, and energy is relatively abundant."
"Where does your family live?" Zheng Guang asked.
"I live on Qingping Road," Lin San replied.
"Oh, what a great place! It's in the city center and transportation is very convenient." Zheng Guang said with some envy.
"Traffic is convenient, but unfortunately the house I live in is too old." Lin San shook his head slightly. The building where Lin San lived had a history of over 30 years and was considered an older residential building in Blue City. The exterior of the building was already dilapidated, with several walls partially collapsed. Some time ago, there was a rumor that a real estate company planned to acquire Lin San's old building and rebuild it, which made Lin San very happy, looking forward to receiving demolition compensation every day to buy a new house. However, after waiting for several months, there was no news at all. Later, after inquiring, he found out that the real estate developer had given up on acquiring the old building due to high acquisition costs and low profits, leaving Lin San's excitement in vain.
"Be content with what you have, there are many people who can't afford a house now. You're already very lucky to have one to live in," said Zheng Guang.
"Where do you live?" Lin San asked.
"I'm an outsider, I rent a house in the city." Zheng Guang replied.
"What? You rent a house?" Lin San was taken aback.
Zheng Guang sighed: "I'm a rural person, after graduating from junior college, I came to the city to work. I thought it would be easier to make money in the city than in the countryside, but it's not that simple. To find a job in the city, you need a diploma. I'm just an ordinary junior college graduate, and I couldn't get into a big company. In the end, I had no choice but to become a porter, then delivered purified water to residential areas, and finally came here to be a security guard."
Zheng Guang's luck was really bad. After graduating from junior college, he ran to the city to make a name for himself, but reality slapped him in the face. A young man with no background, no skills, and no money wanted to stand firm in the prosperous Blue City, it was just too difficult. Within a month, Zheng Guang spent all his living expenses, and finally, to survive, he had to go to the dock to work as a porter, working over ten hours a day for dozens of yuan in wages, barely solving the problem of food and clothing. For a period of time, Zheng Guang was homeless on the streets until several months later when his life situation slightly improved.
Nowadays, society is so cruel. Many ambitious young university students graduate and rush to big cities with high aspirations, eager to make a name for themselves. However, after experiencing the hardships of society, many people become disillusioned and disheartened. Only a tiny minority of people with perseverance and endurance can stand firm in the city.
"In the city, apart from a slightly better living environment, all other aspects are very poor. Finding a job is even more difficult than in rural areas." Lin San has lived in Lanzhou City for over 20 years and is still relatively familiar with the situation there.
"Yes, I've made up my mind. I'll work hard for a while, save some money and then go back home to do some small business." Zheng Guang has been fed up with staying in the city all these years and plans to accumulate some savings and start his own business back in his hometown.
"This idea of yours is great! Being your own boss is much better than working for others." Lin San said with a smile.
"I think so too." Zheng Guang was also an ambitious young man who didn't want to work for the rest of his life.
The two were chatting happily when Zhang Biao walked out and wiped his mouth: "Zheng Guang, I'm full, you can go back now."
Zheng Guang nodded and said to Lin San: "We'll talk again when we have the chance." After finishing speaking, he turned around and walked into the hall.
Zhang Biao stood at the door, again striking a flagpole pose, his body straight and his eyes fixed ahead, not speaking or making a sound, just like a wooden stake.
Lin San glanced at Zhang Biao, pouted his mouth and thought to himself: How did he end up partnering with a wooden lump like him? It's really frustrating!
"Rumble... Rumble..." Lin San's stomach suddenly emitted a loud noise.
Lin San gently rubbed his flat stomach and secretly smiled: I'm so hungry! When Li Cong came to take over earlier, Lin San was already both hungry and tired. However, he was afraid that if he went to the cafeteria to eat, Gu Jialan would leave the company. In order to return the handkerchief to Gu Jialan as soon as possible, Lin San decided to endure it and not eat dinner.
Time flies quickly, and it's already past 3 pm.
Lin San stood at the door, his body swaying back and forth. He had been exposed to the sun for a whole day and had gone hungry for a whole day. Even though Lin San was strong and sturdy, he could hardly stand it anymore.
"Ding ding ding......" A high-heeled shoe stepped on the ground and made a sound at the door.
Lin San suddenly felt a jolt, turned his head to look, and his eyes lit up at once. Gu Jialan was carrying a delicate small bag, walking out of the building, and had already walked down the stairs while Lin San was still in a daze.
At this time, a Mercedes-Benz car slowly drove over and stopped in front of Gu Jialan.
Gujalan stretched out his hand to open the car door and was about to get in.
Lin San suddenly came back to his senses and hastily shouted: "Wait!!" After finishing, Lin San ran down from the steps and arrived at Gu Jialan's side.
Gujalan was taken aback and looked at Lin San suspiciously: "What's going on?"
Lin San had never heard Gula Ran speak before, her voice was soft and gentle, it sounded very comfortable in his ears.
"What's wrong with you?" Seeing Lin San staring blankly at her, Gu Jialan furrowed her brow.
"Ah!" Lin San came back to his senses, took out the handkerchief from his pocket and handed it over to Gu Jialan: "Gu... Miss Gu, this handkerchief is yours?"
"Huh? How did this handkerchief end up in your hands? I discovered it was missing this afternoon and thought I'd lost it."
"It was I who picked it up from the entrance of the building." Lin San hastily explained.
"Oh, it was dropped at the entrance of the building." Gu Jialan nodded.
"This handkerchief is finely made, and the embroidered flowers are very beautiful. I think Miss Gu must have liked it very much... You take this handkerchief." Lin San handed the handkerchief forward.
Gu Jialan hesitated for a moment, then said: "That's right, I really like this handkerchief. This afternoon, when I found it was gone, I was sad for a while, but... never mind, I'll give this handkerchief to you."
Lin San was stunned: "Miss Gu, you just said you liked this handkerchief very much, why don't you want it now?"
Gujialan looked at Lin San and said: "Because this handkerchief has been touched by a man."
"Ah?" Lin San was stunned: "Gu Miss, I..."
"I have a habit, my things are never allowed to be touched by men, not even my father. I really like this handkerchief, but since you've touched it, I won't want it anymore." Gu Jialan said.
"Not... Miss Guo, I can take it to the dry cleaners and wash off all my fingerprints..." Lin San said hastily.
"No need, the handkerchief has a flaw, even if it's dry cleaned ten times, it can't erase the fact. Since you picked up the handkerchief, it means you have a fate with it, so I'll give it to you." After finishing speaking, she turned around and sat back into the car.
The Mercedes drove away slowly.
Lin San stood there with a handkerchief in his hand, staring blankly in the direction where the Mercedes-Benz had driven away, and he was completely stunned.
"Lin San!" A shout came from behind him.
Lin San turned his head and found that it was Zhou Tian who was calling him.
Zhou Tian walked down from the stairs: "Lin San, why aren't you standing guard at the door properly? What are you doing here?"
"I... I picked up Miss Gu's handkerchief. Just now, Miss Gu came out of the building and I plan to return it to her." Lin San said.
Zhou Tian looked at the handkerchief in Lin San's hand and said: "Is this really Miss Gu's handkerchief?"
Lin San nodded: "Yes, but Miss Gu..."
"What's wrong with Miss Gu?" Zhou Tian asked.
"Miss Guo said she didn't want it anymore and gave it directly to me," Lin San said.
"Give it to you? Do you have a relationship with Miss Gu?" Zhou Tian was taken aback.
Lin San smiled wryly: "With my identity, how could I possibly have a relationship with Miss Gu?"
"Since we didn't have a close relationship, why did Miss Gu give you her handkerchief?" Zhou Tian asked in puzzlement.
Lin San hesitated: "I... I'm not sure either." Lin San didn't know how to explain it to Zhou Tian, he couldn't say that because he had touched the handkerchief, Gu Jialan didn't want it anymore.
"Alright, since Miss Gu has given you the handkerchief, take good care of it. Now go and stand guard at the entrance immediately, and stop running around randomly." Zhou Tian ordered.
Lin San nodded: "I know."
Zhou Tian added a few more words of advice before turning around and leaving.
Lin San stood at the door, staring at the handkerchief in his hand with a complicated mood. He had been hungry for a whole day and finally waited for Gu Jialan to come out, but he never expected that Gu Jialan would not want it. Lin San let out a light sigh and muttered to himself: "A thousand gold misses are just a thousand gold misses, their habits are different from ordinary people. Such a good handkerchief is not wanted just because someone else has touched it...". Lin San thought for half a day but couldn't think of an appropriate word to describe Gu Jialan.
Lin San carefully folded the handkerchief and put it in his bosom, no matter what, this handkerchief was Gu Jialan's thing, Lin San must take good care of it.
It's four o'clock.
The second group of security guards arrived on time for their shift change.
Lin San couldn't hold on any longer, and as soon as the security guard from the second shift arrived, he immediately changed out of his uniform and hastily left the company. He then found a ramen shop and ordered two large bowls of noodles, wolfing them down voraciously.
This day really starved Lin San badly.
After finishing two big bowls of ramen, Lin San stretched out his hand to touch his round belly and let out a gentle sigh: "Comfortable!"
After resting for a while, Lin San got up to settle the bill and left the ramen shop. Then he found a supermarket, bought several bottles of Er Guo Tou, and took the bus back home.
Guangyuanzi was pacing back and forth anxiously in the living room, when Lin San pushed open the door and came in. He hastily went to greet him, snatched the wine from Lin San's arms and started drinking.
Lin San closed the door, changed into slippers, and sat down on the sofa. He picked up a diagram of human acupoints and flipped through it once, then closed his eyes and silently recited all the acupoints from memory. Not to mention Lin San's talent, but at least his perseverance was good. Having made up his mind to study Xianfa, he devoted himself wholeheartedly to it. He had basically finished researching human acupoints and could try practicing the Xianfa in the small booklet. Just thinking about being able to practice Xianfa made Lin San's heart feel particularly excited - he was going to become a god too!
A few bottles of wine were soon all stored in Guangyuanzi's belly, and Guangyuanzi wiped his mouth and said with a lingering taste: "Why did you only buy so few bottles today?"
Lin San looked at Guang Yuanzi and said: "I also want to buy more for you, but I don't have the money."
Guangyuan furrowed his brow: "You always say you have no money, how about this, take me out for a spin and I'll help you make some money!"
