Chapter 5 As It Is

Chapter 5: Is It Really So?

"That Officer Liu, you go talk to him and tell him I want him to do me a favor, two days and one night, 50,000 yuan," said the man in his forties.

Officer Liu shook his head and said, "I won't do it! Last time I let a few second-generation officials into the bureau to collect him, I went and could only make things worse! This person doesn't have any complicated relationships, the only ones are his parents in the mountain village, who haven't seen the world, even if something happens, 100,000 or 200,000 yuan would be enough to settle it!"

"What a joke! My brother thinks it's his good fortune to have him, and there are many people who want to serve my brother." A young man next to him said, from the look on their faces, the two men looked similar, they should be brothers, but the younger one had a frivolous expression.

If Jin Hu read the newspaper, he would know that the older one was named Xu Mao, the boss of a large hotel in Jianglin City, an American Chinese, who appeared to be an investor on the surface but was actually the head of the American Chinese Youth Association in secret, controlling part of the powder route from the Golden Triangle to China and then to the United States. However, the American Chinese Youth Association never sold powder domestically, but instead transported it to the United States as a wholesaler, wholesaling it to South America or white gangs. The younger one was named Xu Sheng, Xu Mao's younger brother, who was extremely lecherous and relied on his brother for living like a parasite.

Xu Mao looked at his brother and said, "Just watch and listen, don't interrupt! No one thinks you're mute." Xu Sheng immediately shut his mouth after being scolded by his brother. Then he turned around and said to the police officer, "I'll take care of the rest, thank you!" After that, he nodded slightly at his brother.

Xu Sheng took out a paper package from the bag he was carrying and handed it to Officer Liu. Officer Liu smiled awkwardly: "How can I accept this! I just took money from your hand!" He rubbed his hands together after saying that.

"You're short of money, take it and use it first!" Xu Mao smiled: "In the future, my business will still need Officer Liu to take care of it more!"

"Then I'll take it, if there's anything else just let me know." Officer Liu smiled and took the package, looked at it for a moment, and his smile grew even brighter. As soon as the car stopped by the side of the road, he immediately opened the door and got out.

Looking at Officer Liu's back and forth figure, Xu Sheng turned his head to ask his older brother: "What use is this old gambler? A deputy director of a small police station, do we need to be so polite, and he even played a trick to kill someone with a borrowed knife. It seems that this kid has made Liu very unhappy!"

Xu Mao leaned his head against the back seat: "We're doing business differently now, it's all about building relationships, don't take money too seriously, how to spend money is also a skill, when you really understand it, you can go out and make a name for yourself". After finishing speaking, he took a glance at his brother's expressionless face, sighed, and closed his eyes to rest.

"What about the person just now?" Xu Sheng asked his brother.

Xu Mao kept his eyes closed: "You go and handle this matter, Ding Shi. First, find out more about the situation with this kid. If it's really like Liu Ju said, bring him to see me in two days' time. If not, we can have a good chat with Liu."

The driver in front nodded: "Alright! Boss!"

"Brother! Which one of Lu Liang, Qi Bin and Zhao Yong do you think is the traitor?" Xu Sheng asked Xu Mao.

"You'll know in two days," he said, then turned to the driver in front of him and said, "Drive back!"

Jin Hu was naturally unaware of the things in the car, a net that he couldn't dodge had fallen on his own head.

Yu Qin's matter went very smoothly. Jin Hu returned to the construction site and told the boss's wife, who agreed to let Yu Qin come and try out. After Jin Hu made a phone call, Yu Qin came over and cooked two dishes, and the boss's wife agreed to hire her. Jin Hu then drove the company car to help Yu Qin and her mother move their belongings from the rental house, and they were busy for more than two hours before everything was settled.

When it was time for dinner, everyone praised Yuqin's cooking skills without exception. With Yuqin's little daughter at home, colleagues took turns teasing the little girl and chatting with her. The little one quickly became familiar with everyone after a few rounds of conversation. This meal had fewer awkward moments and more warm laughter.

Little girl holding a small bowl, the bowl piled with snacks given by colleagues, while using her hand to grab and eat, she turned her head to Old Qi and said: "Grandpa Qi! The beans are really delicious!"

Old Qi scowled: "What's with the 'Qi Grandpa'! From now on, call me Uncle Qi. If it weren't for not having any children of my own!" Childless Old Qi suddenly took a liking to little Nangnang.

"Old Qi! You're an old cucumber painted green, still calling me uncle! Calling you Grandpa Little Doll wasn't wrong at all!" Tian Yougen said with a smile.

Lao Qi glanced at Tian Yougen, just wanting to refute him, when he heard Nangnang call out "Uncle", and immediately had no time to bother with Tian Yougen anymore. He put a small piece of ribs from his bowl into Nangnang's small bowl.

The little girl turned her head and took a glance at her mother who was eating on the side, then nodded to Yu Qin before sweetly saying thank you to Old Qi, whose old face was filled with wrinkles.

Jin Hu was eating while listening to his friends and little girl having fun. He had just taken two bites when he heard his phone ringing.

He fished out the phone from his pocket and answered it: "Hè Wū, what's up?" Hè Wū was Zhōu Hè Wū, a good-natured kid from their hometown who had taken the college entrance exam with Jìn Hǔ. Since middle school, Jìn Hǔ had been looking out for him because he couldn't bear to see him being bullied.

"Brother Tiger! I got my first month's salary, and I'd like to invite you out for dinner tonight!" Zou He Ming said happily.

"Isn't it almost 7 o'clock? You're still on probation, so try to get along with your colleagues more. Don't be like a mute. When can't we eat?"

"Brother Tiger! I think they look down on me a bit," said Zou He Ming with a timid tone.

"Take some money and dress yourself up properly, don't be stingy in this aspect! As long as they don't drive you away, just stick around and it'll get better over time, your face will thicken."

"Hmm! I know." Zou He Ming replied: "Will you still have dinner tonight?"

"I've already eaten, I'll treat you sometime later. If the salary is not enough, just let me know, I don't need to use much money here," said Jin Hu.

"That's enough! You still owe me from last time, I'm going to hang up now, see you later! Tiger brother"

"Hmm" Jin Hu hung up the phone.

"Hey, Tiger, your little friend called again?" Tian Yougen asked with a smile.

Jin Hu nodded and said: "Yes, this is too timid. When talking to people, you blush, how can you be a lawyer in the future?"

Lao Qi looked at Jin Hu and asked: "Old Tiger, why are you so good to him?"

Jin Hu was taken aback, "Ah, yes, I think I've said it to others before, when they weren't bothering me, I felt like I should take care of him, and then it just became a habit: 'He's always following me, so I'll just take care of him'."

Everyone finished eating and took a short rest before continuing their work.

Two days passed and after dinner one evening, Jinhu heard someone calling his name at the door: "Jinhu! Someone is looking for you outside!"

Jin Hu was stunned, put down the car in his hand, went to the downstairs gate, saw a Bentley stopped at the door, such a luxurious car, attracted all the workers to put down their work, stretched their necks and looked.

At a glance, he didn't recognize himself. Jin Hu said, "I don't know you, mistaken person?" After finishing, he turned his head and wanted to leave.

A tall man standing beside the car stretched out his hand to block Jin Hu's path: "Jin Hu! From Jiangbian Province, Mingshan City, 22 years old this year! Now there are only two relatives at home, father and mother."

Jin Hu was taken aback and looked at the big man: "What are you looking for me?"

"My name is Ding Shi, our boss wants to see you," said the big man to Jin Hu.

"I don't want to see your boss!" Jin Hu said, trying to push away Ding Shi's hand, but with a light push, he surprisingly couldn't push him away.

Ding Shi took a step forward: "Our boss wants to see you, and you don't want anything to happen to the people on the construction site, do you?" After finishing speaking, he stared straight at Jin Hu, who could feel the faint killing intent emanating from the big man in front of him.

He thought for a moment and then nodded: "I'll go back and say something".

Ding Shi let go of his hand: "Alright! Hurry up!"

Jin Hu nodded and headed back to the construction site. He said to the boss's wife, who was looking out the door: "I'll go take a look."

"Tiger, who is this? Such a big lineup." The boss's wife asked with a glance at the car at the door.

"A long time ago I knew someone who has now become wealthy and wants to show off, I'll go visit for a night and come back," Jin Hu said with a smile to the landlady.

The boss's wife took a look at Jinhu and said: "Then you should change your clothes too, don't let others think you're too shabby."

"I can only set off others' prosperity by being like this!" Jin Hu said with a smile, and then turned to walk towards Bin Li.

Sat in the Bentley, he started thinking about what this boss wanted to do with him, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't think of anything valuable he could offer, so he gave up. Since he couldn't figure it out, he might as well not think about it. Jin Hu looked around and even reached down to feel the hardness of the seat under his butt, touching all around before finally looking outside the car.

The car slowly drove out of the city, driving for over an hour before turning into a small district. As soon as the car entered the gate, the four security guards at the entrance stood at attention and saluted. The green trees lined the road all the way to the innermost part, where there was another large gate, which was opened by several tall men in suits.

Jin Hu looked at the car as it drove around a small fountain and stopped in front of a three-story building. As he got out of the car and looked up at the house, before he could get a good look, Ding Shi pushed him: "Don't look around randomly, follow me inside."

"Brother Ding!" The two burly men at the door helped push open the door.

Ding Shi nodded slightly: "And you, sir?"

"In the study!" one of the big men said.

As soon as he entered the hall, Jin Hu's eyes were not enough to take it all in. To put it in one sentence, it was dazzling. He regretted that his parents had not given birth to two more pairs of eyes for him. Whether it was the furniture or decorations, they were things that Jin Hu had never seen before, and even made him feel a little inferior.

"You sit and wait for a while, I'll go report, don't run around" Ding Shi said to Jin Hu.

Before Jin Hu could even nod, a woman walked down the stairs. Only then did Jin Hu feel that his previous days had been lived in vain. He finally understood what it meant to have skin as smooth as jade, eyebrows like powdered ink, and hair that cascaded down her back like a waterfall, reaching all the way down to her waist. Her two breasts were like two white balls, almost bursting out of her black dress.

Her red lips opened slightly, and a voice as sweet as the oriole's came out of her mouth: "Xiao Ding is back, is this the guest Ah Mao wants to see?"

"Yes! Sister-in-law" Ding Shi stood still and bowed slightly.

"Ah Mao is upstairs." The woman raised her jade-like fingers, pointed to the upper floor, and walked directly past Jin Hu, bringing a whiff of fragrance.

Ding Shi went upstairs, Jin Hu carefully looked around and thought about the woman from earlier. He thought to himself: "A good cabbage is being enjoyed by a pig!" Then he thought again and felt that living in such a house and sleeping with such a woman was the life one should live. With a light pat on his thigh, he couldn't help but let out a sigh of admiration: "Ah, this is what it means to be a great man!"
