Chapter 48: Invitation to the Dance Party

Chapter 48: Invitation to the Ball

Song Jian felt Zhou Tong's affectionate intention, but just smiled.

"Ah, Zhou Tong, who is this?"

"Yes, yes, Zhou Tong, you're really not considerate enough. We're all sisters, and when you've got a crush on someone, you don't even say a word."

Zhou Tong's two companions caught up and joked together.

  Zhou Tong's cheeks flushed slightly.

Four people walked towards the school gate together, as for Kong Cao, he had already slipped away to one side with a dispirited look, forgotten.

At the school gate, Xia Lin stood with her arms crossed in front of her chest, looking at Song Jian and Zhou Tong with a sulky face as they chatted and laughed.

Song pointed at his Ford and said: "I'm going home now, let's talk another day."

After finishing speaking, he waved his hand with Zhou Tong and parted ways at the gate, heading towards their respective cars.

"Zhou Tong, who is that after all."

"Yes, come on, what's going on here? I was wondering why you and Li Jian broke up. So there's a new love interest now?"

  Two sworn brothers pursued relentlessly.

Zhou Tong's face turned red, a happy smile, said: "I'll tell you later."

Saying so, Zhou Tong got into a taxi and left.

Song Jian waved at Xia Lin beside the car and said, "Just now when I entered the school..."

"I know, picking up chicks in school," Xia Lin interrupted Song Jian's words, her cheeks puffed out with anger, "Uncle, you're really something, actually managing to pick up our school's campus belle."

Song Jian was taken aback and said, "What school flower? I'm going to school to do good deeds."

Xia Lin stuck out her tongue at Song Jian, when a boy ran over, holding a red invitation card with gold foil.

"Xia Lin, this is an invitation card for the New Year's dance party, for you." The boy put the invitation in Xia Lin's hand.

Xia Lin wrinkled her nose and said: "Wang Mingxuan, where did you get the invitation letter? I might have something to do on New Year's Day."

"Hey, Xia Lin, you can't decline this. The invitation to the dance party is only for three people from our major. Think about it, if you don't attend and let four other girls go instead, won't that make students from other majors laugh at us? They'll bully us even more, saying that our Financial Management major is a joke. Here, take this. It's a school-wide dance party, and being able to attend is an honor." With that, Wang Mingxuan stuffed the invitation into Xia Lin's hand.

Xia Lin opened the invitation and took a look, it was indeed a school-level dance party hosted by the student union. Her eyes scanned through it quickly, and Xia Lin suddenly froze, "Pianist, Luo Hao." Upon seeing these five words, Xia Lin's heart skipped a few beats.

  "Okay, I'll go tomorrow night."

Wang Mingxuan bowed to Xia Lin and smiled: "Xia Lin, you are the flower of our class, even the only flower of our college. You must perform well at the dance party."

Xia Lin pretended to kick Wang Mingxuan, but Wang Mingxuan ran away.

As he got into the car, Song Jian drove the Ford towards Siyuan Company while laughing and saying: "This honor of yours, your college's only flower, is really high."

Xia Lin glanced at Song Jian with a white eye, opened the invitation letter and took another look, then said: "Uncle, tomorrow night you accompany me to attend the dance party."

"Huh?" Song Jian glanced at Xia Lin with a slanted gaze, seeing that Xia Lin was being serious, he said: "I don't have time to play along with you guys, I still have things to do."

"How dare you refuse!" Xia Lin turned around, her big eyes staring at Song Jian. "Hmph, if you refuse, I'll tell my cousin that you were flirting with a girl in school today. You're a social youth, seducing and keeping a university student as your mistress. I'll get my cousin to expel you."

Song Jian cried and laughed, "What's this about keeping a mistress? This is slander."

"You mind your own business, if you don't agree, I'll report it to my cousin like this." Xia Lin said with a smug face.

Song Jian had no choice but to give in, "But your university students' dance party, I..."

"Don't worry, uncle. At the dance party, I'll teach you how to dance and won't laugh at you as long as you don't step on my feet," Xia Lin immediately comforted Song Jian.

Song Jian pursed his lips and said, "Okay." In fact, Song Jian wanted to say that as a social youth, it was not good for him to attend the university student dance party. As for whether he could dance or not, Song Jian really didn't worry about it.

As the only son of the Song family and a well-behaved boy who never caused trouble, Song Jian had received various talent training courses since he was young. Piano and dance were his specialties, and even in American colleges, Song Jian's dancing skills and piano level were first-rate.

In the over ten years of studying in America, piano was actually Song Jian's only hobby, later he gradually became interested in modern biochemistry and put down this skill.

But seeing Xia Lin's persistence, Song Jian didn't continue to say anything. After all, it was just attending a dance party, and there was no harm in that. Since they wanted to integrate into modern society, parties and banquets were indispensable.

Back home, Xia Lin returned to her own room and started dressing herself up.

Xu Si was clearing the dinner table and asked: "Are you going to attend the banquet tomorrow?"

"Uh, school dance, sis, do you think I look good in this dress?" Xia Lin fussed with a light yellow one-piece dress.

Xu Si looked and nodded: "It's quite good-looking, but remember to wear a coat. If you catch a cold, Auntie will scold me to death."

Xia Lin giggled and said, "Alright, sis, lend me a pair of your high heels."

  Xu Si smiled slightly.

Xia Lin returned to her own room, changed into a light yellow dress, wore a pair of light-colored tights, and went to Xu Si's room. She rummaged out a pair of colorful high heels and came downstairs with a clatter.

"Sister, isn't it pretty?" Xialin giggled and spun around in a circle.

  Xu Si nodded.

"It's been a long time since I last danced, since I went to college, every day is just following the uncle to practice that ugly Tai Chi, haven't practiced dance at all. Ah, right, uncle, do you have clothes for attending a ball? You'd better not embarrass me." Xia Lin shouted.

Song Jian said gruffly while surfing the internet: "If you're afraid of losing face, don't drag me along."

Xia Lin stuck out her tongue.

Xu Si stopped what he was doing and said, "Oh, right, Song Jian, the other day I had a casual-style suit made for you, it's based on the size of that old shirt of yours. I haven't given it to you yet, let me go get it."

Xia Lin looked at Xu Si with a puzzled expression, then glanced at Song Jian who was browsing information in the bedroom and said: "Sister, I feel like something is off."

Xu Si wiped his hands and went upstairs to get a Western-style suit, saying: "What's wrong?"

"How come you're so nice to Uncle?" Xia Lin whispered.

"This is a benefit for employees!" Xu Si emphasized again and threw that suit of clothes to Song Jian.

Song Jian just simply "uh" hummed, but in his heart, he felt very warm.

The next day, Xia Lin had no classes and stayed at home all day. At 6 o'clock in the evening, Xia Lin pulled Song Jian's arm, "Uncle, let's go, let's go."

Song Jian put down the book in his hand and walked out of the house with Xia Lin.
