Ambitious

  Chapter Thirty-Nine: Ambition

Just as someone in the screening room was shouting "foul", The Blair Witch Project had already ended, with its final shot of Heather dropping her camera and an endless silence following her screams.

The audience in the cinema reacted.

"My god, are they all dead? But what about the witch, wasn't she captured on camera?"

"Witches really exist and they were all killed."

"Damn it, are all the local police idiots? It's obvious that the witch killed them, and they're just going to let it go?"

The audience in the cinema suddenly went crazy, they were all discussing what the final outcome of these people was and where the witch was.

Seeking answers, yes, they are frantically seeking answers.

Yi Feiyang, who was hiding in the projection room watching the scene unfold, clearly felt the shocking power of the pseudo-documentary on these people.

It seems the audience reacted okay, I can finally breathe a sigh of relief.

But looking at Hester's icy face again, someone immediately became sad and almost forgot about this matter, it's better to deal with this girl first.

The movie ended and the audience began to disperse one after another, discussing Blair Witch's story all the way.

It has to be said that this play gave them a very interesting topic of conversation. The inherent three-eight psychology of Americans was thoroughly dug up by this pseudo-documentary, and everyone was chattering about it, with the theme being: Is this play real?!

People are very cheap animals, the more they fear something, the more they like to explore it.

Why are horror movies and thriller movies marketable? And why are horror movies and thriller movies enduringly popular?

The more people fear, the more they yearn!

"The Blair Witch" this documentary-style film undoubtedly struck a chord with these people, making them irresistible to be attracted, tempted and become the faithful "virus" of the play, spreading it out...

As the movie premiere came to a smooth end, Fatso Gao Jiabao, Rabbit Bill, and Jack Black also breathed a sigh of relief. Although the total number of viewers in the five cinemas was pitifully small, it was still a good start, and word-of-mouth should spread quickly. The box office for this underground cinema should pick up soon. But as the leader, Yi Feiyang didn't have a good mood at all, watching Heath Ledger push a wheelchair with Mrs. Lawrence leaving.

Yi Feiyang offered to send them on their way, but they refused his kindness.

Watching Heathrow push the wheelchair away, Yifei Yang shook his head in distress. This misunderstanding had gone too far.

After finishing everything at the cinema, Bao, the fatty, loudly suggested going to a nearby place to have some midnight snacks, after all, they had been tired for a whole night.

Yi Feiyang might not have had such a good stomach, and if it wasn't for Tu Zi Bill and Jack and others saving him tonight, he might have ended up with a blank slate. So he let the fat guys go and drove home himself.

Returning to his old apartment, Yi Feiyang walked into the second-floor corridor and stopped involuntarily.

He arrived at Hester's door, stretched out his hand to knock, but hesitated for fear that she might already be asleep.

Hesitated for a moment, and finally lightly knocked three or four times.

The room was quiet and still, with no response.

Yi Feiyang let out a sigh and was about to move his feet to leave. But behind him, the sound of opening door echoed.

Yi Feiyang turned his head around and happened to see Heather staring at him with a red face.

She seemed to have just taken a bath, her hair was fluffy, and she gave off the scent of shampoo and soap all over her body.

This made Yi Feiyang, who had a keen sense of smell, take in a few more breaths. "Cough cough, you're still not asleep? I was worried about disturbing your rest."

Heather's eyes suddenly turned red for some reason, "You're a bad egg!"

"Ah, what?" Before Yifeng could explain, Heather had already slammed the door shut.

Yi Feiyang was stunned and his eyes widened in shock.

It seems like I've ruined my image in Hester's heart.

But to be honest, everything that happened in the projection room wasn't intentional! Who would have thought that damn shelf would collapse? Who would have thought she'd end up on top of me? I'm a man, after all - having such a delicate beauty on top of me and not getting any reaction, am I still normal?

"Alas, it seems that no matter how I explain it, it's all useless! I might as well just go home and sleep early!" Yi Feiyang shrugged his shoulders and turned to head towards the third floor.

As soon as he left, Heather opened the door and took a sneak peek at the stairs where Yifei had gone up, then closed the door again, leaning against it, her mind a bit dazed.

  Yes, it's very chaotic.

Especially the embarrassing scene that happened in the projection room, like a movie, kept replaying in her mind. She had already taken a cold shower to calm down, but the inner heat and **seemed to still be lingering.

"It's all the fault of that blasted scoundrel! He's the one who's been disturbing my peace!" Heather exclaimed indignantly.

All along, maintaining the purity of body and mind has been something that Hester has always strived to do. Because she knows that in order to become a true nun serving God, one must have a pure body and soul. One's own body cannot be tainted by anything bad, and one's own soul also cannot be desecrated by even the slightest unhealthy thing.

Heathcliff was so hardworking and did it. But tonight... Heathcliff closed her eyes, trying to calm down her inner self. But it didn't work. Especially after seeing that scoundrel's face, the flames that had been extinguished by cold water earlier actually reignited again.

Suddenly, Heathcliff seemed to understand that the reason he kept flashing back to that embarrassing scene was because he yearned for that kind of ambiguity, that kind of intimacy.

So it seems that I'm basically a bad girl after all, and can never become the nun I yearn to be.

This terrible thought flashed through Hester's mind like lightning, her spirit was struck as if by thunder, and became trembling with anxiety.

"Oh God, absolutely not! I must have been tempted by the devil! Or is it that God is testing me? Testing my loyalty to Him, testing whether I can get through this! Oh God, please forgive my sins, I am willing to give up everything for you..." Heather clasped her hands together, closed her eyes and leaned against the door in sincere repentance and prayer.

At the same time, in the room upstairs, Yi Feiyang took off his suit jacket and casually threw it on the bed, then lay down on his back.

For him, it's not the time to consider getting entangled with Heather in a misunderstanding.

Judging from the "dismal" situation before the premiere of Blair Witch, this play is enough to be sensationalized and has not been dug up by itself.

  What's going on?

  That's a mockumentary!

Why did this film's box office "nuclear fission", wildly earning $1.5 billion in North America and another $1 billion overseas, shocking the heavens and moving ghosts and gods?!

To put it bluntly, it's because the publicity for this film is in place, grasping the "documentary" gimmick and striving to create a sense of realism for the movie.

But what did I do in terms of promotion? Just a few simple banners, a few posters, and some word-of-mouth promotion... If it weren't for Rabbit Bill and Fat Jack suddenly gathering a group of people to make an appearance, I'm afraid this underground premiere would have ended in disaster!

Hype, advertising, propaganda... these are the real keys to a play's true success!

Yi Feiyang on the bed seemed to have found the key to victory, with a faint sly smile at the corner of his mouth.

Alright, since this play is in my hands, if I want to play, I'll play it big!

Yes, now that "The Blair Witch" has been released on a small scale, it's up to us to make this war even more sensational and bring it to the real big stage, no matter what means are used!

  Someone is very ambitious!
