Chapter 25: The Great Thief of the Country (2)

Volume 1: Japanese Storms Chapter 25: The Great Thief of a Nation (2)

Jamie Byrne was left to drive back to the publishers alone, as the person he was supposed to pick up had been mobbed by a crowd of fans and had made a run for it in front of him! The ripple effect of his usual craziness had given Jamie a true glimpse into this superstar's unique charm.

  "Hey Jamie!"

  "Hey~ Miss Stephanie!"

"Wait! Jamie, why are you alone? Where is the person I sent you to pick up? Mr. Bob Clemens?"

  "I'm very sorry!"

"Don't tell me you're late again! You let our client leave alone in a taxi once more!"

"No, Miss Stephanie, I didn't this time. It's just that the passenger you had me pick up hitched a ride in front of me to escape from a group of people chasing him!"

"Jeez! How many times is this, such a lame excuse? You'd think you could come up with something better than that! He's just Bob Clemmens, who does he think he is? Michael Jackson or Jerry Roschelle? Come on, next time you need an excuse, find one that's at least believable!"

Whether it's a rock fairy tale EP or an album, Bob's stage name is just B-boy after all, according to Jerry, this time Bob's appearance is just for fun! So unless you see Bob himself, no one knows that B-boy is actually Bob Klemmings.

"Miss Stefanie, you're absolutely right! It's Jerry Roschelle, and Bob Clemens is his brother!"

"Alright, if you continue like this, starting tomorrow, you don't have to come to the publishing house anymore! I gave you this job, not to cultivate your lying character!"

  "But..."

  "Get out!"

Jamie Byrne finally had no choice but to lower his head in frustration, why did Miss Stephanie not believe the only true words he said?!

"Jamie, Jamie~" Bobby snapped his fingers beside him, "Wake up, it's work time, you can't be like this in a daze! Take this manuscript over, I need to get it by 5 pm today! Remember, I don't want a single mistake, got it? If there are mistakes all over the place like last time, I'll have to apologize to Ms. Stephanie! Oh, and Nancy from the front desk is online!"

Jamie Byrn took the manuscript with a very gloomy face, then returned to his den. "Hey, is that Miss Nancy? Yes, it's me, Jamie! Alright, alright, I know, Miss Nancy, I really love you so much! You're simply my lucky goddess!"

Jamie Byrne hung up the phone and grabbed his coat before rushing out!

"Jamie, Jamie, hey! I want that draft by 5 o'clock, 5 o'clock! Is this guy in a hurry to meet God or something? Bobby poked his head out of the office, but Jamie Byrne didn't even have time to acknowledge him!"

Half an hour later, near St Mary's Street of University of Edinburgh, Radisson Blu Hotel Edinburgh.

"Hey Bob, over here, over here!"

Including Carlos and Pedersen, five people finally got on Jamie Byrn's business car!

"I'm so sorry, Jerry, I made you guys run away with your tails between your legs!"

"It's hilarious, extremely hilarious! Jamie! This is all your fault, if you hadn't handed me the pen and notebook, things wouldn't have turned out like this!"

"I apologize again! But Jerry, the reason is not just me..." Jamie Byne unfolded The Daily Pioneer of Britain while looking at the front of the vehicle, "Look, your current disguise has been exposed to all British people. Even if I don't take out a book and ask you for an autograph, as long as they compare it with the newspaper, they can completely recognize you!"

Jerry took the newspaper over, and wasn't that guy wearing a duckbill cap himself? When did those paparazzi from the Daily Pioneer run off to Vienna? "Okay! Can't blame you for everything, but there's always some responsibility on your part! Don't even think about shirking it!"

This sentence is a bit shameless!

The vehicle went all the way and soon returned to Kannongeitu Bookstore again!

"Jamie, I told you that manuscript is due at 5 o'clock this afternoon! Didn't you hear me? You intern!" Bobby poked Jamie Byrn with his pen, pointing it at his chest, and in a condescending tone, informed Jamie what he should be doing.

Jamie Byrn turned his head to Jerry and others, tilted his head, shrugged his shoulders, then snatched the pencil from Bobby's hand, exerted a force, "Ka Cha" sound, "I'm sorry, it broke!"

Then he tossed aside the stunned Bobby and led Bob's group into Stephanie Morri's office.

After learning Bob's true identity, Stephanie Mori was overjoyed and the negotiations went very smoothly. Matters related to the acquisition and company restructuring were naturally handed over to Bob and Robert, which is their specialty. Jerry's interest, however, still lies with Jamie Byrne!

"Miss Stephanie, I was wondering what position Jamie is currently holding in the publishing company?"

"Jamie? He's still just an intern! If he wants a proper career, maybe he'll have to wait until he graduates from Edinburgh University."

  "Are you an intern editor?"

  "Yes! Jerry."

"Alright! Jamie, if you can become an independent editor under Miss Stephanie's guidance after a year, I'll have a big plan to share with you!"

"A year later? Can't it be now? Jerry"

"Now? You don't even have the ability now! Work hard for this year! Ms. Stephanie, regarding the company's operation, we will recruit professional personnel from the United States, Japan and the UK to reorganize a new operational team, I hope you won't have any problems!"

"You're the boss, you have the final say!" Stephanie Mori didn't really have any objections and after agreeing to the acquisition of King Fund, she had already mentally prepared herself for being let go. However, in the end, she was retained as the new company's CEO!

According to Jerry's conception, the newly established Cannon Book Company will strive to participate in the organization of the three major book festivals, and this work requires the efforts of the new team! At least as a Scottish person, Stephanie Mori needs to make great efforts! And Jamie Byrne, although he has unique insights and creativity, is not an expert in company operations.

After solving the acquisition of Cannonbridge Book Company, Jerry and his team rushed to London, UK!
