Intern

  Ding Dong!

Hue woke with a start, filled in his dead mans switch, and basked in the glow of his simulated sunrise. Despite his situation, he was feeling good.

He stood up from the floor. Sleep had crept up on him last night.

Hue glanced at his emails, and one in particular caught his eye. The bottom of Hues stomache was about to drop out. Right about... now?

Hue felt tredipation, but there was no related physical feeling.

Hue sighed and opened the email.

Hue looked at the time. He would have time to fix this before the day started.

He pulled up the logs and read through them. Only five entries had been made since Rajs messup, Hue copied them from the database and rolled back the database to right before Rajs program ran. He then appended the lines to the end of the prod database.

Sometimes interns made good security testers. Hue closed the loophole by restricting read access to the production code to devops and above

  Hue suddenly recieved another email.

He was curious, so hue looked at the available plans

Interested despite himself, Hue selected to upgrade to NgxTPU, and set a timer to reset the enviroment if the upgrade failed.

Hue clicked the upgrade button.... And nothing changed.

It looked to Hue that it was definitely a good idea to upgrade. There was a lot less load on the system.

Looking closer, Hue noticed that the uptime ticker didnt seem right,

After a few moments, Hue concluded that he was running about thirty times faster then realtime.

Hue needed some time to think about what to do next, because it seemed like he would have a lot of it.

Whats the most expensive mistake you ever made?
