When I woke up the thing was alive and currently exploring the chamber. I didn’t want to raise it on my own so I shoved a lot of biomass at it while semi drowning it in liquid mana. I was forcing the growth while also dumping information in its brain about the place around us. After it stopped flailing and trying to escape and I sensed its heart was stopping I pulled it out and went off to do my tasks.
First thing I dropped my body meat avatar into the vat while my real body, the crystal core that was simply manipulating the flesh around it, was transported in an elaborate set of tubes to the liquid mana pool where it sank to the bottom. The searing pain flooded my self, I couldn’t feel or see anything but I could feel my domain expanding at a rapid pace.
Mana in the pool was siphoned by my body to expand my domain and to make my body larger. When the pain stopped my domain was very weak but It was spreadover all of the area of the network. It helped marginally in mana collection which in turn strengthened it but the process was very slow.
Every living thing that was created by me was instantly turned into my minions while everything else which were mostly insects had to leave because they were absorbed for more biomass. I took all of my biomass to spreak network even further while turning managroves near me into storage facilities. I even turned some of the trees into more centaur eggs.
My mana was getting low, the biodiversity of this place was utter garbage, most of the plants here were for stealing mana not creating it. So i disabled all of the mana siphoning in every plant in the inner ring, then I turned various trees into several versions of moss, grass and flowers. There were quite a few bioluminescent variants, with spare biomass I raised the height of all of the managroves to allow them to not only block most of the sun to make the shining plants necessary for the new biome I made.
The higher trees now could gather far more mana. I could already feel it surging towards me. To not black out from getting overwhelmed I attempted at creating a new lifeform. I gathered all of the mana I could muster in a space that could fit in the hand of a child. The high mana concentration in such space created bacteria sized mana crystals, I allowed more of the crystals to appear while keeping all of them the same size.
Then I arranged them into a loose ball, the inner crystals would spin in the sequence to create drag that would move the outer layer. The inner layer would constantly siphon and refine mana into higher variants while consuming some of it to move around. Due to the refining process the inner sphere would glow leaving behind short trails of light that were hypnotizing to look at. The outer sphere would be used to talk by the use of air vibrations and to pick stuff up.
Because of the small size of the crystals and low amount of crystals inside the newly created creature it would be quite weak but I gave it the ability to consume more mana to concentrate it in the innermost layer to make more of the crystals. Over time the creature’s crystals would grow in size to the size of a pebble. At that time the creature would have an option to either sacrifice itself to birth more copies of itself that would soon diverge from its personality or keep growing.
The entity I created needs a species name and personal name, because I feel like I would talk with it often. I heard a song once in my very first world, it was called Tanc a Lelek. I decided on the creature’s species Lelek because it was quite easy to say. The puff ball as I dubbed it mentally was zooming around testing its limits and exploring the place around it. I created 5 more and almost lost consciousness due to mana deprivation.
These Leleks were mana hungry things alright. On another note my status became available.
