Chapter C: Saved a Fox Spirit

It seems that the heavens are intentionally making things difficult for Liu Da Guanren. The clear and starry sky at bedtime had turned into a stormy night, with strong winds and heavy rain. Although the small hut of Liu Zhen was hidden behind a mound of earth, the wind was blocked by the surrounding obstacles, but the raindrops falling from the sky could not be stopped. The thatched roof made of leaves quickly leaked everywhere, revealing the shoddy workmanship of Liu Zhen.

Liu Zhen was awakened by the first clap of thunder. The first thing he regretted was not setting up a drainage ditch yesterday. Before his regret could continue, the heavy rain poured down like a ladle, and Liu Zhen looked at his "nest" with water dripping everywhere, losing all desire to fight against the flood. His good straw mat was soaked through in an instant, but fortunately, the wolf skin was like a lotus leaf, shedding water without being wet. When the rain hit it, it was like hitting some oily substance, forming strings of water droplets that rolled off.

Liu Zhenhong put the wolf skin hood on his head, held Guo Guo in his arms, and hid himself in the warm wolf skin, foolishly waiting for the rain to stop.

The rain grew heavier and heavier, showing no signs of letting up. Flash after flash of lightning illuminated the sky above the red willow forest, each strike making Liu feel a tremor beneath his feet. The rain was blown about in mid-air by the fierce winds, like a curtain of pearls. The shrubs were bent low under the force of the gale, and all around, the wind howled with a deafening roar. Everything seemed insignificant in the face of natures fury.

A loud cracking sound of wooden planks tearing apart drifted to Liu Zhens ears on the wind, and his ears perked up. It was an extremely mournful sound, coming from the sandy beach where they had cooked their pot in the morning. Liu Zhen could be certain that if a Dongfeng heavy-duty eight-wheeled truck crashed into a wooden door, it would also produce such a sound.

There were also a few faint cries for help in the wind, although Liu Zhen didnt understand what the person who was crying for help was saying. But when people are in danger, that urgent feeling is all the same, its a kind of despair and hopelessness when facing a precarious situation.

It must be that there is a ship that has encountered a storm and come to this island to take shelter, but judging from the sound, it seems to have hit a reef. Liu Zhens mind was racing with thoughts.

  "Save them!"

Liu Zhen didnt think much, grabbed the wolf skin and the whale bone knife and rushed into the rain curtain. If there was still a ship coming to this deserted island, then this would be his only chance to escape. This opportunity, even if it meant sacrificing half of his life, Liu Zhen wouldnt miss it. His only hope was that the ship wouldnt be destroyed. In the morning while diving, he had seen coral reefs at the bottom of the water, which made him realize how much danger was hidden beneath this calm sea surface.

The gale was even stronger than he had imagined, and Liu only realized this when he rushed out of the mounds range. If it werent for his quick reflexes, the wolf skin would have been blown away by the wind. At this point, the wolf skin could no longer wrap around his body, at most serving as a cloak. In this situation, every step he took seemed extremely difficult.

Helpless, the whole person had to lie down on the muddy ground and crawl forward, taking care of Guo Guo in his arms, while pulling the wolf skin cloak, the raindrops as big as beans hit his face without stopping, making his already injured nose ache terribly, Liu Zhen was in agony.

Almost crawling, he rushed into the red willow forest, which was a bit better, but the wind in the forest was still unbearable. The red willows were originally very low and were pressed down by the strong winds, making them even lower. Branches would easily hit his head if he wasnt careful. Liu Zhen was almost bent over at the waist, searching for his markers while moving forward, the bird droppings and mud on the ground had mixed together to form a muddy pit that could swallow half of his foot, and he would slip and fall every few steps.

When Liu Zhenhong stumbled out of the red willow forest, the wind and rain also gradually subsided. The rainwater began to soften, and when it hit his face, it didnt hurt as much as before. Liu Zhenhong simply untied the wolf skin and let the rain wash away his filthy body. Guos fur was very smooth, and the rain could only hang on its long eyelashes, leaving no trace on its body.

Liu Zhenhong put the fruit on his head, wiped it with rainwater, and took advantage of the gap between the lightning flashes to scan the dark sea surface. A huge sailboat was stuck between two coral reefs, with the front half of the hull pointing towards the sky, and a huge hole under the cabin. Every time there was a flash of lightning, Liu Zhenhong could see the seawater rushing into it frantically, and the hull slowly sliding into the water.

The sail and mast of the boat also seemed to have been damaged when it ran aground, scattered all over the sea surface, in a mess. According to the distance between the two, which was about one or two kilometers apart, Liu Zhen quickly estimated the length and diameter of the boat. From this distance, the structure of the boat was at least 25 meters upwards, and the radius was also more than 10 meters.

The ships sides were relatively shallow, and according to Liu Zhens judgment based on the results of the dropped mast style, plus the beautiful curved corner at the front of the bow - a double-handed human-faced snake-bodied statue, Liu Daren was also unsure which country and place the ship belonged to.

Despite being filled with doubts, Liu Zhensheng decided to prioritize saving people first. The wind was strong and the water was rushing, so Liu Zhensheng didnt dare to be careless. He found a few long and sturdy vines, put them on his back, and also got several large coconuts, which he tightly tied together with tree vines to make a homemade life ring before daring to enter the water. Guo Guo was originally left on the shore, but who knew that just as Liu Daren had just entered the water, a beautiful dive, jumped onto Liu Zhenshengs forehead, almost suffocating him to death.

The seawater around the coral reef formed a whirlpool under the influence of the wind, and Liu Zhen was tossed about in the life ring, unable to control his direction. After much effort, he finally reached the side of the boat, only to find that it was impossible to climb aboard. Several corpses in white robes floated nearby, their bellies swollen high by the water, their faces deathly pale. Even Liu Zhen, who had grown accustomed to seeing dead bodies, felt a twinge of distress at this sight.

At this time, the tilted hull of the ship made a series of grinding noises like gnashing teeth, and Liu Zhens heart was pounding like a drum. He now regretted it extremely, hoping that the ship would not capsize and come crashing down on them.

Its okay, the big ship shook a bit and then stopped, the creaking sound between the wooden boards also decreased a lot. Liu Zhen hesitated for a moment, but still resolutely untied one of the rattans on his back, took one end of the rattan and stuffed it into Guo Guos mouth, saying "Baby, up!"

Guo Guo was really clever, holding the end of the vine that had been tied to Liu Zhens head, jumping down from Liu Zhens head onto a dead body floating on the water, and then jumping up onto the broken mast hanging more than a meter above the water surface. With a few quick movements, it climbed up onto the side of the boat, poked its beak through a hole in the hull, and then, still holding the end of the vine, parachuted down, landing squarely on Liu Zhens forehead.

With the rope, it was much easier for Liu Zhen to climb onto the boat. The boats body had almost reached a 40-degree tilt, making it difficult to find a place to land without slipping. Liu Zhen slowly made his way into the cabin, which was also severely flooded, with more than half of it submerged in water. The cabin walls were covered in scars from the impact, and all the stacked boxes and cabinets had fallen over and were jumbled together, floating on the surface of the deep water that reached up to Liu Zhens calves.

Lightning flashed one after another outside, illuminating the cabin with eerie shadows. Liu Zhen was like a slide, searching each cabin to see if there were any survivors, but unfortunately, nothing could be found except for broken wood and fabric scraps.

After entering the third cabin, Liu Zhen picked up a large pancake-like mantou floating on the water surface. He took a bite and it was hard as iron, seemingly made from unfermented dough. It choked him so much that he stretched his neck. Guo Guo also jumped onto the bigger pancake, took a bite, and disdainfully spat it out.

Liu Zhenhuan picked up another piece of gauze like a elephants blanket, rolled up the big pancake and tied it tightly to his back. On the surface of the water in the cabin, there were still several things like watermelon and cantaloupe, but they were all cracked open. Liu Zhenhuan also hastily put them into the treasure bag.

This cabin was the last one, Liu Zhen saw that there were no survivors, so he gave up the futile search and started to focus on finding useful things. The biggest discovery was a wine barrel in a pile of boxes. Liu Zhens nose might not have any special sense for other things, but when it came to good food and drink, he would never make a mistake.

This big wine barrel was as big as a man could hug, and the aroma of wine faintly emanating from the edge made Liu Zhenshen extremely happy. He trotted around it for half a day before deciding to pry it open and take a taste. The past few days had left his mouth dry.

The entire room was filled with boxes stacked together, all of which he kicked open one by one. Inside, there were clothes, although they were all wide and large white robes like those worn by Arabs. Liu Zhen was still very happy, as he had been feeling particularly uncomfortable being naked for the past few days. Even back in his days on the battlefield in southern Xinjiang, Officer Liu had never experienced this before!

There were also several good curved knives that made Liu Zhen very happy. These curved knives were not long, with a blade that was curved into an eerie arc like a goat horn, and the scabbard was also very luxurious, with strange exotic patterns. The hilt was even inlaid with gems, although its unknown whether they were real or fake, Liu Zhen estimated they werent real.

Slowly drawing out the knife, Liu Zhen felt that the dark cabin suddenly brought out a touch of green light. The intermittent lightning outside flashed brightly, and Liu Zhen could clearly see the carbon elements hammered on the knife body, like beautiful brocade patterns, layer by layer densely covering the surface of the knife.

Liu Zhen had long been envious of his former company commander, Old Gengs "Kukri" curved knife. Today, he finally got one for himself and felt delighted in his heart. The frustration of not being able to save people was also alleviated a lot.

At the very bottom was a box as big as a bed, with a large lock on top that was tightly locked. Liu Zhensheng kicked it three times, but couldnt break the wooden board on top. He knew this wood must be high-quality, like purple sandalwood or cloud fir. So he drew out his curved knife and chopped at the big lock. "Clang!" A burst of sparks flew up high, and the knife was knocked back. Liu Zhensheng saw that it hadnt been cut open, so he wound up again and struck another heavy blow.

This knife went down, not only was the chain lock chopped off, but the blade also got stuck in the wooden board. Liu Zhen made an effort to pull out the knife and ripped open the wooden cover.

A flash of lightning flashed by with a trajectory like an electric snake, and Liu Zhens joyful smile froze in an instant.

Even Lian Guo covered his mouth with his hands on his head.

The curved knife slipped silently from Lius hand and fell onto the wooden chest, then made a "plop" sound as it bounced into the water in the cabin.

If the shock of seeing that blue giant wolf spew out wind blades was enough to create a 7.6-magnitude earthquake in Lius heart, then the "thing" in the box would be enough to rival the Great Pompeii Earthquake.

Outside the porthole, thunder and lightning continued unabated, rumbling on without a pause. The flashes of light were like magnesium flashes from a camera, illuminating Liu Zhens forehead, where beads of sweat trickled down, rolling silently down his face, and dripping from the corners of his mouth.

Liu Zhen was suddenly brought back to his senses by a salty, sweaty taste in his mouth, and he rubbed his eyes incredulously. Another flash of lightning illuminated the trunk, making it shine brightly with an eye-searing white light.

In the large wooden box, four or five people were lying down in a disorderly manner, with the ones at the bottom already soaked in water, their long hair floating back and forth like seaweed on the ocean floor.

What made Liu Zhens scalp explode was not because they were a few dead people, but because these several people packed in boxes were all women, and they were women he had never seen before.

The one lying face up in the box was a girl, with fiery red curly hair and an adorable face...... And under her body, a fiery red large tail was exposed.

The tail hung in the accumulated water in the box, and the fiery red tail was like a cluster of jumping flames. After each flash of lightning, it left a string of montage-like movie scenes in Lius brain that was about to go into shock.

"How...is this...possible..." Liu Zhens face was covered with his hands, and his thick fingers pinched his nose in a sharp pain.

Liu Zhenhuan almost fell into the water with a thud, and then nervously climbed up by touching the wooden box. He had only one feeling, that all the pores on his body were trembling in suffocation.

"Fox spirit..." Liu Zhens throat felt like it was being choked by a pair of hands, his entire voice transformed into an eerie and unparalleled tone.

He stood foolishly in front of the box, looking at the girls pale face, and his mind was completely confused.

The fox spirits tail in the box moved slightly, although the amplitude was not large, but it could be seen that the still water rippled with a thread of ripples.

Liu Zhens pupils suddenly became even larger.

It was the first time he felt at a loss for what to do, and it was when facing the blue giant wolf that he had never had this feeling before.

The hull of the wooden boat creaked again, the teeth-jarring friction between the planks and the keel warning Liu Zhen that he was facing the moment just before the ship disintegrated.

Liu Zhen was shocked and gritted his teeth, carrying out the last breath of the fox spirit. He saw another pile of fox spirits under the box, at least four or five, all half-submerged in water, with their faces upturned, each with perfectly contoured faces, and some with their bodies submerged in the water, their long robes floating on the surface, revealing their large tails.

Liu Zhen was just feeling another wave of dizziness.

The girl in his arms still had a hint of warmth and heartbeat from her icy chest, Liu Zhen was forcing himself not to look at her large tail, he casually pulled over a table, kicked away the legs, and used the old tree vines behind him to firmly tie the "fox spirit" on top.

At this time, the ships body tilted again, and Liu Zhen was shocked and slipped, barely standing firm.

He pulled out that snow-bright curved knife, Liu Zhen didnt know where he got such great strength, and a few knives hacked open a huge hole in the wooden board of the porthole.

Hugging the table tied to the fox spirit, Liu Zhen stunned Fruit by grabbing his ears and putting him in a bundle on his back. With a loud crash, he burst through the large hole, splashing wooden chips everywhere. Liu Zhen leaped into the icy sea water with the table still in tow, creating a massive splash.

Liu Zhen was completely at a loss, and all he could think of was to escape quickly. The ship might sink into the sea at any moment, and when it did, the whirlpool that would be stirred up would be impossible for even a good swimmer like him to escape, let alone an elephant.

Tugging at the table, Liu Zhen was using his hands and feet to paddle in the water while lamenting the loss of that bucket of wine. What good wine it was! Liu Zhen kept licking his lips, savoring the salty seawater.

After thousands of hardships and difficulties, the wooden boat stuck between the reefs finally made a shocking crack, countless water jets burst out from the cracks in the deck and shot into the sky. Liu was shocked and gasping for breath as he watched the ship slowly turn upright and then slowly sink to the bottom of the sea.

The sound of the wind and rain gradually subsided, leaving only the distant reef where the seawater gurgled out bubbles, the sea surface was desolate, no cries for help, no sounds, only floating corpses, debris and deathly silence.

Liu Zhenhuan wiped the water droplets from his face, and a few wooden thorns stuck in his arm made him wince again, which was left when he broke open the cave just now.

The fox spirit tied to the table had already slumped to one side, Liu Zhens body leaned down, and his fingers pinched her neck, fortunately, there was a pulse beating, but it was very weak. Through the fox spirits collar, you could see the blue bruises left on her white shoulders after being hit by gravity.

Liu Zhenhong lowered his body and gave her artificial respiration first. The fox spirit had a severe coughing fit, spitting out a lot of seawater. Liu Zhenhong only learned simple battlefield treatment and bandaging, and didnt dare to mess with it anymore. He wanted to put her down, but was afraid that she might have fractures on her body, so he could only drag the table back home.

Liu Zhenhong, amidst his busy schedule, didnt forget to touch the large package behind him. Fortunately, the round and plump gourd and Guo Guos big ears were still standing upright. The curved knife in his hand was now only one, which was the same one used to pry open the porthole. The other few knives and the gemstone scabbard didnt know where they were thrown away in the midst of the urgent situation.

He arrived home, Liu Zhen hurriedly thought to find some firewood to burn some hot water for this little fox spirit to wipe her body. Her body was losing heat too quickly now, and if it continued like this, she would probably freeze to death.

Liu Zhen is now roughly recovering from the initial shock, how could a fox spirit possibly drown in water? The story of "Liao Zhai" that Liu Zhen has been listening to since childhood, this fox spirit - lets call her that for now, clearly had a pulse and breathing, as well as severe external injuries, it was impossible for her to be that kind of supernatural being who could summon the wind and rain.

The hay outside had been soaked through by the heavy rain just now, where was there any dry hay? Liu Zhen ran out again and patted his forehead, scolding himself for being muddled. Today he didnt know what was wrong with him, always making low-level and ridiculous mistakes like a crossed nerve.

Now was not the time for him to go find dry firewood, looking at the small fox spirit with tightly closed eyes and purple lips, even its fiery red tail was trembling, Liu Zhenshen anxiously rubbed his hands like a hot pot burning ants.

His eyes rolled around and Liu Zhen thought of a plan.

Gently shedding the fox spirits classical long gown, Liu Zhen felt a flash in front of his eyes, and inside was a moon-white undergarment. Liu Zhen had never seen what a womans underwear looked like before, and he really couldnt imagine it. In the army, although he had sneaked peeks at female soldiers underwear during boring times, it was mostly out of mischief rather than lust.

Trembling, he lifted her clothes, Liu Zhen commanded himself to turn his head away, but couldnt do it. What a perfect physique, the lines and development had already reached the ultimate beauty.

Liu Zhen was shocked to see a coconut shell under his butt, it was like opening a Shaolin Temple. The sound of the wooden fish "Boom Boom Boom" rose and fell, Guo Guo jumped in front of him, looking strangely at the coconut shell, calling out "Guo Guo... Guo Guo".

"!!!!!" Lius face turned red with shock.

What have I become! A hoodlum! Liu Zhen was scolding himself with a bit of resentment.

Gently, he wrapped his arms around the small fox spirit and pulled her into his embrace. Liu Zhen closed his eyes, feeling his scorching body come into contact with two icy yet soft objects, a sensation that left him intoxicated.

This must be a dream, Liu Zhen thought.
