Chapter 3.5 – The Witch Hated by the World

  That night, I sat at my desk, trying to make sense of everything that had happened.

  Since I arrived in this world, I felt there was something strange about Azami Yuki—the female version of myself. She knew more tha on, and the more I got to know her, the more secrets were revealed.

  The test was the fact that she used to be an Indepe Witbsp;

  Not just a powerful Witch, but the only Indepe Wit this world.

  I didn’t know how strong that rank was, but from the way she spoke, it was clearly not something to be taken lightly.

  And what was even more shog—she was the one who established the rule that only she could be an Indepe Witbsp;

  Why did she do that?

  And more importantly, why hadn’t the other Witches killed her if they knew she had robbed them of that possibility?

  I was just about to ask that when a loud crash echoed from outside.

  BANG!

  The window of my room suddenly shook violently. I rushed to the baly and saw something that left me speechless.

  The sky was red.

  Not the red of a su, but a deep, blood-like crimson.

  I turo Azami, who stood in the doorway, her face calm as ever.

  “They’re here soohan I expected,” she said ftly.

  “Who?” I asked, though deep down I already khe answer.

  Azami smiled faintly. “Other Witches. They’ve wao kill me for a long time, and it seems they’ve run out of patience.”

  We went downstairs, and there, I saw them.

  People dressed in straire, their auras different from ordinary humans. Their eyes glowed faintly, and every movement they made felt unnatural—as if they were beings from another world disguised as humans.

  “There are about six of them,” Azami muttered, her eyes narrowing.

  I swallowed hard. “And they’re all… Witches?”

  “Yes.”

  One of them, a woman with long blonde hair, stepped forward.

  “Azami Yuki !.”

  Azami sighed. “You’re being too formal, Ragna. Haven’t we known each other long enough?”

  The woman named Ragna growled. “Don’t py dumb. You knoe’re here.”

  Azami chuckled softly. “Oh, I know. You’re still upset about the world rules I ged back then, aren’t you?”

  I could feel the hostility in the air intensify.

  “Don’t a!” shouted another woman behind Ragna. “You stole hts! You took the highest position and made it exclusive to yourself!”

  Azami shrugged. “And what’s wrong with that?”

  I stared in shock. She wasn’t denying it…

  Azami had truly locked the position of Indepe Witch so that only she could hold it.

  And now, all the other Witches hated her for it.

  “Don’t think just because your rank has dropped, you get away with it,” Ragna said sharply. “We’ll end you, here and now.”

  I tensed. Were they really going to fight in the middle of the city?

  Without warning, one of the Witches stepped forward and swung her hand.

  In an instant, the space around us ged. The Witch forcibly opened a 'Gate' and brought me and Azami into the Omnion World.

  Buildings disappeared, streets vanished, and suddenly we were in a pletely unfamiliar pbsp;

  The sky was still red, but now there was something even more terrifying—plete silenbsp;

  The Omnion World.

  Azami sighed. “Hah…~ What a hassle.” Azami was truly treating the current situation lightly.

  She then turo me.

  “Just stay still so you don’t die.”

  Before I could respond, she was already moving.

  In an instant, Azami disappeared from her spot and appeared behind one of the Witches.

  *BAM!*

  With a single kick to the head, the Witch was sent flying, crashing into an invisible wall at the edge of this dimension.

  Immediately, the battle erupted.

  I could only stand frozen as Azami fought against six Witches at onbsp;

  Every move she made was fwless.

  Every time another Witch tried to attack, she dodged effortlessly, then tered with impossible speed.

  But what impressed me the most…

  She hadn’t used her magic at all. Or maybe that was just my assumption.

  She seemed to rely solely on her physical strength and bat skills. But perhaps she was also bendiy in the process. After all, this was the Omnion World, where Witches could use reality manipution to its fullest and were nearly impossible to defeat. Even so,

  Azami Yuki—the female version of myself—was still winning, even though her rank had dropped to Hughes. It made it clear that her title as a former 'Indepe Witch' wasn’t just empty talk.

  One by ohe Witches began to fall.

  Ragna was the st oanding, her face filled with rage.

  “You think this is over?” she snarled.

  Azami smiled faintly. “Of course not. You’ll e back, and I’ll defeat you again. As usual.”

  Ragna gritted her teeth. “You think you forever avoid the sequences of what you’ve done?”

  Azami stepped closer and looked her straight in the eye.

  “I’m not avoiding anything.”

  Her smile deepened.

  “I’m accepting the sequences in my own way.”

  I shivered.

  Ragna seemed to want to say more, but then she disappeared.

  So did the other Witches.

  A few seds ter, the world returo normal.

  I looked around. No one seemed to notice what had just happened.

  Only Azami and I knew.

  I turo Azami, who looked as if nothing had happened.

  “…Why did you do it?” I finally asked.

  Azami looked at me with a ft expression. “Do what?”

  “Why did you ge the world’s rules? Why did you make yourself the only Indepe Witch?”

  Azami paused for a moment before answering softly.

  “Because I wao be free.”

  I was stunned. “Freedom?”

  Azami smiled, but the smile was filled with something I couldn’t quite expin.

  “Someday, you’ll uand.”

  I wao ask more, but she was already walking away.

  I could only stand there, realizing ohing.

  Azami Yuki… the woman in front of me, was someone far deeper than I had imagined.

  And I began to wonder…

  Did I really want to know the truth?
