Chapter 5.5 – A World Without Miracles

Azami Yuki woke up with a heavy head.

His eyes stared at the pin white ceiling, feeling the cold floor beh his body.

He tried to remember what had happened.

  Before—

Before, he had been on his way to campus.

  Then…

  Where was he now?

Slowly, he sat up and looked around.

A small room with white walls.

Everythi… normal, or so he thought.

He turo the window and saw the cityscape at night.

Streetlights, vehicles passing by, and the distant echoes of life.

This pce felt like his apartment, but it also wasn’t the apartment he knew.

The door opened, and a girl walked in.

With the long bck hair he reized and a failiar, it was as if they had met before.

  But something was different.

The look in her eyes… didn’t carry that indefinable sadness.

There was no mystery hidden behind her smile.

  She seemed normal.

  pletely normal.

Azami Yuki unsciously held his breath.

  "Huh? You’re awake?"

The female version of Azami Yuki in this ied world looked at him with a fused expression.

She closed the door, walked to the small kit in the apartment, and poured a gss of water.

  Then she ha to him.

  Azami Yuki remained silent.

"What’s wrong?" the female version of Azami Yuki frowned. "You fainted in front of the café, so I brought you here. Feelier now?"

Café…? Wasn’t he on his way to campus earlier?

Azami Yuki finally accepted the gss of water, taking a slow sip.

  "...Yeah. Thank you."

He was still trying to make sense of the situation.

  Something had ged.

Or perhaps, something had been erased.

  Days passed.

Azami Yuki tried to figure out what had happened, but every answer he found only led to more questions.

In this world, the ratio of men to women was almost skewed 1:5.

There was also the fact that the woman who had taken care of him when he fainted shared his name.

Not only that. Even the yout of the apartment furniture was almost identical to his. The faculty she attended was the same, her birthdate was the same, her favorite foods were the same, even her zodiac sign and her parents' names were the same.

And Azami Yuki—the woman—was as if she were an alternate version of himself…

And although Azami Yuki—the male version—no longer k, in this world where magio longer existed, even though it seemed simir to the previous world, Azami Yuki—the female version of himself—was not a witch.

She was just an ordinary college student, a private detective who occasionally helped people find lost items or solve small cases, and a part-time barista at a café near campus.

  Nothing more, nothing less…

  And so, their days began.

  They started w together.

At first, it was just to figure out what had really happened.

How had Azami Yuki—himself—ended up in this world?

  What had thrown him here?

But gradually, that reason began to blur.

They didn’t realize it, but little by little, they grew closer.

From light versations at the café, from long nights discussing theories they didn’t uand, from awkward moments when they unsciously shared food or spent time together for no apparent reason.

There was no magic that brought them together.

No rules of the world binding them.

  No fate orchestrating everything.

  Just… life.

  Slowly…

  Unsciously…

  They fell in love.

  Years passed.

In a small apartment, a man sat at the dining table, reading news on his phone.

I, a woman reparing breakfast, her long hair tied up haphazardly, her face still sleepy.

"I told you not to read the news while eating," she said, sighing.

The man chuckled. "Force of habit."

The woman slid a pte of toast across the table and sat across from him.

They ate in silence, enjoying the peaceful m.

  No more questions.

  No more fusion.

Just two people living their lives.

  Quietly.

  Simply.

  Happily.

Outside the window, the blue sky stretched endlessly.

  This world wasn’t perfect.

  This world had no miracles.

  This world had no magic.

But for the first time, the two Azami Yukis felt like they were truly living the life they wanted.

  [The End.]
