Prologue: A voice at the end of the day.

  I can hear pain.

The sounds of clashing swords. The cries of battle. A war.

I see multiple colors in the plain. Green, Blue, Silver, Orange, And White.

Fighting what seems to be an even large color, a large amount of Black, similar to its dark surroundings. And in the center of it all… a giant beam of light.

From this vast burnt up plane, I see a figure that obscurely differentiates itself from everything else.

  A red man.

Every single one of the black figures seems to have disappeared. All alone standing against the 4 other colors, is the red figure.

Tired, the figure of the man began running towards the vast amount of the mixed colors. It bulldozed a third of them. It started going to the beam of light.

As it was about to reach the beam of light, everything went dark.

  …

  “Psst, Kuris. Kuris wake up.”

  “Mmuh.”

  “Yuu…”

“Mmuhhh. Hm? A dream? Oh, Good morning.”

  “Morning indeed, Yuu”

I can feel a cold gaze behind me. I feel shivers through my spine.

I slowly turned to the presence of the voice and what awaited my gaze was a dreadful glare behind an angelic smile.

“W-Why hello their instructor. Uhm. Wonderful weather we're havi-"

  *Thwack*

  “Gah!"

“Be in mind that this is the 5th time this week that you slept my session."

She said this after hitting my head with the book she held in her hand.

“I expect you to stay at the end of the day cleaning the auditorium it seems like a lecture isn't enough to keep you entertained.”

  “Kuh. Y-Yes Instructor…”

While that conversation was happening I can feel sighs from some the students, while the rest laughed.

  Here we go again…

  -----

In our free time, a girl approached me. The girl had short chestnut hair paired with an innocent smile. Among other girls, she can be considered cute.

  She was Yuki.

“So… need my help in this one?”

She must be talking about my penalty.

“No, I got this. I’m just gonna take my time in doing it.”

If I had accepted her help here, my pride as a man will diminish.

“Hah… I did try waking you up, you know.”

“You did? Thanks then. I appreciate the try.”

Well, it is my fault for sleeping I guess…

“Anyways, are you gonna eat? Me and some of my friends are gonna eat in the garden later.”

“Ah it is okay. I plan to read here for a while you can go without me.”

“I see, don’t push yourself alright?”

After saying that, she went back to her group and they went off.

  -----

Later in the day, when it was almost time to eat. A boy with golden hair and blue eyes sat next to the chair I was sitting having his head rest on the back of the chair.

I don’t really care for the presence, but he started talking to me. So interaction is inevitable.

“Yuu… oh sweet, sweet Yuu. Yuki told me what happened sleepyhead.

“Hi there… ah, yes that happened.”

“Hm? Is there something that you want to add to that sentence?” he said this with a smile in his face.

  Damn, did he notice?

  “Lovely weather we’re having today?”

Hopefully this works this time around.

“Charles. It's Charle's. Grrr. How come everytime I come to offer my help to you, you never know my name?"

Oh right, right. Ah, his eyes are starting to get teary.

“Oi, be quiet. Your gathering attention.”

Ugh… I can feel him glaring at me.

“Well, okay then, I’ll give it a pass this time. Anyways, need help on the cleaning later? It’s gonna be tough doing it all alone.”

“Hm? Sure, but are you gonna be okay with that? This is supposed to be punishment.”

“Well yeah, with magic, it’ll end in an instant. Heh.”

Alright then… wait, is that allowed? Oh well, as long as it makes the job quicker I don’t mind.

“Well, thanks. Sorry for taking your time.”

  “Nah man,”

After that, we had a refreshing chat, about the weather mostly. Including a mental note of his name.

  -----

  Later in the day.

“Whew glad that was over with. I’m tired, want to go to the beef roast stall?”

“But, we didn’t even do anything. You just used nature magic to clean the room.”

“Well it’s tiring using magic you know? It’s still troubling that you can’t do any yet.”

Well I can’t help it. I’m bad at magic.

“Magic aside, how about the roast stall?”

“Ah, you can go without me, I’m just gonna finish up here. Still got things to do.”

“Well, all right. Don’t push yourself. If I get a call that you’re sleeping here again, I am not carrying you. See you later.”

In a blitz, he dashed off.

But… I didn’t even give that idea a thought. Well, he’s gone now. Now for the most troubling part of the day.

“Mfufu, that was a nice person there. Hey hey, why don’t you start making friends already? Maybe they could join us? Maybe then we can crawl closer to our goal!”

A voice. That of a little girl, was talking to me.

  “Shut up."

"Hey, how about the girl? She seems to really you!"

"I don’t want to hear that from you. Give that topic a rest already.”

“I truly am sorry, but I can’t do that. I get too hungry you know~”

  “You're not sorry."

“My, I’m the only one supporting you currently you know?"

  How did I get here?

Right. It was because of that moment.

I turned around glaring at the figure that was talking to me. Red horns, paired with a red dress with hair as white as snow. A girl who is so beautiful and eye-catching which she can even rival that of Gods. But there was one problem. I was talking to one of the most hated things in this world.

“So, shall we continue our training?”

  A demon.
