Boom!
The door to the small room flew through the air and crashed into one of the walls of the corridor, causing great damage.
Luke, who had destroyed the door with a simple movement of his hand, entered the room and looked at the young novice who was tied to a chair. His condition was pitiful. He had been subjected to long sessions of torture, and now there was no trace of the affable and jovial boy who smiled happily, helping him in his daily life.
Elian was unconscious, which was perhaps a blessing, since he would not have to endure the pain caused by the wounds left on his body.
Luke used his spiritual power to inspect his health and was able to verify that despite all the abuse he had suffered, his life was not in danger at the moment. Evidently whoever had carried out this "work" was a professional in that area.
As for Elian Calan's mental state, Luke could only hope that he still retained a little sanity. As long as his mind hadn't been completely destroyed, he could help him regain his former state of health.
Obviously, the door he had destroyed to enter the room, like all the others, had an alarm that had gone off the moment he decided to force his way in.
Luke was angry, the state the novice was in had pushed him to the limits of his patience. Without even thinking about the consequences, he decided to act first and ask questions later!
He released Elian from his restraints and used elemental healing magic to treat some of his wounds that were still bleeding.
Then, using his threads made of spiritual energy he lifted him into the air, preparing to flee the underground prison straight towards the palace.
He activated his camouflage technique and began to move at high speed towards the exit.
However, when he was reaching the large metal door that separated the area used as barracks from the rest of the prison, he was intercepted by a group of people.
There were at least a dozen Lunaris, and all of them had a high level of spiritual cultivation. There was also a hooded person who did not emit any aura and looked like just a normal person, but when Luke inspected his information with Xylara's eye he couldn't help but straighten his back a little more and stay alert.
Xylara's eye couldn't read the hooded person's information, and only showed question marks. Luke sighed, thinking that the world was truly full of hidden experts. Or was it that he came into contact with so many monsters because he possessed the system?
He was thankful that at least Xylara's eye hadn't suffered a rebound effect like it had when he tried to see the information of that damn old man he had briefly encountered in his cell, the first time he had been captured by the Lunaris and taken to the underground prison.
"It seems that Forxis's whimsical decision paid off after all," said one of the Lunaris who was in the group, using a tired tone.
"Who would have thought that that small and insignificant monk would serve as the perfect bait to attract the person we were looking for"
Said another lunari, who was younger than the previous one and spoke with disdain, not trying to hide his contempt for the young novice Elian Calan.
"Mr. Gabriel, could you remove the camouflage technique that our enemy is using? I am a little ashamed to admit that we do not possess the ability to do it ourselves, and if we do not remove it, the probability of preventing the target from escaping is almost zero. Unless you enter the combat personally, of course," said one of the Lunaris to the hooded figure.
The hooded person did not respond, he simply raised his hand and a large amount of mana gathered in his palm, forming a dark-colored sphere of energy
Seeing the mana sphere, Luke exclaimed "Dark magic!"
Evidently, this mysterious hooded person who had appeared here must be the one who had been conducting the demonology experiments in the cage-filled room that Luke had seen just a few minutes ago.
The person threw the mana sphere at Luke, who had no time to dodge it. Making a great effort, he concentrated his spiritual power and formed a barrier with the intention of repelling the attack. The sphere, which was traveling at an impressive speed, crashed into the barrier created by Luke, creating a huge explosion that made the entire underground prison tremble.
Finally, when the shock caused by the collision of both energies subsided a little, the figure of the young human carrying the unconscious novice behind him appeared in the sight of everyone present.
"Incredible, the mana has dispersed into the environment and is blocking the activation of my camouflage technique. But how could he design a perfect counter to my technique? Did he even recognize my camouflage technique? But it is a technique that I myself invented in my previous life!"
Luke wiped the blood that was leaking from the edges of his mouth with the back of his hand, as he analyzed what had happened. The hooded figure's attack was not actually intended to hurt him. It was simply a dark magic spell, designed to nullify his camouflage technique. Dark magic was especially useful for that type of negation spells. The damage he had received had been a simple byproduct, produced by the large amount of mana that had collided with his spiritual energy barrier. Had he not erected that barrier, Luke would not have suffered any damage, since the dark magic would have dissipated on its own around him, sealing off the entire environment.
The problem was that, in theory, it was impossible to seal all the techniques in existence with a single spell. Depending on the type of spell one wanted to seal, the sealing spell had to be changed accordingly in order to be successfull in the sealing.
Evidently the hooded figure knew Luke's camouflage technique. But that shouldn't be possible, so that fact made him even more uneasy.
"As expected of you, Mr. Gabriel, your dark magic is of an incomparable level!"
"That's right, Mr. Gabriel, you will surely reach the next level at any moment. When that happens, you will reach the pinnacle of power on the continent!"
The group of Lunaris began to flatter the hooded person, seeing their interactions it could easily be distinguished who was in a dominant position in their relationship.
"Silence, listening to you gives me a headache" The hooded person said in a raspy voice. Hearing the voice, Luke felt a sense of familiarity. He thought he remembered hearing that voice, but he couldn't identify where or when it had been.
The hooded person was simply standing there, looking in the direction of Luke and Elian, and even though his eyes couldn't be seen, Luke had the feeling that he was looking at him closely, studying him.
"I'm leaving. I have to continue with other experiments. If you need me, contact me with the communication device I left you."
The hooded person said a few last words and walked away slowly. When he was a few meters away, a large amount of dark energy rose from the ground, enveloping his body completely. After a few seconds, he had completely disappeared. Luke sighed in relief when he saw that the mysterious hooded figure was gone. The group of Lunaris in front of him were difficult to deal with, but at least he had the confidence that he could fight them and even escape without further injury, if necessary. But the mysterious figure gave him a feeling of unease, the power he had briefly demonstrated was overwhelming, and Luke did not feel confident that he could survive a direct confrontation.
"Your camouflage technique is quite problematic, human. How about you give it to me? If you hand over that camouflage technique, I promise to give you a quick death."
The Lunari who spoke in a weary tone looked at him with a mocking look, and offered him a terrible deal.
Luke looked at the man using Xylara's eye

Seeing the difference in power between the two sides, he couldn't help but sigh. Then, he shook his clothes a little to get rid of some of the dust that had flown when the hooded person's attack had collided with his spiritual energy barrier and said nonchalantly
"Don't talk nonsense, you old shit. If you want my camouflage technique you're going to have to pay the price, but even if you give up your wife's ass, it won't be enough for you to get it."
Marco, the Lunari who had made the proposal, did not react immediately. After all, not in a million years would he have expected that this would be the response of the young human who he did not even consider a threat. To him, Luke had a status barely higher than that of an ant.
Finally, after a brief moment that seemed much longer, his brain processed the information that his ears had heard loud and clear. The smile that had until then adorned his face began to distort, but without disappearing completely, it simply transformed into a hideous grimace of anger.
"You are looking for death, human!!"
Marco said while the rest of the Lunari present laughed out loud.
His spiritual power exploded and he approached Luke at an impressive speed.
Luke, who was waiting for his attack, activated his movement technique and disappeared from the sight of the incredulous noble. Then, without wasting time, he took the staff out of the system inventory, and charged it with as much spiritual energy as he could.
He appeared behind Marco, who had attacked too hard in anger, and when his attack missed he was left completely unbalanced and exposed.
He concentrated all his spirit and attacked with a precise blow to the neck of the defenseless Lunari noble.
Everything happened in an instant. One moment Marco was attacking blinded by rage, and the next Luke had appeared behind him with a staff in his hand. The noble's head flew through the air, separated from the rest of his body. A large amount of blood gushed out like a fountain from his neck.
Luke remained with an indifferent look throughout the process. To end his series of glorious actions, he pushed the decapitated body to the ground with a kick, crushing Marco's still warm corpse with the sole of his shoe. He put the staff, that had not been stained with the blood that had flown from the neck, in his shoulder and said
"who's next?"
The group of Lunari nobles remained motionless, watching the young human in surprise. They didn't expect that besides having an excellent camouflage technique, he also had other techniques so powerful that he could fight with someone at a higher cultivation level.
Now, they didn't dare to make a careless move. They were nobles of Lunaria! They had never had to fight on any battlefield. The high cultivation level they had was due to the large investment their families had made over the years to buy spiritual herbs to help them progress at a high speed. Most of the nobles present didn't even know a decent combat technique!
"This human is a tougher opponent than we thought."
"How about we call the knights of our families instead? It's better to act with caution."
All the noble families of Lunaria, possessed a small number of private soldiers, who were used for family protection. The members of this group of soldiers were usually commoners who were sponsored by the family and were given the title of "knight", which was not considered part of the nobility, but separated them from the common people.
These knights from noble families were usually marked with a seal of loyalty similar to slavery, but not as restrictive. For this reason, the nobles had no qualms about using their knights, these were their most loyal dogs and carried out the dirtiest jobs for them.
The nobles, after seeing Luke's power, were hesitant despite being clearly stronger than him. They had started to discuss how to deal with the situation, but it wasn't long before one of the nobles noticed something strange.
"Hey, isn't there something strange with the mana that Mr. Gabriel left behind?"
Gabriel, the hooded person, had left his dark magic in place to seal Luke's camouflage technique, but now that dark magic was fluctuating slightly and seemed to be dissolving!
"It's the human, he's trying to dissolve the magic so he can escape with his strange technique!" warned another of the nobles who was a little smarter than the others.
Immediately, all the nobles became alarmed. They had finally managed to corner the human who had entered the spider queen's territory. If they eliminated him and then all the prisoners who had been rescued from the cave, there would be no one who could follow the trail of the abductions and notice their involvement in the events. They couldn't let the human escape.
"Let's all attack together! No matter how strange his techniques are, he's still a weakling in terms of cultivation! He won't be able to take on all of us."
Luke clicked his tongue.
"They're not that stupid after all. It seems I won't be able to escape without a fight"
Just as the nobles had guessed, Luke was using his own mana to dissolve the dark magic that was constricting him. There were two ways to get rid of a permanent spell like this, the first way was to destroy it using a great amount of power, obviously Luke could not achieve such a thing in his current state. The second way, however, was much more subtle, it involved dissolving the key points that made up the spell so that it would collapse, to do this a large amount of mana was not needed, but a great amount of knowledge in spells and magic formations was required instead. Luke, who had been one of the most renowned magicians on the continent in his past life, was one of the few people in the world who could use this method to deal with magic as powerful as the one the mysterious hooded figure had left behind when he left.
Luke had used much of his meager spiritual power to finish off the Lunari noble Marco. He had done so with the intention of scaring his enemies and giving him a small window of time that he could use to undo the dark magic. However, his plan had failed, and he was now in a dangerous situation again.
The nobles pounced on him and began to attack him. Luke used his movement technique to dodge them, but the speed he could exert was not great enough to surpass the speed of the nobles who were at level four of spiritual cultivation.
He hardened his muscles using a defensive technique, but his meager spiritual power was being consumed at a rapid rate.
He tried to counterattack several times, but their attacks caused too much damage.
Little by little, he was left in an increasingly passive position.
"You almost fooled us for a moment, human."
"I hope you are prepared, as soon as your measly spiritual power runs out and you can no longer run like a little bitch we will capture you, and then true hell will begin for you!"
"I will teach you a lesson for wasting my time, kid."
The nobles, who saw that the situation was completely favorable to them, began to speak aggressively, to release the frustration they had accumulated.
Luke received a strong blow to his left arm and felt the bone break. Then his movement technique that could no longer keep up with the frenetic pace of the battle, failed to activate due to the low amount of spiritual energy he had. Two more blows rained down on his body, one on his stomach that almost shattered his internal organs, and another on his face, which no longer maintained its usual handsomeness.
His face was swollen, his arm hung at his side, and he finally fell to his knees on the ground. The Lunarian nobles stopped their attacks, as they had mentioned before, they did not want to kill him yet. They would make him suffer first.
Luke looked around and saw that there was no escape. He would have to use berserk mode again but he did not want to do it.
The last time he had used it, his body had been shattered. The only reason he had been able to recover so quickly was because he had been helped by the dragon goddess. Now, if he were to use berserk mode, there would be no dragon goddess to assist him and alleviate the side effects. After all, right now the imposing dragon goddess was a little girl who had been listed by the system as his mount, and was sleeping somewhere inside his body.
Ever since he had been reborn, he had been involved in battles far beyond his current capabilities. These battles would have been difficult even with the power he had in his previous life!
Luke cursed inwardly, and thought that the fact that he was so plagued by so many incidents was surely the work of the damn system.
He prepared to activate berserk mode regardless of the consequences.
But just at that moment, a melodious voice echoed in his mind.
"You're putting your life at risk again, I just want you to stay safe. But you always had that tendency to go towards the fire."
The beautiful voice was softly rebuking him, but there was no anger in her tone, only great concern.
A large amount of light began to be expelled from his body, forming a silhouette that floated in the air.
When the light subsided, the person who appeared was undoubtedly Kaidara, the dragon goddess of ether.
But she was not in her usual child form which looked like a small porcelain doll. Instead, a woman so sexy and beautiful that there was no description that could capture her beauty, floated in the air. Her long hair floated even though there was no breeze.
This time she was not naked, but was covered in semi-transparent clothes that were made of some kind of energy that Luke could not identify.
The beautiful Kaidara looked at the Lunari nobles with disdain. Then she turned around and focused her gaze on the young man who was all bruised from the great beating he had received.
Floating, she approached him and kissed him on the forehead gently.
"I can't stay here for long. I'll help you get rid of this trash, but please try not to get into too much trouble. This time, my little avatar will have to rest for at least six months to recover."
Luke gaped at the beautiful goddess, his swollen face making his surprised expression look funny.
The goddess put a hand to her mouth and smiled slightly with her eyes half closed.
Then she looked at the staff that had fallen to the ground and with a movement of her hand, she picked it up without touching it.
"I'm going to borrow this stick."
The goddess took the stick firmly and then hit it against the ground.
The entire underground prison began to shake.
And deep within the ground, far deeper than anyone had ever dug, a large amount of light-attribute divine power that was so concentrated that it had solidified, began to vibrate violently.
