A zombie was wandering aimlessly on the desolate street.
He slightly curled his lips, a thread of saliva hanging from the corner of his mouth, and a chilling glint shone out from his reddened eyes.
Not far in front of him was an abandoned small supermarket. The glass door was splattered with brown bloodstains, and through the open glass door, you could vaguely see the shelves inside that were lying on their sides, as well as some scattered food around them.
Behind the supermarket door, there was another middle-aged male zombie slowly moving. Judging from his clothes, he should be a supermarket staff member.
The zombie slowly approached the supermarket, and after brushing past a middle-aged male zombie, he suddenly pulled out a bone-cutting knife from his waist and turned around to cut off the others neck.
Blood splattered everywhere, and the headless corpse immediately fell to the ground.
And this strange-moving zombie immediately grabbed a shopping bag from behind the counter and started quickly collecting food in the supermarket...
"Ugh... Im exhausted..."
In a dimly lit residential house, Ling Mo, who was sweating profusely, looked at the bag full of food and daily necessities in his hand with satisfaction.
But in front of him, sat the zombie that appeared in the small supermarket. However, this zombies gaze at Ling Mo didnt have any malice, and even seemed somewhat empty.
"Compared to a few days ago, Ive made tremendous progress and can now control it relatively flexibly."
Ling Mo shifted his gaze towards this zombie, a hint of a smile appearing at the corner of his mouth.
Half a month ago, the emergence of a new virus turned this world into a brutal slaughterhouse in an instant.
Countless humans turned into zombies... To be exact, they should be called crazy monsters that lost their self-consciousness after being infected with the virus and only knew how to kill.
The survivors who lived on had no choice but to hide in the corners of the city like mice to survive.
But Ling Mo, who was originally just an ordinary person, discovered after the apocalypse that he could actually control zombies.
He could feel a subtle connection between himself and the zombies, the empty-headed zombies were like puppets without thoughts, while he could inject his own thoughts into them, thereby controlling their actions.
But his initial attempts were extremely difficult, and the zombies often suddenly broke free from his control, even bringing him several life-threatening crises.
As the number of attempts increased, Ling Mo finally grasped some tricks, which not only allowed him to maintain control over the zombies but also manipulate them to move around and collect food and other necessities for himself.
However, the distance between them could never be too far, which made Ling Mo somewhat melancholy.
He felt like a zombie controller now, with lines that werent long enough and unskilled manipulation techniques.
But being able to use the undead to survive more safely has made Ling Mo very satisfied with this ability. He will call the undead that he controls, Corpse Puppet.
In the process of manipulating the corpse, Ling Mo also vaguely felt that while he was controlling the other person, a violent feeling was also affecting himself.
Whether this influence is good or bad, he cant say for now...
These days, Ling Mo also had some understanding of the zombies habits. Unlike the general meaning of zombies, these zombies were not living dead people, but living people infected with the virus.
However, although the body is still human, it has completely become a monster spiritually. They attack uninfected survivors, tearing and biting at their flesh with incredible strength, far surpassing that of ordinary humans.
That virus thoroughly destroyed their sanity, dominated their thoughts, and turned them into executioners driven by the instinct to slaughter.
In Ling Mos view, this kind of zombie was even more terrifying than the ones he had seen in games and movies, because they retained their five senses. Whether it was sound or smell, anything could attract their attention.
"The sun is about to set, lets head back for today."
The residents houses here are not safe, they are just temporary places where Ling Mo controls the corpses.
After stuffing all the supplies collected today into his backpack, Ling Mo shook his somewhat aching head and controlled the puppet to stand up.
Looking at this corpse face-to-face standing right in front of him, Ling Mo still felt a bit strange.
Although it doesnt emit a rotten stench like in the movies, the zombies body still has a strong bloody smell. The virus infection made his face pale and bloodless, with a pair of eyes glowing red, and through the slightly open mouth, you can still see the red flesh threads stuck on his teeth.
No need to think about it, this must be a leftover from when I ate humans before...
This zombies appearance isnt bad, its a boy of about seventeen or eighteen years old, but now this look makes people feel like its an evil spirit.
"Lets go, lets go..."
Ling Mo suppressed the nauseating feeling and controlled the corpse puppet as it walked down the stairs.
Although there are corpses opening the way, it doesnt mean that one is safe. Ling Mo held a sharp bone-picking knife in his hand and carefully followed behind the corpse.
From here to his temporary residence, you need to cross a big street. When he came over in the morning, Ling Mo found some firecrackers and first made some noise in the opposite direction, attracting most of the zombies on this street away. Even so, there were still some zombies wandering around on the street.
Having safely arrived at the intersection, Ling Mo discovered that trouble had come.
Two zombies blocked the road, and it was unclear where they came from. Their bodies were splattered with fresh blood, and one of them held half an arm in its hand, bent down and gnawing frantically.
In this provincial city with a population of millions, survivors die every day in search of food, and the dead are not rare.
But seeing that mangled arm, Ling Mo still felt a pang of sympathy. It was precisely because he had the ability that he had the capital to live a better life, and he absolutely could not become the meal of these monsters due to a moments carelessness.
Ling Mo carefully manipulated the corpse puppet to move closer to them. As it approached one of them, he raised his Bone Cutting Knife.
While another zombie was attracted by the sound and drew attention, Ling Mo grasped his knife and rushed to his back, stabbing a knife into the back of his brain.
Two zombies almost died at the same time, and after exerting great force to pull out the knife, Ling Mo kicked over the corpse in front of him.
When he has the opportunity to take action, Ling Mo will never miss it. Controlling the corpse puppet is very useful, but he must also have the ability to protect himself.
Moreover, Ling Mo faintly felt that when he killed the zombies, the fierce feeling inside him was secretly brewing. The moment he pulled out his knife, he even vaguely sensed a thread of pleasure.
"Viruses wont spread through spiritual connections... If they did, Id have mutated long ago... Its not the virus influence, so what is it?"
Ling Mo was very concerned about this subtle change, but for now, there were no leads.
However, being able to cleanly and efficiently kill zombies, and his technique becoming more and more skilled, was a good thing for Ling Mo.
Before the apocalypse arrived, he was just an ordinary person. The first time he killed a zombie, not only was the process thrilling, but afterwards he also felt a lingering fear, and even his brain felt a bit dizzy.
But in order to survive, fighting power must be increased.
And in Ling Mos heart, he had always been thinking of one person. The rapid improvement in his mastery of the zombies and the collection of as many supplies as possible were all for the sake of traversing this area to find her...
