You Will Regret This Ichinose! [50]

  "Uninhabited isnd survival!"

Standing at the podium, Uesugi Gen made his solemn decration to the entire css.

"This… is the theme of this special exam during summer vacation."

The students of Css B stared at the rge characters written on the bckboard, momentarily stunned by the school's decision.

A voice finally broke the silence.

"I'm a little surprised… but at the same time, not really."

  Kanzaki Ryuji sighed, smiling bitterly.

As unreliable as Uesugi Gen was, his intel had never been wrong.

Survival on a deserted isnd—considering this school’s twisted logic, it wasn’t an unreasonable exam theme.

"Well, at least this time you actually did something a vice css representative should be doing."

Himeno Yuki gnced at Uesugi and remarked,

"With this information, our preparation for the exam will be so much easier."

This guy might be a lost cause most of the time, but when it comes to things that benefit Css B, he does put in some effort.

"Of course!" Uesugi puffed up his chest, thumping it with confidence.

"I’m the css representative, after all! Would I take your money and not do my job?"

  Then he silently added—

If they ever found out I secretly pocketed those three million points, my glorious reputation would come crashing down instantly…

But seriously, how could he possibly resist when such a huge pile of points was just sitting there?

He could barely sleep at night just thinking about it.

As Css B’s treasurer (self-procimed), guardian of its wealth, and a man with grand ambitions, he firmly believed—

This money was destined to belong to me.

Unfortunately, thanks to a moment of carelessness, he had been betrayed by vilins (read: circumstances) and forced to scavenge for food every day (mooching off others).

To make things worse, his mortal enemy (Ichinose) mocked him to his face by inviting him to eat with her every day.

  But no worries.

Wealth should be in the hands of the virtuous.

And obviously, I, Uesugi Gen, am a man of great virtue.

So, naturally, all of Css B’s points belonged to him.

And once they saved up more, he’d repeat the same trick and drain the funds again.

  Perfect pn!

My money is my money. Your money… is also my money.

  Everything belongs to me!

  ...

  Back to the main topic—

Ichinose rested her chin on her hand, thinking for a moment before saying,

"Since we already know the exam is about survival on a deserted isnd, we should focus our preparation on that. Does anyone here have any relevant experience?"

She turned to face the css.

"Camping, cooking, fishing… Anything reted will help!"

"Uhm, Ichinose… I used to live with my grandparents in the countryside, so I know how to identify edible pnts. Does that count?"

A student raised their hand hesitantly.

"Of course! Anyone else? The more, the better!"

  Ichinose nodded in approval.

  "Uhm… I can set up a tent."

"I know how to start a fire without a lighter."

  "I’ve done some fishing before…"

  …

One after another, Css B students enthusiastically shared their skills.

Seeing the growing number of volunteers, Amikura Mako and a group of girls stood up.

"We’ll help Ichinose gather and organize all the useful skills we have."

"Since that's the case, we can't fall behind either."

Kanzaki also stood up and looked at the members of Uesugi’s group.

"We’ll start assigning roles for each person based on their abilities, so everyone can focus on their tasks in advance."

"That way, when the exam starts, we’ll already know who does what, saving us time and energy."

The members of Uesugi’s group nodded in agreement.

After finishing his expnation, Kanzaki turned to Uesugi.

"Uesugi, do you have anything to add?"

Instead of answering directly, Uesugi threw a question back at him.

"Kanzaki, what’s the first thing you should do when forming a new team?"

Kanzaki thought for a moment before replying.

"First, you need to make sure everyone knows each other and understands each member’s strengths and weaknesses. That way, you can maximize efficiency by utilizing those strengths properly. Finally, you unite them under one leader so they can function as a single unit…"

He paused mid-sentence, eyes widening in realization.

  "Exactly."

  Uesugi smirked and continued,

"You’ve noticed it too, haven’t you?"

"The reason the school chose this type of special exam at this specific time…"

"…is to evaluate how well each css has come together over the past semester."

Before Kanzaki could reply, another voice suddenly chimed in.

  "That’s right."

Ichinose, who had unknowingly approached, answered in his pce.

Uesugi turned to her with a raised brow.

  "You—"

"Amikura and the others said you were discussing something important, so they asked me to check it out."

Before he could finish his question, Ichinose had already provided an answer with a bright smile.

Then, standing beside Uesugi, her expression turned serious.

  "Teamwork, leadership, crisis management…"

"In order to succeed in all of these areas, a css must operate under a single leader with unified decision-making."

"If we can’t fully integrate as a css by this point, then we’ve already lost half the battle before the exam even begins."

"This special exam is a direct evaluation of how well each css has been able to function as a unit over the past semester."

  Ichinose decred with unshakable confidence.

  Wow, everyone’s really fired up…

Watching the determined expressions of Css B, Uesugi sighed.

If you guys are working this hard, I can’t afford to sck off either.

With that thought, he straightened his posture and added—

"Surviving on an uninhabited isnd is something that even professional survivalists can struggle with. The school won’t push it to the extreme, so they’ll definitely provide basic necessities to ensure our safety."

"However, since they also need to quantify our performance, they won’t be able to accurately judge each student’s condition in real-time."

"Kanzaki, how do you think they’ll solve that issue?"

Before Kanzaki could answer, Uesugi gave the expnation himself.

"The easiest solution is to provide us with ample supplies at the start, ensuring no one is at risk of serious harm."

"Then, they’ll have the students decide for themselves how much they’re willing to sacrifice in order to survive."

"Finally, they’ll rank the csses based on resource consumption—less reliance on provided supplies equals higher scores."

"As for the conflict mechanism that’ll make us compete with the other csses… We don’t have enough information yet to determine how that’ll py out."

  "But!"

Uesugi paused for dramatic effect before facing the entire css.

"I guarantee—the ones winning this exam will be us, Css B!"

  He made his bold decration.

And thus, the war preparations of Css B officially began.
