You Will Regret This Ichinose! [39]

  Css A: 1004 CPCss B: 953 CPCss C: 492 CPCss D: -23 CP

"Wow, the school’s feeling pretty generous this time. That’s a big jump in css points."

Uesugi y sprawled across his desk, muttering absentmindedly.

Judging by the point changes, he could roughly guess how each css had performed.

Css A and Css B likely won their points fair and square, purely through ability.

As for why Css B gained more than Css A... well, that was probably due to Uesugi’s deal with the school and the fact that B-Css had the highest score increase overall.

Css C, on the other hand…

  Uesugi stroked his chin.

Even though no one was expelled, their points had only gone up by two. Did they get penalized somewhere else?

In other words, even knowing that unethical behavior led to deductions, they still went through with it.

Are they deliberately testing the limits of the school’s rules?

Gotta hand it to him—that guy’s got guts.

  But still, guts or not…

  Uesugi sighed dramatically.

If you wanted to know, you could’ve just asked me.

For a mere 500,000 points, he’d gdly share his vast, benevolent knowledge as a senior student. If that was too pricey, he could offer a bundled package of all past rule viotions recorded by the student council—for 300,000 points.

And as for Css D… Well, considering their negative points, there was nothing left to deduct. The school was probably rewarding them for not abandoning their cssmates.

Looking at the numbers, 1.9 million points for 77 css points wasn’t actually a bad deal.

  The real problem was…

"Sensei, where’s this month’s allowance? If this keeps up, I’m gonna starve!"

Uesugi smacked the desk in protest.

Kanzaki Ryūji shot him a judgmental look.

"You do realize that Shibata and I covered more than half your expenses st month, right? Even when Ichinose offered to make you lunch, you refused. Do you enjoy mooching off people?"

"More importantly, your student council stipend already came in, didn’t it?"

Caught red-handed, Uesugi’s face turned red.

"Ahem… Silence! A subordinate shouldn’t talk back to their leader!"

  "You’re the vice leader, idiot!"

The entire Css B retorted in unison.

  "Well, um… hmm…"

Hoshinomiya-sensei, struggling to hold back her ughter, took a long moment before she finally started expining.

  As she spoke—

The expressions of Css B students shifted from curiosity…

  To shock…

  And finally, to speechless disbelief.

  "...What a genius."

Uesugi muttered after a long silence.

Just from Hoshinomiya’s account, anyone with half a brain could see it was a trap.

"So, Css C set him up on purpose, huh?"

Shibata leaned in and whispered to Uesugi.

See? Even Shibata figured it out.

  SMACK!

A hand spped the back of Uesugi’s head.

  "What the hell?"

"My hand slipped. I just had a feeling you were thinking something rude."

  Shibata fshed an unapologetic smile.

  A talent like this…

You won’t find another one in the entire school. D-Css should consider themselves lucky.

Horikita-san, if I give you another 1.9 million, can you find me another one just like him and send them to Css C?

  ---

Css AThey weren’t paying attention to the chaos unfolding in the lower-ranked csses.

All their focus was on Css B.

  Katsuragi Kōhei furrowed his brows.

"The gap between us and Css B isn’t widening—it’s shrinking. How are they pulling this off?"

It was an undeniable fact that Css A had the highest overall ability among all the first-years.

Yet, despite that, they weren’t extending their lead.

Instead, Css B was catching up fast.

  This made Katsuragi extremely uneasy.

But unlike him, Sakayanagi Arisu showed no concern at all. In fact, she looked positively entertained as she spoke to Kamuro Masumi.

"So, Masumi-chan, how’s your investigation on that Uesugi-kun going?"

Kamuro’s expression kept shifting. Eventually, she let out a long sigh.

"All evidence says he’s not that bastard. But my gut keeps screaming—it’s definitely him!"

"Oh? That’s interesting. Care to share the details, Masumi-chan?"

  After listening to Kamuro’s expnation—

Even Sakayanagi’s usual composed smile faltered slightly.

"...You’re telling me he not only forces his cssmates to treat him to meals, but also abuses his position as the vice president of the student council to extort favors?"

Sakayanagi wasn’t particurly invested in the css rankings.

But she was deeply invested in Advanced Nurturing High School itself—her father’s legacy.

And now, someone was tarnishing that legacy.

And worse, this disgrace was someone her father had personally invited to the school.

Even with her strategic mind, for the first time, Sakayanagi found herself at a loss for words.

Father… are you sure about this?

Kamuro propped her chin on one hand.

"That’s why I keep saying he isn’t the guy. But this indescribable feeling tells me… it’s definitely him."

  ---

Css CNothing much to say—just the usual group of delusional idiots having way too much fun.

  ---

Css D"Yamauchi, regarding Css C’s accusation that you physically assaulted them… do you have any objections?"

On the podium, Chabashira Sae stood with her arms crossed, trying to keep her tone as neutral as possible.

"Sensei, there’s gotta be some mistake! Yamauchi-kun wouldn’t do something like that!"

Hirata Yōsuke jumped up from his seat, trying to defend him.

  But then—

"What are you talking about, Hirata? Of course I did it! Cool, huh?"

Yamauchi proudly admitted it. In front of the entire css.

"Uhh… Yamauchi, let me remind you—if the school finds you guilty of this, you’ll face some very serious consequences."

Chabashira pressed her fingers against her temple, visibly exhausted.

No matter how much she tried to act indifferent, her goal was still to reach Css A.

Yamauchi, however, grinned like an idiot.

"So what? It’s not like I’ll get expelled, right?"

His overconfidence was off the charts.

At that moment, the entire Css D fell silent.

Holy shit, he actually said it.

Sudō stared at his friend, as if seeing him for the first time.

Even he, a guy who regurly got into fights, knew this was the kind of thing you never admitted.

Horikita gazed bnkly at the ceiling, her cold and composed mask completely shattered.

Maybe I should just grind my way to 20 million points and buy my way into Css A instead.

  "Hmhmhm! How fascinating! Truly fascinating!"

Kōenji, legs crossed, burst into ughter.

"This is the first time I’ve seen someone so hiriously full of themselves!"

"Hah? The hell did you say, Kōenji? You wanna go too?"

Yamauchi cracked his knuckles, then noticed Ayanokōji staring at him.

With a smug grin, he sneered—

"Well, Ayanokōji, how about this? Wanna be my underling? Just pay me 10,000 points a month, and I’ll let you in."

  Ayanokōji was speechless.

For the first time in his life, he had encountered someone he truly couldn’t comprehend.

In that moment, he had only one thing to say—

  "Yamauchi, you’re built different."
