Hirohito sat in his prison cell in Neo-Tokyo, looking like he had aged much more than his actual age, 32. His hair was already almost completely grey, and he had noticeable eyebags beneath his weary eyes. From his appearance, he had a scruffy beard and unkempt hair, he almost looked like a homeless person.
He had given up on trying to look presentable a long time ago. He was in prison for a crime he didn’t even remember committing, after all.
The cell he was in was small and cramped, barely big enough to move around in. The walls weren dirty and there were stains everywhere. In the corner, there was a small, dirty bed, a broken mirror, and a toilet that barely worked. The only source of light came from a small window high up on the wall, barely letting in any light at all.
Hirohito’s life had taken a turn for the worse ever since the death of his best friend, Hayato. Hayato had been more than a friend, he had been like a brother to him. He had been working for a Megacorp, which had been a stable and well paying job, but Hayato had been working against them. Because of that, he had been killed, and Hirohito had lost his only friend.
From that day on, Hirohito had slowly been spiralling downhill. He had turned to heavy drinking and eventually lost his job. Without the income, he couldn’t provide for his wife and child, and soon he found himself on the streets, homeless and alone. And then, one day he snapped. He stole some weapons and stormed into one of the branches of the Kusonoki conglomerate in Neo-Tokyo and went roughe. He had killed almost a 100 people that day.
He was arrested and thrown into prison, accused of all kinds of terrible things. The Kusonoki conglomerate had been able to pull some strings to get him arrested before the proper investigations were done and he was accused of terrorism, murder, and treason against the conglomerate.
He had protested at first, arguing that he was innocent, but no one had listened to him and he was thrown in prison without much of a trial. And so, he had been rotting in here for almost a year now. How was his wife? His daughter? He didn’t know.
He couldn’t help but wonder how they were doing. He had no contact with the outside world, and he had been given no indication of their well-being. He hoped that they had managed to survive without him, that they were doing okay. But he knew that it was unlikely..
What hayato had discovered while working for the megacorp, Kusonoki, was involved in several illegal activities such as human trafficking, slavery, assassination, murder, terrorism and all sorts of violation of human rights. He had evidence to back up his claims and was planning to expose the company’s wrongdoings.
They couldn’t let him leak this information, so they had silenced him permanently.
Hayato’s death had been made to look like an accident and his evidence had been destroyed. But they didn’t know there was still a copy left. Only he knew where it was.
A day before he had died, Hayato had sent Hirohito an email. The message was in a cryptic language that had been developed by their grandfathers, which they had used while playing a game called “Hollow”. It had seemed like a trivial thing at the time, but now it turned out to be extremely useful.
This language was not known to anyone else except them and thus it was impossible for the megacorp’s to understand the message even if they were monitoring all communication channels. Which was probably the case, judging by their paranoia.
After Hayato’s tragic death, Hirohito had gone to his apartment only to find that the megacorp’s had cleaned up the place, leaving almost nothing of value. However, in a small hidden compartment, he had found an old hard drive. It wasn’t the most advanced tech but it was definitely secure, making it practically impossible to hack into.
He had quickly took the hard drive and left the apartment, carefully making sure that he wasn’t being followed. Once he was safely away, he had hidden if away..where you may ask? In his old apartment in an urn filled with his mother’s ashes. His mother had died a long time ago and he had always respected her, even keeping an urn with her ashes. It was a hard decision to put the hard drive in there but it was the safest bet since it was the last place anyone would look.
Plus, he had hoped that his mother would approve. She had always hated the Megacorp’s and the way they treated the people, so maybe she would be happy that he was fighting them.
Back a year ago, Hachiman had been a normal functioning person of the low income class, he had been healthy and looked fine. But the secret that he had found had slowly taken a toll on him, like a flame consuming a candle.
Hirohito had spent all the days he was imprisoned here thinking about how he could bring down the Kusonoki conglomerate. He knew that they were evil, that they had killed his best friend Hayato. But he was just a single man against a giant, mega corporation. It seemed like an impossible task.
Not to mention it’s current ceo isn’t even on earth, he’s in a luxurious colony on Mars.
And the Kusonoki conglomerate wasn’t even the biggest of the megacorps all over the world, that title belonged to someone else, the Kusonoki conglomerate was the 4th biggest company in Asia alone. Not to mention all the other ones, there was the Akashi conglomerate in Europe, The Kugutsu conglomerate in Africa and the biggest of them all, The white-room conglomerate in USA.
Hirohito shook his head. They all had to go.
Hirohito had always been a bit more reckless than Hayato, more prone to taking risks and acting impulsively. Perhaps Hayato had known that, and had entrusted the information to him because he had known that he would act on it.
Maybe that had been Hayato’s plan all along, to get him to act. He couldn’t be sure, but it was a possibility.
The lights in the prison suddenly went out, leaving Hirohito in complete darkness. Power outages were extremely rare in the year 2109, they were almost unheard of, so this was a strange occurrence.
He looked around, trying to adjust his eyes to the dark, but it was difficult. All his senses seemed heightened, the sound of his own breathing and heartbeat in his ear’s. He heard a few prison guards shout in surprise, their flashlights quickly going on. It seemed like the power outage was not just limited to his cell. The already cold cell became even colder, causing Hirohito to shiver. He could barely make out his hands in the faint light coming from the small window high up on the wall. He thought about blocking the small streams of light, but he knew that would leave him in complete darkness, which was something he wanted to avoid.
A small object suddenly fell onto his lap, causing him to startle. He couldn’t see what it was as the cell was still completely dark, but it couldn’t be a bug, because it was winter right now. He cautiously reached out to feel the object, trying to figure out what it was.
It felt smooth to the touch. But it was also cold and hard...metal..no...it felt more organic...like a tooth of sorts..A bone? He tried to shake the object off of him, not sure if it was something alive or not.
Just then, the electricity came back on, and the room lit up again. He quickly looked down at his lap and saw that the object that had fallen on him was a tooth.
It was a massive fang of sorts.. with two holes on it..like an old horn from the medieval ages which was used to signal something. He picked up the tooth and looked at it closely in the light, it was big, bigger than a normal human’s fang...it looked like it was from a carnivore animal.
But how did it end up in his Cell?? Was someone playing a prank on him..but why? He was a prisoner on death row after all.

He clenched the tooth tightly in his hand and looked around his cell, trying to see if someone was watching him but there was no one there.
He raised the fang to his lips and blew into it, his curiosity getting the better of him. He was not sure what to expect, but he figured it won’t do any harm. His cell was sound proof after all, he had spent time shouting insults at the guards, making them mad, which used to be really fun so they made his room soundproof.
The sound was shrill, making his ears hurt. He wasn’t sure what to make of it, it sounded like a cross between a scream and a whistle. He blew into it once more, the sound was still shrill and loud..this time something happened.
A red circle appeared in front of him, covering all the ground of his cell. It was so big that it made his entire cell glow red, it was almost blinding. The inside of the red circle was filled with symbols and markings, it looked like some kind of magic ritual. The markings and symbols seemed to be very old and ancient.
Squinting his eyes, He recoiled in surprise, dropping the tooth, as he watched the circle glow. It was almost hypnotizing. He rubbed his eyes, thinking he was hallucinating from the lack of sunlight, he had not gone out of his cell in almost 6 months and had been denied basic medical needs...maybe the lack of it was finally getting to him.
Just when he was about to believe that it was all in his head... something started to come out of it.
The being that emerged from the circle was something out of a nightmare, a demon. It floated above ground, standing at a height of about 8ft, its appearance was horrifying to say the least. It had. OIt was humanoid with no visible muscle mass, only skin and bones. Its upper torso was covered in what looked like blood, its waist covered with a filthy black cloth, like a loin cloth. And it’s neck looked like it had been split open vertically, like it had another mouth there.
Its eyes were as dark as the night, and its face was caked in dirt. It had a set of long arms which went all the way down to its ankles, and a second set of arms wrapped around its own waist, clasped together as if in prayer.
As if the creature couldn’t get more terrifying, from the sides and back of its face sprouted a huge, thick tail, adorned with 30 red eyes and a staggering 10 bug-like arms. The tail then gave birth to a second body, which was even more massive, it was like a centipede’s body. The body was entirely black, and it had no less than 40 bug arms protruding from it..
Hirohito had no idea that the fang he was holding, which was called [Baphomet’s Legacy], was a very-rare rank item. It was capable of summoning up to three demons up to level 40, 6 times a day. However, it did have its drawbacks, the demons summoned by the fang would not harm those of the demon race, nor anyone else who possesses a lesser or legendary item. Additionally, there was a four minute cool down after each summoning.
He however, was unaware of its true capabilities. If he had known what it could do he would have been flabbergasted. However, he had no idea of the powers of the item – it just seemed like a normal tooth he found. It was horrifying, to say the least, but Hirohito was so entranced with this creature that he instinctively reached a hand out to touch it. It was almost like he was in a trance...he needed to touch it...as soon as it made contact with the demon, he yanked his hand back and held it with his other hand. It hurt.
What caused it was one of the demon’s skill, [Thorns].
The skill would inflict a small amount of damage onto anyone who was lower-levelled than it, if they touched the Demon. It also had skills such as [Explosion], [Lesser Fire Resistance (because it was a Demon)], [Lesser-healing], [Insanity (80% chance of confusion and 50% chance of insanity to those within a 5m radius)], [Fly], and [Blessed by poison] and a few other’s .
It also knew 20 spells upto 4th tier.
[Fireblast], [Minor Shield], [bind], [thunder], [witch’s curse], [Agony Shot], [Shriek of the Dead], [firework], [winds end], [wall of glyph’s], [deathly delusion], [void mass], [inkwell imp’s], [repelling rage], [pillar of earth], [impairing bolt], [fowl tendrils], [hemeosphere], [devour flesh], [Lesser-teleportation].
Gently touching Hirohito’s hand, the pain which was once in his hand moments ago, was gone. It was as if the creature had a healing touch, and despite it’s terrifying appearance, it had done something benevolent. The demon then spoke, its voice was deep and distorted, it sounded like a thousand voices overlapping each other.
“Forgive me, O Summoner,” the demon said. “I shall obey thy every command, but permit me to turn my passive ‘Thorns’ skill off.”
Its voice sent shudders down Hirohito’s shoulders.
“Thorns?” Hirohito said, his own voice barely loud enough for the demon to hear him. Passive skills? What did it mean by that? This wasn’t a game.
“Yes, O Summoner, ‘Thorns’ is my skill. It turns any contact with my skin into a painful encounter.”
The demon said, still maintaining it’s polite tone.
“However, if I were to turn it off...”
It said, it’s bug like arms, wriggling around as he spoke.
“Yes, please turn it off, I..I’m not fond of pain.”
“As you command, O Summoner.”
The demon waved his hand and a blue light enveloped his body for a second and then the light was gone.
“There, ‘Thorns’ is off. You may touch me without pain now.”
Hirohito looked at the demon, a bit skeptically, before reaching out a hand and placing it on the demon’s shoulder. He wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but he was surprised to find that it felt just like touching any other person’s skin.
Nothing, no pain, no burning, no discomfort. Just normal human-like skin.
“Amazing..” Hirohito said, amazed at the fact. “What else can you do, uh-“ he trailed off, realising that he didn’t know the demon’s name
“You may call me Gha’al.”
The demon said, not missing a beat.
“Gha’al? What sort of name was that,” Hirohito thought to himself.
“Gha’al..interesting name.” Hirohito said, with a bit of disbelief in his voice.
He was still in shock over the fact that he just summoned a real demon.
“Of course, O summoner.”
In a tone similar to how a teacher would speak to a curious student, gha’al spoke.
“I am a demon. And to be even more specific, I am the lowest rank of the higher demon, or an ‘Archfiend’ as some like to call us.”
“I see... and how did I summon you exactly?”
Gha’al smiled, it looked quite uncanny given his appearance.
“With the horn of course, it’s a item called [Baphomet’s legacy]. Although you should have known what it was when you used it.”
Hirohito’s eyebrows furrowed. “How was I supposed to know that a random horn could summon a god damn demon?!” He said, not wanting to sound rude but failing to.
“Oh, well I guess that explains it, but this is a very rare situation, nevertheless now I am bound to you, you are my master.
“So, what are your abilities? What can you do as my..my demon?”
“Oh, I can do many things O’ summoner, I can heal you, I can summon other lesser demons, I can create things out of thin air using [create lesser item] and I can also fight for you.”
Hirohito’s eyes widened, he was starting to realise that he had just gotten a very powerful being at his disposal. “Create things? Fight for me?” He said, a bit excited.
“I rival a death knight in strength.”
Even through the demon said it so confidently, a Death knight? He had never heard of something like that before, but if it rivalled Gha’al, then it had to be pretty terrifying, just like the demon in front of him.
“A death knight, a humanoid undead, is quite a powerful undead knight. In case you are wondering how powerful a death knight is, they can lift up a massive boulder and throw it away like a pebble.”
“Oh...” Hirohito said, his eyes wide and mouth open. A death knight was powerful, to say the least and this demon was equal to that...this..was..exciting.
“Of course,” Gha’al continued. “I am the lowest rank of a Archfiend, even a mid ranks stronger demon could easily rip my head off. In that sense, I am a bit on the weak side. But the fact still remains, I am quite strong for my rank.”
“So tell me, is resurrection possible?”
resurrection
It was a idea so far fetched that it sounds utterly impossible...but since this demon could use magic..maybe it was something possible? After all, if it indeed was real then he could ask the demon to bring back Hayato.
“Is it possible?”
Hirohito repeated again, his eyes holding a hope that he had forgotten he had.
“To bring back the dead?” Gha’al distorted voice rang out. “It was possible..resurrection magic exits but only demons above level 50 know it, I am level 40. There is one resurrection spell called [breath of life] but sadly I don’t know it.”
Hirohito felt a small hope in his heart get extinguished. This..this wasn’t how this was supposed to go.
“Only those above 50 and you’re 40? What the hell is up with that?” Hirohito couldn’t help but ask, a bit annoyed also level? Why was the demon using levels for a measure of power? This wasn’t a game.
Gha’al chuckled but didn’t say anything further. “So, resurrection is impossible for you?” Hirohito asked again, trying to keep his hope alive...
Gha’al nodded.
“It is indeed....I am sorry”
“can you help me get out of jail?”
Hirohito asked him.
Gha’al nodded once more.
“I can help you break out of here, with a spell called [Lesser-teleportation].”
“Do it.”
Hirohito said, a grin slowly forming on his face, prison was not where he belonged. Those mega-corps dogs better prepare themselves, he is coming.
“Of course, it’ll be my pleasure.”
The demon said, before waving his hand and a blue light surrounded Hirohito, lifting him lightly off the ground, it felt as if he was a feather and then both of them alongside the item were gone.
