It isn't until they deal with the two mutated black dogs chasing them that the minibus is finally safe. Everyone on the minibus slumps in their seats, exhausted from the intense battle. It is particularly dangerous when the wild dogs catch up, and if it weren't for the three of them firing frantically, the dogs might have jumped onto the minibus. Despite their efforts, the back of the minibus is torn apart, leaving it even more dilapidated.

  The minibus drives into the countryside, where only a few zombies wander by the roadside, posing no threat to the vehicle. Oliver runs over any zombies that get in the way.

  As the minibus approaches the town, Oliver stops the vehicle and says, "Up ahead is the town. The terrain here is open, and we're some distance from any human settlements. As long as we're careful, we should be fine." Victoria checks the surroundings and decides this is a good place to stop.

  The only ones in the group with any fighting capability are Victoria, James, Liam, and Oliver. Victoria says, "We've been without food for three days. The town ahead is our only hope. Liam, since you're injured, you stay and guard the minibus. The rest of us will go into town to find food."

  James and Liam agree, but Oliver is concerned about leaving Liam alone to guard the minibus. Victoria decides that James should stay behind while she and Oliver go to find food.

  James says, "Victoria, you should stay. There are a lot of zombies in the town, and you haven't eaten for three days. You might not have the strength to fight them off." Victoria argues, "But James, you haven't eaten for three days either..." James confidently replies, "Don't worry, during my military training, I could go three days without food or water and still be strong."

  Oliver also doesn't want Victoria to take the risk. He says, "Don't worry, we'll find food." He jokes, "Just have the pot ready with boiling water, so we can cook the rice as soon as we get back."

  Victoria smiles and tries to give the automatic rifle to Oliver, but he refuses, saying, "I have my handgun, which will be enough. You keep the rifle to provide cover for the minibus."

  Actually, Oliver has several packets of instant noodles in his spatial storage, but he can't reveal this secret to anyone. Plus, the noodles have a production date of 2024, which would be too suspicious. Oliver plans to find an opportunity to tear off the packaging before sharing them.

  Without a vehicle, Oliver and James walk towards the town. Oliver says, "If we had a motorcycle, our chances of success would be much higher." James replies seriously, "This world has been at a standstill for over three years. Most vehicles would be out of commission by now. Finding a working motorcycle would be nearly impossible."

  The outskirts of the town have scattered houses and wandering zombies. They avoid the zombies, making their progress slow.

  Oliver says, "Let's see if we can find a vehicle, maybe check out the town's repair shop." James worriedly replies, "The zombies won't give us much time."

  They reach the town's entrance and find it swarming with zombies, making it impassable.

  Oliver and James go around this entrance.. Oliver says, "Yesterday, I drew most of the zombies to this entrance, so there should be fewer in other areas." James says, "Zombies have keen senses of smell and hearing. We only have about five minutes to get into town before they notice us."

  They reach the other side of the town, and Oliver uses his watch to pull up a map. He decides to go to the residential building to look for food.

  James is concerned about the number of zombies that might be inside, but Oliver says, "Yesterday, I saw that the town's supermarket had been cleared out. I think going to the residential building will be safer."

  James agrees, saying, "Okay, just be quick. I can only hold off the zombies for five or six minutes."

  Oliver makes an “OK” gesture, and James rushes out to draw the zombies away. Oliver then runs towards the residential building.
