5. The Tide of the Undead [I]

Ryan had always disliked this greasily guy. Before the apocalypse, this guy always relied on his connections in the unit to order him around as a newcomer. Secondly, he had once pursued Yasmin and repeatedly used his position to make things difficult for him.

Now, he had even switched to being a minion of Wallace, and continued to act arrogantly and domineeringly, even trying to occupy his bed. Although the bed was small, Ryan couldn't tolerate this tone of humiliation.

"You lunatic, you broke my hand...!" Lucas's wrist was only dislocated but he squatted on the ground screaming like a pig being slaughtered.

His screams quickly attracted a lot of people's attention and soon a large number of people rushed over.

The first person to come over was Yasmin. The lady looked at Lucas, who was slumped on the ground and howling like a ghost, and became anxious, "Ryan, how can you be so mean? How can you bully your colleagues?"

"I didn't bully him." Ryan withdrew his hand indifferently and shrugged, "I just wanted to get him off my bed."

Although the place would soon be littered with corpses and the bed would have lost its meaning of existence, Ryan had to take back what belonged to him.

"Even if that's the case, it doesn't mean you can go around breaking people's hands." Yasmin glanced at the swollen area on Lucas's wrist and said with dissatisfaction.

"Whatever!" Ryan stopped talking. He had long experienced the double standards of these people, especially Yasmin, who always regarded herself as a "motherly woman".

When she saw a cat or dog injured, she would cry for a long time. It was very difficult to reason with such a woman.

"Why are you silent since you came back?" Seeing Ryan silent, Yasmin became excited instead. She immediately walked up to Ryan and questioned, "I know it must be because Wallace didn't bother to save you during the operation yesterday, so you hold a grudge against him. But that was in the past, how can you be so petty and take it out on your companions?"

"...." Ryan was speechless. He looked at Yasmin's aggressive face and shook his head indifferently. He was too lazy to argue with her and looked away again. "I don't want to argue with you, please leave me alone."

"Hey..." This time Yasmin was indeed a little annoyed. She shook her head lightly and wanted to say something else, but she heard footsteps on the stairs. Turning around, she found that it was Wallace who heard the quarrel downstairs and returned with a few of his minions.

These people immediately surrounded Ryan, and some of them were even ready to fight, obviously extremely dissatisfied with Ryan's actions.

Wallace didn't say anything, but just glanced at the place where Lucas's wrist was dislocated, and was slightly startled. Then he said to Ryan with a smile, "Ryan, why are you so angry? We are all in the same boat. If you have any disagreement with anyone here, why don't you talk to them in person. Why do you have to take your anger out on Lucas?"

On the surface, this guy seemed to be trying to stop the conflict, but his tone was full of threats. Anyone with a discerning eye could tell that he was trying to use Ryan to establish his authority.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Long before he became a deviant, Wallace had always regarded himself as a boss. This time, it was he who took the initiative to arrange for Lucas to occupy Ryan's bed.

It would have been fine if Ryan had disobeyed the arrangements, but he actually taught Lucas a lesson in public. Wasn't this tantamount to slapping him in the face?

Thinking of this, Wallace's face darkened slightly, but Ryan didn't care. He shook his head and said, "I didn't take revenge on anyone in private. It's just that he was like a dog who barked too loudly. I was tired of it, so I shut him up."

He called Lucas a piece of shit to his face, but in fact he was also mocking Wallace for forming cliques. Wallace naturally understood what he said, and immediately narrowed his eyes and his expression became unfriendly.

What happened today? Ryan, who had always been submissive and never fought back when bullied, actually dared to contradict him in front of so many people. Could he be so bold and stupid?

Wallace's face gradually turned dark, and he almost couldn't maintain the composure he had maintained for many years. He was about to give this ignorant guy a beating.

"Forget it, Wallace. Ryan is just in a bad mood. Give him some time to adjust. I believe he will understand his mistake and apologize to Lucas on his own initiative. Don't worry about it." Yasmin saw that the situation was not right. Although she was annoyed by Ryan's actions, she did not want to make things worse, so she quickly stood up and voiced.

"Well, since you said so, I will give him another chance." Facing the beauty's request, Wallace was not in a position to refuse. He continued to put on his well-dressed posture and adjusted his shirt in a magnanimous manner. "How about this, as long as he admit his own shortcomings and apologize to Lucas, we can forget about this matter."

You want me to admit to my errors? Ryan admired their performance, but he sneered in his heart.

Seeing that Ryan hadn't said anything, Yasmin became anxious and quickly advised him, "Ryan, why don't you apologize? Do you have to make things so difficult? Actually, this matter..."

"I don't think I did anything wrong. On the contrary, why did you allow Lucas to occupy my place while I was away?" Without waiting for Yasmin to finish, Ryan shook his head coldly, fixed his eyes on Wallace's hypocritical face, and said. "What gives you the right to decide the ownership of my place?"

When these words were spoken, almost everyone was stunned. Yasmin widened her eyes and looked at Ryan in disbelief.

What happened to this guy today? He actually dared to give Wallace a cold shoulder in person. Did he not know that in this gathering point, Wallace’s words represent everything?

Wallace also became a little confused, as if he had not yet adapted to Ryan's change of attitude. Instead, he didn't know what to do. After being stunned for a long time, he cleared his throat and said in a very low voice, "Are you dissatisfied with it?"

"As a matter of fact, yes, I do." Since they had decided to break up, Ryan simply stopped tolerating it. He had planned to expose Wallace's actions in public and tell them the truth about his sudden disappearance. But it seemed that there was not enough time.

Just as everyone was arguing and the atmosphere was tense, a layer of white mist floated in the night outside the warehouse.

The hazy fog emerged from nowhere, as if a ghost had opened its arms, slowly stretching from far away to near, until it covered the night sky outside the ventilation window.

  [The undead are here]

Ryan's heart moved in fright, and he immediately stopped talking. He narrowed his eyes and looked at the thick fog outside the ventilation window. His eyes became very gloomy in an instant.

  Here it was...

Since the end of the world, the city had been shrouded in this strange fog almost every night.

Generally speaking, the thicker the fog, the greater the probability of a group of zombies appearing.

The white fog that appeared outside the ventilation window at this time was obviously thicker than before, almost forming a substantial white net that completely enveloped the entire building.

At the same time, a strange beeping sound came from the evolution system in Ryan's body, as if reminding and warning him.

It seemed that the information provided by the supreme evolution system was very accurate. With such thick fog, the probability of a zombie wave appearing was obviously much greater than usual. His first survival trial was about to begin.

Feeling the warning from the evolution system in his mind, Ryan's eyes immediately narrowed in sharpness.
