AFTERMATH
Even though Unicus is experiencing a breakdown. Vanilla and Mellona's fierce battle is still raging on in the meantime. They are both aiming for each other’s necks but one is compelled to do so, while the other is forced into it.
Mellona is dancing through both the ground and the air, as she rapidly tucked down.
“Wow~ never knew you were this good. I’m trying hard here~”
Vanilla’s sword arcs across the air as the force is carried over to the downward strike.
Mellona, she rolls to the side evading just in time. She changes the dagger to reverse grip and charges forward.
Vanilla uses her sword as the shield and sparks fly as the blades make contact.
“This time. I’ll give it my all!!!!!” shouts Vanilla as she pushes Mellona back.
Feeling the pressure, Mellona uses a longer chant to unleash more destruction.
“Winds that race across the boundless sky, heed my command! Lend me your speed, your untamed might—carry me beyond reach, beyond sight! Let each step be as lightning, each strike as the storm’s own wrath—Gale Strike!”
Her magic is active for a few seconds, Mellona is dancing across the battlefield. Her moves are striking Vanilla hard – with her having a hard time keeping up.

For the first time since the start of the battle, Blood starts gushing forth from all sorts of places. Vanilla, feeling the weight of the injuries, smiles. Her aqua eyes shine with determination.
“I Acknowledge your speed Mellona. But …. Don’t forget the fact I’m a healer first and warrior second!!”
“By light and thread, flesh restore, Seal the cut, let pain be no more. Golden rays, so warm and bright, Mend this wound, dispel the blight.
With gentle touch, let fibers weave, Close the breach, let spirits breathe. From the warmth of dawn and the silver glow, Let life’s pure river freely flow.
By will and word, let healing rise, No scar remains beneath the skies - Fast Healing!”
Vanilla was wrapped in a warm greenish glow as the area above the injuries vapourised to leave it perfectly healed, leaving no trace of injury.
Mellona, she clicked her tongue. “Shit. My magic essence is decreasing by the minute.”
Vanilla counters back, “So am I~ Let's finish it fast. Mine won’t last longer either.”
“O silent force that binds the stars, Let weight wane and burden bow. Rise, fall—Gravitas Shift!” Vanilla starts stacking the rune magic and its glow gets slightly brighter.
“Winds that race across the boundless sky, heed my command! Lend me your speed, your untamed might—carry me beyond reach, beyond sight! Let each step be as lightning, each strike as the storm’s own wrath—Gale Strike!”
Mellona charges in for a final attack. Her momentum increases with magic as the dagger is raised towards the sky…
This is getting ridiculous~ Just how long are we fighting for? Time is literally slipping from my hands. I'll finish this duel with this final strike.
But at that moment, Vanilla redirects the blow – neutralising it. She drops the sword and strikes Mellona down with her palms, plunging straight to her heart, pushing her away.
Mellona with her footing cut short midway rolls around, hits a nearby tree hard and recoils in pain. “Ahh … ouch~ it hurts….”, She coughed out a ball of blood.
Vanilla is still standing, with heavy breathing she is checking around and turns her gaze towards Mellona writhing on the floor. “Did I just win?”
Mellona between her pained gasps, answers “I admit defeat~ … I can’t handle anymore of this~”

After the duel, Vanilla heals Mellona and they both walk towards Unicus talking.
“You know I was a bit taken aback. I wasn't expecting you to slam me to the ground~”
“In the heat of the moment I did that… tell me! Does it hurt anywhere?”
“No no no …” She was casually smiling but then her eyes noticed Unicus was laying on the ground. “Hey umm, Vanilla~”
“Yes Mellona.”
“Why is Unicus laying on the floor like that? …”
“I don't know…” they both run towards him nodding. After reaching him, “Mellona, you hold him. I'll cast a healing spell.”
"By light and thread, flesh restored, … Seal the cut, let pain be no more." A faint greenish glow surrounds his body, but since he didn't have any injury, nothing happens.
But he doesn't wake up. “Mellona, will he be alright?” she seems to be panicking.
Mellona reassured her, “All we can do is wait. Who knows he might just wake up~ Let's get him home fast”
