A crescent moon hangs in a cloudless sky, and a warehouse stands beneath. Its shell is made of rusted tin. Its main door has been sealed by years of neglect and growing rust. Broken police tape that once formed a perimeter flutters in the October wind. A young man named Alex approaches the decrepit structure, his hood raised, protecting him from the chill air.
A side door he had not yet noticed swings open, wielded by his friend Philip, who invites Alex in. Inside he is greeted by his remaining friends. John embraces him, telling him he was starting to worry, and then he asks why he is so late. Alex tells him he had cut his arm passing through the fence, and he needed to hike back to retrieve his first aid kit from his car. John's girlfriend Janet comments that the bandaging is poorly done and that he should redo it.
Alex accepts the criticism and tells them both he will later. Alex then notices the many dark stains on the floor and walls. He asks John if he knows what they may be. A puzzled look appears on John's face, and he asks if Alex remembers the mass murder back in March. Zack chimes in, slurring his words. He says six people were killed here, but Kimber reminds him it was seven, because the killer ended his own life, supposedly in an occult ritual.
Alex asks if they heard if the killer's motive was discovered, but the group had not. His friend Kimber steps forward, saying she may have a way of finding out. She reveals from her bag a Ouija board she had stolen from her father's office. With this, they may be able to contact one of the victims or the killer himself.
Alex clutched the inside of his pocket at the sight of the board. He protests using it, but the group mocks him and says not to worry. Skylar eases him by saying it will be all right, and then Janet tells him it's nothing but a game, but Alex still refuses to join. Kimber instructs the group to lay their hands on the board, and as their hands fall upon it, a tear in space appears behind them.
Alex is the first to notice but stands there motionless, petrified by fear. John sees his terrified expression is being directed behind him, and as John turns his head, he witnesses something exiting the portal.
Its eyes are hollow yet piercing, with a crustacean-like mouth and melted skin that looks as if it could slide off. Its body was wrapped in sullied black robes with tendrils bellowing out, seeking any exit from the fabric. The creature began floating inches from the floor towards the unsuspecting group.

John let loose a scream no one would have ever expected to hear from him. As the group turned to face the unknown, most froze in place. However, Paul began to laugh. Accusing their friend R.J., who is a prodigy of engineering and code, of creating an elaborate prank using a projector.
R.J., denying the accusation, began to creep further away from the creature. The fool, not believing him and confident that it is a projection, approaches the creature. The creature flicks its hand, and an unseen force breaks his neck, twisting it so the group can see his eyes cloud.
As his body hits the floor, the group erupts into a panic. Janet lets out a high-pitched squeal as John comes to his senses and rushes in front of her. Skylar holds onto Kimber, burying her head into her, while Kimber stares in awe. Philip scrambles trying to find an exit; however, each one is blocked by the same force that killed Paul. R.J. is still backing away slowly as if the creature is a simple beast ready to pounce at any sudden movement, while Zack searches for his lighter so he can have one last smoke.
Alex, realizing what they are facing, comes to his senses. This creature they are facing is in fact a demon. Whether they summoned it or if it was the product of the killer's ritual, it did not matter. Only one thing came to mind.
Alex pulls from his pocket a strange crucifix and begins marching forward, crucifix raised, hoping to force the demon back into the portal. As the crucifix comes into the demon's view, it flinches away snarling, but it flicks its hand, sending Alex behind him through the portal, closing it, and with the one threat gone, the demon begins laughing, and then it speaks.
"Now then, mortals! Who shall…." Suddenly a new, larger portal opens behind the demon, but this one is different. It is not a tear in space like the last; it is solid and rectangular in shape like a doorframe, and stepping through is a figure clad in intimidating yet elegant armor save its left arm, which is bare and covered in runes, and above its left shoulder a bar of light branches away.
The demon turns, its hollow eyes widen in fear, then narrow. "How?!!… How could this be?!!
