The Fool Pathway's Sequence 6 Faceless,
Alone, a Faceless' ability is change their whole appearance, which is not just limited to their face but also to their whole body, gaining not only a different appearance but it also represents a new identity, and it's more deeper than that.
Not only can a Faceless create a whole new persona but it can also leave itself as it's own mark of identity in the Spirit World.
Where people or things have their own fate and connection to the spirit world, so does identities have their ties to the spirit world.
It's like the philosophical idea of the Theseus Ship, is it still itself after being slowly repces and when does it stop?
First of all, a name represents an identity but it's not the only identity a person had. Second, a name is given for a reason which is why soup is not soup anymore if it's not water boiled with organic substance.
This is why since the Theseus Ship is named, by what I assume is by the creator's design, then the Theseus Ship is still a Theseus Ship if the parts repced are designed the very same way. As for the identity of being original, it now has the identity of being repced.
If people think an identity is not multi-faceted then it's wrong, and I believe that there are identities that can be changed and ones that don't
And the Faceless agrees with me too...
You can change your name and change your mind and leave everything behind but people will know...
Your identity also grows with who you meet, plus... people wear different masks to different people, look at Zhou Mingrui.
And yet despite all that, those different masks and all represent Zhou Mingrui, and despite all the changes in donning Klein Moretti's identity and his other personas, he's still himself, the 'I' that is beyond merely the Zhou Mingrui that his people know and more than whatever identity he's known to be in his either personas.
Lastly, while he is not his persona, just like he is not the original Klein Moretti, he still holds the identity of one who dons such a persona. If I were to compare this, then it's the principle of Acting Methods, you are only merely acting to digest the potions. You may derive principles and methods but you must not totally be them.
Not a lot of fanfiction writer get that, losing control my making whatever weird fiction they have over Gehrman Sparrow and Klein Moretti...
The 'I' is the identity that is me and my name is the identity that is added onto me. The me you see is the 'I' and name I give you, and you make the identity that is me, and that is the multifaceted me, a completely complex character.
This is driving me mad...
Anyway in context, a Faceless gains control over his body, allowing him to change his appearance at will. But identity is something that takes much more preparation as it needs a build of new persona, this persona holding not only personality but also connections, background, and recognition.
This is another kind of fooling, because the ability only allows the change of appearance but the donning of a new entire persona requires the orchestration and forging of the Faceless to make it believable and fool people.
There is no other ability there to a Faceless because this power allows you to be anyone and even take other people's identities, which is part of the reversed acting that I wish to talk about in another chapter.
Concerning the Faceless themselves, they need to create personas, which is simple enough because this leaves a mark in the spirit world with their new identity, which is a kind of significant fooling in itself.
Imagine if a Seer were to divine a Faceless in their new identity? They would be fooled instantly and won't be able to tell that they're another person because a Faceless would have seamlessly taken that identity, cutting it's connection to their original identity.
For a Faceless, they can change whatever secrets they hold, and make multiple yers of identities for themselves, hiding secrets within secrets and making changes within changes.
If we rete this to Seer, it can be easily inferred that fate has been greatly changed by the change of identity already, which extends to influence everything around it. If anyone were to divine the persona it wouldn't be a matter of anti-divination anymore but would just be fooling through bare divination.
When there are fates for every person, a creation or taking of a new identity spells great changes for fates intertwined with that identity. If you've known fate as well as I do then you'd know how a mere encounter with people if fate, which is basically what every Chinese cultivator would say.
Moving on...
If we rete this to Clown, the malleability of an identity is so great that if possible, would be able to allow a Faceless to fit in any society, and thereby orchestrate changes and elicit reaction from people from there. From a mere Clown with a set audience, you've become a Faceless that can perform any act on any stage to any audience. It's yours to choose.
This is also why a Faceless can also remember so many face, not only is it to don any appearance but it's also to establish a Faceless' audience, after all. Not merely just keeping a smile to an audience but also to ugh, to cry, to be angry, at the right times, and to the right people. And that makes them truly enigmatic.
And reting to a Magician, the act of making a persona and leaving a mark in the Spirit World is like it's own true magic in itself, the practice of your persona and preparation for everything is all a Magician long arduous act for the big surprise, not to perform magic in front of people but to fool society and reality, albeit only in persona. Maybe it's grander than I described or much less than I exaggerate it to be but to that world, it's what matters, and what leaves a mark that would make significant changes.
This is also why a Faceless has such growth in spirituality and in abilities, because everything is actually directed and connected to the Spirit World.
As for the Fourth domain, it would be Self Identity.
In Control and Orchestration: Self Identity, Spiritual Tampering, Self Secretism, and Fate Prying.
And the principles,
1. Make your mark on fate and in the spirit world by discerning your self identity.
2. Influence others, identities like you, by creating persona/s of yourself that is sure to affect them.
