"I don't understand whether or not this is a good idea," Phocles did his best to remain positive even as Wilona finished the explanation for her plans on what the Bog should become. "Peat isn't a stable ground to build on, I fear that any floor you make on top of it will just collapse."
"That? That doesn't matter, I'll just grow some plants underneath to make it more stable." Kind of. She didn't want to do it but she had to, the original plan is to make Fuzz take over the entire bog since she can stabilize the ground and break things down but she said she couldn't grow on acidic soil so that was a bust.
"Well... If you say that it's fine then it must be but aren't there other concerns we should consider when making something so large-scale? I know that the undead will be mainly manning the area but I fear that won't reassure the citizens any more than seeing a school for necromancy get built on the outskirts of town."
"Oh yeah, I totally get that." Wilona nodded, "but that's why we plan on making it into an amusement park since like, it makes people more willing to be with the undead! We'll advertise it as a place to go to and that it's super fun or whatever, everything else will just fall into place!"
"And you're confident that such a plan will work?"
"100%." Wilona nodded with confidence, she didn't just know it would work, the amusement park WOULD work. "Trust me, people will get used to the thrill and then they'll start talking about it, it makes sense doesn't it?"
"I suppose it does..." murmured Phocles, he still sounded uncertain though.
"Phocles, look. It won't harm the town! I'm just asking for a few workers to man the places that need talking or maybe the ones that need more than just physical force to function, like the controls or maybe the receptionist area of like, the entrance. And that's it! They'll get paid and the undead will be the ones risking their lives to keep the rides functional!"
"And have you done this before?" Phocles breathed in deeply, it was a weird idea and he would have assumed one that is original if not for the fact that Wilona is quite familiar with the concept. If she says that she has, then he has no reason to fear anything at all.
"Eh, kind of?" Wilona made a so-so gesture, she'd done something similar in the past for hamsters if that counted. "But if you're worried about previous results then let me tell you, I know that people will only get worried the first time around but over time? They'll warm up to it. Especially if no deaths happen!"
Rottie also suggested they make it so that the park as a whole is a "test of courage" and advertise it as something that screams "only the strong will come out alive!" and afterwards create actually dangerous rides that can kill people with rewards in the end but none of that needed to be mentioned to Phocles right now.
"I'm not worried about the people," oh, good. Wilona nodded eagerly. "I know that dungeons are meant to risk the lives of those that come into their domain, I'm worried about the town. Who will want to move in such a place?"

"A lot of people want to move into tourist spots. Don't worry about it." Wilona gave the old man a thumbs up, "like, nobles and merchants will be coming here in droves in no time!"
"You're confident in this? Even with all the undead?"
"ESPECIALLY with all the undead." Wilona emphasized, she leaned in and lowered her tone like she was scared that someone might be eavesdropping. "This is our secret but I'll tell you now that we will be planning to make a bunch of attractions meant to make the undead look less harmful and more appealing. It's gonna be great!"
"And how will you do that, exactly?"
"It's simple; if the undead don't kill people and are instead seen as useful, then no one is going to think that they're dangerous!"
"A rather simple solution, don't you think? I'm sure that people will be biased towards them regardless of that fact." Phocles argued.
"Not if we paint them in a good light and make them look appealing. People are scared of them because they're rotting corpses, and if we want our busine- I mean, the town to prosper then we're gonna have to make them think that the undead are actually fine and that they're not dangerous at all!" Wilona snapped her fingers, "after that, I'm sure a lot of towns and villages will want to buy undead from Lower Reedham, bettering our economy!"
"I... I'll try to do it." Phocles relented, he rubbed his forehead and chuckled. "But I'm too old for this, maybe when my sons come you can talk to them about it."
"I'll do that yep!" Wilona agreed. Well, if the old man didn't want to do it, then why not? It's not like she could just force the entire town to do what she wanted.
"Anyway, I think I'll take my leave now. I just wanted to let you know about what I wanted to do." Wilona headed for the door, "see ya!"
"Goodbye, thank you for informing me of this, Miss Wilona."
"Yeah, yeah. Goodbye." Wilona headed out the door and took to the skies before a cycle of goodbyes could form.
Her next destination was the Castorimorphians, who had all the materials and skills she needed to make her plan work. See, she wanted to make a viable structure on top of peat, and just like what Phocles said, peat is quite loose.
So loose in fact that any solid foundation would make it collapse. And this is before all the buildings get added. So what's her solution? First off, she's going to grow plants below the peat just like she said, solidifying the ground and creating a decent land for things to be built on. And to make sure that the weight of the amusement park doesn't strain the brittle landscape, she's gonna design it like a raft that spans several hundred meters.
Or something. She's not an architect and that's why she needed to talk to the Castorimorphians about this sort of stuff, they're the experts when it comes to building stuff here.
Wilona found herself dropping on top of a bridge and from there, she made her way towards Brixa's burrow lodge. The tinker was doing something in her shop when Wilona knocked and from what's on the table, it seemed to be some kind of net. That or she was continuing on crafting the prototype for the boat she was making.
"You working on your boat?" Wilona asked as she entered.
"Water vehicle. And this is not the way to greet someone when you enter their house," Brixa shook her head, "but I can forgive something like that, what do you want?"
"Can you design something for me?"
"That's what I do, yes. What kind of 'design' you want me to make?" Brixa looked at her with strange eyes, wait, was Brixa thinking she was gonna ask for like a bomb or something? "I'm assuming it's nothing dangerous? Your tense silence is telling me that it's the opposite."
"It's nothing dangerous!" Wilona quickly corrected, she shook her head, "who do you think I am?"
"The witch living next door with an Ent and a Myceloid. Fascinating coven, really." Brixa laughed while shaking her head, "anyway, what do you want me to make?"
"Yeah, I'm gonna ignore everything you just said." Wilona dropped, "I was thinking that maybe you can make something for me that's like, capable of holding an entire amusement park above a bog..?"
"What?" Brixa's playful demeanor died and she looked like she was frowning, beavers could frown. Wilona had seen everything. "What is an amusement park?"
"It's a place where everyone can have fun — but that's not really important. I want to ask you if you can design something that can act as a foundation to allow something to be built on top of a bog. You can, right? Please tell me you can."
"I can do that, yes."
Wilona sighed in relief, "oh thank fuck. I want something that can go up to several hundred meters okay? I'll talk to Borrzon about the materials, you can talk to him about it later — I need to go! Bye!"
Brixa stared at the departing witch, a headache slowly building on the sides of her skull. What is going on?
