Smooth jazz, nice and slow vocals, classy drinks brought to a myriad of tables. The Roulette Cassino was your no ordinary plebeians gambling facility. No bright and flashy lights, no loud and annoying sounds, no sporadic hobos. Ah, truly the best casino to gamble and work at. The thing that made it so special from any other prestigious Casino was the giant roulette wheel the casino was housed in. Three large, open floors surrounded the wheel. At the top, in the turret, sat the most elite individuals of society—ideoplanet governors.
Outside the glass dome the surface of Tyche would pass over it as the roulette did its ambient slow spin. The surface was dark gray and murky with green clouds filling its atmosphere and around it spun dark brown and pinkish-purple colored rocks. Despite also being the casino’s property, it acted as a stark contrast to the wheel.
The lights slowly dimmed as the waiter served glasses of fine wine to the guests. It's time. Faces, plastered with awe, smacked against the center glass into the center of the wheel. On every other window, holographic screens appeared and revealed the street bet: Tyche for La Verde with 18, 26, and 24 as the winning numbers. Gasps of confusion and horror erupted from the audience.
“Who the hell would want Tyche?” a man cried out.
Others fell to their knees in prayer “Please, don’t lose La Verde.”
While the Casino’s investors bit their nails.
The waiter could only manage a slight smirk as the wailing grew louder and louder. 8% chance that the Casino loses Tyche. The waiter knew the percentage by memory.

The lights finally dimmed while a rumbling began throughout the wheel. The ball is spinning in its chamber. The slightest woosh could be heard from the tables as they raised themselves to lose contact with the vibrating inner shell of the wheel.
As the rumbling got louder and louder and more intense, the waiter couldn’t help but grin in joy. Every time he recounted to himself. The wheel began to spin slowly, turning the whole Casino with it. The acceleration was specifically calculated to not interfere with the guests inside.
Finally, Tyche would come into sight of the glass dome and leave rapidly over and over again. The ball launched out and swirled around the outside of the roulette wheel, right up against the glass. Over it was a holographic map of the two planets that it would phase between. Tears fell from both the few Tyche residents on the wheel and the many La Verde guests. The center began to slow down: The ball began to slow down. They clashed in the middle and the result was decided. Screams of shock and awe and disappointment and relief echoed through the air. The number 19 was displayed on the holographic screens. What a tragic end to such a lush, gorgeous planet.
Hours had passed since then. It was time for the once a week 4 hours of closing to deal with restocking and cleaning large messes. The waiter sat in one of the cushioned dining chairs looking at the center of the wheel. What a foolish, cruel, and greedy thing to do. Yet, I still wish I could sit in the turret and play god.
