Chapter 7: Wild Teens!

As the day went by, Harper sat watching Jester the frog through the drone’s monitor. He knew Jester was safe for the time being. As he decided to take a break, unknown to Harper at least three teens were moving into the area. Three young boys – Jeff Getty, a red-head; Godfrey Kaali a local indigenous Aborigine; and Harry Murphy a dark-haired teenager.

“Hey, look there’s a pound we can catch some frogs,” said Jeff.

Godfrey could see the crocodiles; they were going to be in their path for sure.

“How are we going to get rid of the crocs?” asked Godfrey.

Harry gazed upon the crocodiles; he wasn’t afraid of them at all.

“I know, we can throw rocks at them,” said Harry.

Neither teen paid attention to the drone that was hovering over the pond. As the three teens tossed rocks at the crocodiles, the crocodiles eventually had no choice but to leave. This left poor Jester vulnerable to the three teens. It was one thing for the frog to escape predators – escaping unfriendly humans were another thing. The drone’s sensor system soon picked up their movement and Harper immediately came towards the monitor much to his shock.

“Jo, look, there are three teens heading towards the pond where Jester is!” gasped Harper.

Jo shook his head, he certainly knew where this was going.

“Maybe they won’t harm your frog” sighed Jo.

“Oh, come on, you know how teenagers can be these days especially with diving for frogs at the local ponds” added Harper.

Harper knew he couldn’t intervene to try to save Jester’s life. All he could do was pray, pray for Jester’s safety. So that’s what Harper had no choice, he soon got on his knees and prayed up to the ceiling. Jo rolled his eyes unsure what Harper was doing.

“He isn’t going to defend your frog” sighed Jo.

“I have to try, anything” said Harper, “please Lord, please, I have watched over Jester. I hope you can ensure he’ll be safe.”

However, all of this seemed to backfire, Harper gazed upon the monitor, and he noticed the three teens were in the pond collecting other frogs aside from preparing to go after Jester.

  “No, NO!” cried Harper.

Jo attempted to try to help his friend as best as he could.

“Harper, listen to me, listen” said Jo, “Jester is likely going to be one of the teens’ pets.”

“I hope that’s the case and not something more harmful towards him,” said Harper.

Harper nearly collapsed after seeing his frog being scooped up by Jeff.

“I got a frog!” laughed Jeff.

Jeff showed Jester as if he were a prize he caught in a dungeon video game. Jester couldn’t believe what was happening to him. He was placed in a bag with a few other frogs. The frogs desperately croaked as best as they could. The three teens soon took the bag of frogs and soon headed off.

“So, how are we going to distribute our frogs?” asked Jeff.

“Don’t know” said Godfrey, “my parents say we can use their basement to distribute our loot.”

Jester soon found himself clumped together with the other frogs – about at least a dozen or so frogs were with him. Poor Jester knew he would find himself in an entirely different environment altogether.
