Rays of light filtered through the gaps in the wooden shutters of my room as morning came. As I arose from my slumber I stumbled my way out of bed onto a tiny sink. There, in prayer to the All-Mother, I put my hands together and started to chant.
'Spring of life, heed my call and rise thine tide, bless me with the gift of the eternal fountain.' As I part my hands, a puddle of clean water forms between them which I promptly use to wash my face. I never get tired of the soothing sensation. Although, whenever I am in a rush, I tend to forget this whole process and grandma berates me for looking like a mess.

Speaking of which, I make sure to check in on her to find her lightly snoring in bed, seems that I've beaten her to it today. Just a couple years back I'd always wake up to the sight of her already hard at work but I seem to have gotten used to waking up early to work the fields.
As I finish getting ready, I pick up a couple of slices of bread with jam, making an impromptu breakfast to eat on my way to the garden.
Stepping outside, the Great Star showers me with His light, blinding me for a few seconds as my eyes adjust. (WIP)
