Alex felt the sun on her face and the breeze on her cheek as she slowly opened her eyes. She found herself in a field of grass surrounded by trees, the light seeping in through the branches. She looked around and found herself alone, with no animals or creatures or people around. She stood up as she began to walk aimlessly in any direction with no recollection of where she was or how she had gotten there.
She knew her name though and perhaps that would be enough for now? She continued on her walk and eventually found some wild life. She walked past some sheep, some cows, some pigs, and a scattering of ducks. As she continued she eventually found a wild dog who ran off into the distance.
The grass was littered with all sorts of different flowers. The walk was mostly peaceful, but through the shadows of the tress Alex could've sworn she saw movement. Just out of the edges of her perception she heard sounds that didn't seem natural.
But whatever it was stayed away and so she walked until she came across a long winding river. She had no idea where the river would take her but inside she could see fishes swimming around. She almost thought to get in but as she took a step closer and looked at the deeper side of the river, she noticed eyes staring back at her from underneath the water.
She felt a chill in her bones and stepped away, best to be careful for now. So she sat in a small clearing between the river and the forest as she rexed for a bit. She had no food, so she would need to work something out. Although right now she didn't feel hungry and anyways the sun was starting to go down. As the sun began to set she noticed the animals all seemed to disappear, even the fish seemed to go into hiding. How strange.
Then she began to hear the sounds from earlier, but this time she could clearly make them out. Soft groaning coming out from the woods, movement in the shadows. She stood up feeling nervous as she noticed the eyes from the water also getting closer.
She looked around for some pce to hide but there was nothing, she was trapped. The sun crept lower on the horizon, shrouding the trees in darkness and then she saw them. Large spiders roaming around the trees, and skeletons with bows and arrows stalking the woods. One of the skeletons noticed her and notched an arrow, it let loose and the arrow nded next to Alex. Well at least they weren't the best at aiming it seemed.
Alex needed a way to defend herself, anything to help her survive the creatures of the forest. They had arrived with the departure of the sun, so maybe upon it's return they would all leave. Alex felt the sun finish setting behind her and she heard something come out of the water. She turned and her eyes went wide in shock.
From the water emerged what looked like person. Except their skin was blue like the sea, and their hair was green as seaweed. They moaned out as if in pain, their clothing all torn apart and they looked at her with cold undead eyes.
Alex decided to take her chances with the bad aiming skeletons and took off into the forest. Instantly a skeleton began to try and fire at her, she rushed at him though fear and desperation driving her movements.
She felt an arrow bite into her shoulder as she reached the undead creature and punched it as hard as she could muster. It jumped back and made a sound she assumed was it screaming. With the adrenaline pumping through her she began to pound away at the monster, beating it even as it fired more arrows into her. It quickly became apparent this would be a competition of who could st the longest.
Alex was not confident in her chances of survival so she was shocked when the skeleton suddenly broke apart. His bones now littering the ground, his bow and arrows at her feet. She picked up the weapons and then tried to pick up the bones, but they vanished with her touch. Strange, but she didn't have time to question it, she went to pull the arrows from her body but they too were gone.
Alex noticed her quiver had more arrows than what she had taken from the skeleton but again had no time to question it, for coming towards her was a new monster. A creature made of green flesh that moved quickly on four feet, though it stood upright like a person, it had no arms and did not seem like a person.
As it got closer Alex, notched her bow and fired and arrow. She hit the creature square in the chest and it began to hiss, rushing at her while shifting between green and grey. She fired another arrow and again hit it's chest. It jumped back for a second but continued towards her.
She notched a third arrow but the monster had gotten too close, the hissing got louder and suddenly the creature exploded. The explosion threw Alex backwards towards a tree and created a crater in the ground. Alex was panting, her body aching as she struggled to move back out towards the water.
There she saw several more of those blue creatures roaming around, she noticed one had a weapon in hand and instantly began to fire her arrows at it. It turned to face her but died before it could reach her, five arrows in it's chest and two in it's head.
Alex rushed over and picked up what appeared to be a trident. She held her weapon in hand as more of these blue creatures began to near her. She spent the rest of the night running around trying to keep away and stabbing at these creatures with her trident, she managed to kill seven of them throughout the night. Although upon her st kill the trident shattered in her hand.
Distraught she began to use her bow to maintain distance. As the sun rose back up over the horizon she used her st arrow. She felt the sun on her back as she faced the water, she heard the creatures in the forest recede back into shadows. The blue creatures stopped chasing her and began to make their way back towards the water, sinking down into the river depts where the light could barely reach.
Alex was left panting and in pain, her hunger now causing her body to ache even more. She still had her bow but no arrows. She made her way back to where the creature had exploded and saw the ground all caved. She noticed the explosion broke a nearby tree which was now floating in the air.
How bizarre, she had to investigate. She walked closer and as she did she noticed pieces of the ground disappearing as she walked near them, simir to the bones from st night. When she reached the base of the now floating tree she saw wood on the ground. The wood was not charred or burnt, but rather neatly stacked together in an almost usable form.
Alex walked closer and held her hand out, the wood disappearing like everything else she had touched. Or almost everything, she considered her weapons, they had saved her life and had not disappeared at her touch.
With her hand held out she thought back to the wood, wanting it now in her grasp. She felt something in that moment, something inside of her stirred. Like an energy she had not used before, or had even known about. She focused on that feeling, that sensation, urging it outwards, urging it forwards.
Suddenly there before her appeared a white box, made up of smaller boxes. She jumped backwards and the box moved with her, she turned and the boxed turned with her. She focused on the box and noticed some of the smaller boxes had stuff. She could see the bones from st night, the wood she had gathered and even the dirt she had passed along with a few other things. One of which was a map.
She willed the map into her hand and it complied, appearing in her hand as the boxes all disappeared. She opened the map and looked down. The map was mostly empty only showing the river and the woods heading south west. Interesting, she though that was where she had come from. Well for now the map was not the most important thing. She pced it in her back pocket and noticed she could not feel it, yet she could sense it on her person.
She focused again and brought out the white boxes, now focusing on another strange object. A strange brown box like object. She willed it into her hand and found it to be small and not very impressive. She pced it on the ground for now and it instantly grew into a rge brown cube like table with all sorts of strange details etched into it.
Alex looked onto the face of the table and saw all sorts of boxes with items in them and tabs on either side. She clicked on the tabs and the items in the boxes would change. She eventually decided to click on a random box to see what it would give her, instead it of an item though it gave her a list of ingredients she would need to feed it. She kept going until she found an option for wooden swords. She needed sticks though, she flew over to sticks and found the way to make it, she needed to change the wood first. She followed along the instructions and made herself a wooden sword that she strapped onto her hip.
This would be useful but she also needed shelter. So she moved away from the table and looked back at the floating tree. How bothersome that it just stayed there, floating, taunting her. More out of frustration than anything else, Alex punched the tree and instantly noticed the trunk shift in hues before quickly changing back.
Shocked Alex looked down at her hands to find they had no visible injury. She smiled as she formed both of her hands into fists and began to attack the tree with all her strength. Soon enough the trunk broke off and the wood disappeared, although now Alex could sense it had gone into her boxes. With a newfound determination she continued her work until the tree was all but gone.
She then took the wood to the table to transform them. Once she had enough she willed them into her hand. They appeared in her right hand, small like the table had first appeared. She looked around, the area was full of trees, except for where the explosion happened.
She put the wood into her pocket and again felt nothing but could sense them on her, and what a strange sensation it was. But for now she willed the dirt into her hand and walked towards the hole in the ground. She pced a small piece of dirt on the edge of the crater and the dirt grew in size, same as the table had done. She continued the process until all the ground was filled and next she pulled the wood back out.
Now she went ahead and made a small box home for herself, it wasn't much but it would provide shelter for the night. Hopefully.
She checked back at the table and found out how to make a door, she quickly made one and it manifested tiny in her hand. She pced it where she wanted it and the door grew in size, creating an entrance for her new home. She smiled but turned to the table, best not to leave it outside.
She walked over and tried to pick it up but it would not budge. She frowned and looked down at her hands. Could she? She wasn't sure but she had to try something. She punched the table and down it went, reduced back to it's miniature original state.
Alex smiled as she took it inside and pced it in a corner where it grew back in size. Yes she could work with this, now she needed food and a bed. She left her home and began to look around for food. All she had seen were animals, so it seemed now she would need to hunt.
She eventually stumbled upon a sheep and taking out her sword she stabbed at it. It screamed and ran forcing Alex to give chase, she stabbed it two more times before it fell over and dissipated. She had seen the blue creatures do a simir thing, they had dropped some meat when they fell that she dared not try to eat.
This sheep also dropped chunks of meat, and some white stuff as well. She picked it all up and headed back to the table. She looked around for what she could use the white stuff and found, to her excitement, a bed. She quickly formed the bed and pced it in the corner.
She then sat in her bed and ate the sheep meat. It wasn't very tasteful but it solved her hunger problem, now she could focus on studying the table and figuring out what to do next.
