Alex sat on the roof of her home admiring the view. She had fully constructed everything she needed. Her two story home was now fully lit up and had a nice view of the forest and river. What now? Alex mused over the possibilities as she noted how the river snaked away into the horizon.
Maybe that was next.
Alex began her work building a small dock and a boat, she gathered some supplies and headed off early in the morning. She could hear movements under the water, but she paid them no head. She pulled out her map and noted that the more she traveled the more the map revealed.
She traveled for about half a day until the river opened up wider and began to made it's way to the ocean. Before reaching it though Alex found herself standing still and looking on in awe. There at the edges of where the nd met the sea, was a vilge. A community. Could there be people?
Alex felt her heart racing at the possibilities. She quickly drove her boat to the vilge and hopped out. She walked around and found it was indeed poputed by people. Although none of them looked like her. Alex found she couldn't tell the men and women apart from one another. All of them were bald, with rather rge noses and made strange sounds as they moved about. It seemed like they were communicating with one another although Alex couldn't understand them.
But at least she wasn't the only person left on this crazy and bizarre world. There were others! Although somehow Alex found herself feeling more alone than ever. Why couldn't she understand them? Why was she different?
As she walked around the town she found strange creatures roaming around. Iron Golems, it seems. The creatures stood twice as tall as Alex and moved slowly, their arms going down to their knees.
Alex noticed one of them gently pick a flower and present it to a vilger. Seems these creatures got along well with the vilgers. That was good, though Alex noticed the general ck of light in the vilge. There was no doubt in her mind, tonight they would find themselves surrounded by monsters.
Alex was determined to help though, and so she began her work of lighting up the vilge and creating a fence around the perimeter of the vilge. The vilge was rather sparse though and night fell before she could finish.
Alex put on her iron armor and took out her bow, ready to fight as the vilgers all scrambled off into their homes. Soon enough the sun disappeared and the monster's came out but Alex was ready for them.
From a distance she would shoot out at them, constantly moving to avoid the Skeleton's arrows. Eventually though she found something new, which seemed to be all to common strangely enough. A Skeleton was riding a Spider, which climbed over the fence and rushed towards Alex.
Alex drew her bow ready to fire when an Iron Golem moved in and smacked the monster, forcing them back. Alex smiled thankful to finally have something on her side as she fired her arrow. Between her and the Iron Golem they were able to easily defeat the monster, killing both Spider and Skeleton.
But now came the Zombies, and these one's wore armor. How strange, Alex had never seen a Zombie wear armor before. Well no matter, she fired her arrow but that seemed to agitate the Zombie who began to move in. The Iron Golem once more stepped in but Alex found herself busy firing at the several more Zombie's rushing the unfinished fence. Some had armor, some did not.
Finally running out of arrows, Alex drew her shield and iron sword and charged the Zombies. She had learned the best way to fight was to ssh them and quickly back away, not staying engaged long enough for them to counter her. But as more and more began to swarm she found herself backing towards the vilge.
She managed to kill three, with sshes here and there and the Iron Golem killed the first Zombie with a golden helmet. Alex heard grunting suddenly and looked to the side to see the the other three Iron Golems joining in the fray.
Ok, things could be worse at least. Four Zombies dead was not a bad start after all. Alex broke away from the Zombies and climbed up a small hill to get a better view. Looks like there are still about 16 Zombies left. More importantly though, one of them had all golden armor and a golden sword. Alex decided it was best to focus on that one and so rushed down to face it.
The Zombie also immediately took an interest in her and charged at her. She managed to block it's attack with her shield and stabbed the Zombie with her sword. The Zombie jumped back and another took it's pce.
Alex quickly hit the new Zombie with a barrage of hits and killed it but then the golden one stabbed her shoulder with it's sword. Alex smacked it with her shield and backed away. She only had a bruise luckily, the armor had bitten off most of the attack.
Alex moved back in but again a weaker Zombie got in her way. She was quick to kill it but lost track of the golden one. That was until she felt the sword ssh at the back of her armor. Alex swung backwards, her sword making a rge arch and she managed to nd a blow on the Zombie. It jumped back though, still alive.
Alex gritted her teeth and tried once more to close the gap between her and her enemy. She found herself stumbling though as an arrow hit the back of her leg. She turned her head and saw another Skeleton on a Spider at the edges of the vilge. Great.
Alex moved towards the creature, killing four more Zombie's along the way. She reached the creature and plunged her sword into the Skeleton, blocking the Spider's maw with her shield. The Spider's attack on her shield destroyed it, Alex reeled back as it shattered in her hand.
The Skeleton was dead but the Spider jumped at her once more. Alex jumped back and an Iron Golem came in to kill the Spider. Good, now back to the original issue. Alex turned and moved back towards the golden armored Zombie.
It met her charge though and this time Alex did not move away. Fueled by her anger she sshed and stabbed wildly at the monster, and it returned all of her blows. She felt when it broke her chest pte but she did not care. She would sy the monster here and now, she would keep this vilge safe.
She did not stop until finally, after one of her swings, the Zombie disappeared, leaving behind the damaged sword and some of the armor. It's chest pte too was gone, Alex had destroyed it some point. Alex now stopped, her breathing heavy as she felt her wounds slowing her down. She had taken some considerable damage.
But she could feel the sun rising on the horizon. Alex turned to see the Iron Golems had finished off the remaining Zombies, the vilge was safe for tonight. Alex id down on the ground and took out some food, choosing to eat and rest to recover her strength. She had often found food and rest were the best way to heal.
As the sun rose the vilgers came out and began their regur daily routine. How strange, they didn't seem to react much at all to the rotten flesh ying about, the monster massacre from st night. Nothing at all, it was just business as usual.
Alex looked up at the sky as she contempted. It was like they had a limited mind. They could not comprehend the world the way Alex could. So was she truly the st of her kind? What about Steve? Where was he? Who was he? Alex had so many questions.
But for now she continued her work in building up the vilge's defenses. As she did she tried to speak with some vilgers who tried to trade with her. She noticed they seemed to use emerald's as a form of currency, but she had none on her.
She did find the vilgers had items for trade that she would like to have. Seems she would need to expand her mining operations in order to get more emeralds. But first Alex spent another night in the vilge to ensure her defenses would hold. Sure enough, no monsters came forward this time. The vilge was safe, the vilgers were safe.
Alex felt a sense of pride and accomplishment as she built a dock by the water so she could travel to and fro. She traveled back home and gathered her things. Time to work on the mine.
