Luke’s POV
“Dear diary,
Today is my first day at university. I just feel so happy and satisfied with everything, it's like I got everything I ever wanted in this wonderful world that is small like a village. Even though I feel so satisfied and happy, something is missing, or I seem to be looking out for something or someone, perhaps, and I don’t even know who, because I think I have everyone I need and love on my side.”
“My apologies for showing up late, sir. I lost my way somehow, the corridors in this school all look the same,” I heard a soft and velvety voice speaking, interrupting my chain of thoughts, and the professor who was just about to introduce himself to the class. I looked up and there was a girl who seemed to be well dressed for someone who showed up late to class. I could only see her back, and from that, I could fathom how her stance exudes confidence, and from the way she spoke, I assumed that she would be someone sophisticated.
“As if it's all our first day here and the professor is very much respected in this university, so everyone made sure to come early so that they could 'find their way around”.... ”I heard someone snicker and mumble below their breath behind me, and even though I agreed with what he was saying, I chose to keep quiet and wait to see how the professor would respond.
“That’s alright, miss, it's your first day, I assume. Just make sure to leave your dorm a bit earlier the next time in case you lose your way again. I don’t tolerate tardiness,” He said with a stern and firm voice while staring at her, and then waved her off to go find a seat.

Everyone seemed pleased with the Professor’s response, smiling or nodding faintly in agreement. She, however, didn’t seem surprised by his reaction. She simply turned around with a radiant smile, held her head high, and walked to find a seat somewhere in the middle of the room.
Everyone around me was mildly annoyed by her reaction, but not me. I was struck by the way her eyes sparkled when she smiled, and the way that smile flickered like a ghost. It was haunting. I felt a cold shiver running up my spine. I couldn’t tell what colour her eyes were, but they seemed deep and mysterious. And that ghost smile she put on to just show everyone that she is fine when she is not, or maybe she was just angry; wait, angry? It was her fault for being late to class, the professor had every right to scold he-
Then, a gentle wind which carried a soft scent of vanilla and something embedded in it swept past me, and the air around me suddenly became suffocating, no, not because I was out of breath, it's just because I wanted more of that scent, it was sweet but deadly. I couldn’t help the way my head snapped up to search for its source.
There she was.
I was struck by her beauty, her aura, her everything, and I was scared.
When she saw the look on my face, her smile turned cold. She leaned closer and whispered, “Mind if I take a seat beside you? It is the only empty one left.”
“HOLY MARY MOTHER OF JESUS”.I screamed inside.
Was it her scent?
No, maybe it was that low and coarse voice.
Or maybe …. It is the way she looked at me with those eyes.
Those eyes.
