Because at launch it drew in so much energy and mana in the attempt that it broke many of the gnomes other projects but even so all this energy only barely started the project leaving behind a spearer of copper gears and some bluish metal that to the eyes of the gnomes was seen as another example of a experiment going wrong so they moved on to other things and threw it in the scrapyard to collect dust for ages. This would have been the end if everything went on as it had. Because another gnome many ages later after failing yet again at making a potion of divinity in an attempt to gain greater power and prestige. This potion worked just as described and gave the user control and power as if they were a god but they would over time turn into crystal this is one of the reason the gnome considered this batch a failure but like I said if not for this gnome our story would of never came to life because when the potion landed in the junkyard it started to seep into the cave our little core was in and when the potion touched the core of gears and bluish metal it started to glow and seap into the core
