Chapter 2: The basics of a Magician.

Kevin was freaking out, he stood up and paced I'm a circled thinking of ways to make sense of his current situation. ",was I kidnapped by aliens...yeah no, maybe someone is playing a prank on me...but I don't think getting information injected in your head is possible...so that means I was whisked away into this tower and the only way to escape is to learn magic...or find the exit."

He did that, he walked around the labyrinth like Tower and found what was supposed to be the exit. But there was no door only runes written like a long essay that he could not read. "...do I really need to learn magic to live this place."

Of course there was no one to answer him. "...crap...what am I going to do now." He weakly sat down near a bookshelf.

He thought about some things for a moment, he was once a sixteen year old who was going to graduate and then get a job, he was not like all the students in his class that can understand a topic in a few days, actually he was dull as a wooden board.

Thinking about it, his life was actually going downhill, and he would have eventually broken down and fall into depression.

"Haaaahh, whatever let's get this over with." He turned around and then picked a book from one of the shelves. He then opened it.

"The basics of magic by Merlin?...merlin exists...I mean maybe he does, anyways let's see. Magic is a Natural force that governs all natural and supernatural phenomenon, it is a living force that enforces and dictates laws and it is also a force that values 'exchange' and 'conversation'. The other name of magic Is Mana, it is an enigmatic being that uses the law of equivalent exchange to allow humans to use spells and gain Mana. Mana would take considerable amounts of 'conversing' with magic to give you access a small amount of Mana that can increase as you increase your friendship with 'Magic'."

Kevin blinked at the page, his lips slightly parted. "Friendship... with magic?" he muttered, eyebrows twitching. “What is this, a Saturday morning cartoon?”

Still, he kept reading, eyes scanning each word slowly, carefully, as if the letters might jump off the page and slap him for mispronouncing anything. The book continued:

"To speak with Magic, one must first still the mind, open the spirit, and humbly ask for its attention. Do not command, do not demand—Magic listens to those who listen first."

Kevin sighed, dragging his hand down his face. "So, magic is a socially anxious friend who only opens up if I spill my heart out first... great.

Kevin stared at the ground for a few seconds before closing the book and keeping it by his side, then srcsthed his cheeks awkwardly. "Soo, Magic, I need your help to escape this place so can you lend a hand."

There was only silence and Kevin's body felt weak. "...do I really have to spill my heart out, I mean...no ones really here to hear me except...you I guess."

Kevin shifted uncomfortably, his hands by his side and his legs outstretched. "Well fine, from a very young age I had trouble understanding a lot of things, when my parents asked me why I was not interested in playing with other kids, I told them I was scared of them hating me, but despite my opinion they still made me do it, they didn't hate me nor did they become friends with me, we were just random children paying around."

He shifted again, his eyes slowly looking at the ground. "When I was old enough to enter middle school, all the students were nice at first but..."

  Some memories resurfaced.

[Ah Kevin why don't you join us to the arcade, it's fun.]

  [H-huh, Uh OK.]

[You don't seem to be good at this game let's try another one.]

  [OK I'll try.]

[...huh it seems you aren't good at any games, are you dull even when it comes to gaming?. I thought you failed some of the classes because you're a gamer ut it seems you're just untalented...Ah I don't meant to hurt your feelings though.]

Kevin was slightly churching his shoulders. "But at some point, they stopped talking to me and even started spreading bad things about me, things like. 'Kevin

Kevin was slightly crunching his shoulders. "But at some point, they stopped talking to me and even started spreading bad things about me, things like, 'Kevin is just slow,' or 'he brings down the group average,' and even 'he's just... weird.' At first I thought I could fix it. That if I tried harder, maybe they'd let me in again. But nothing I did ever worked."

He took a shaky breath, then chuckled bitterly. "You know what the worst part is? I started believing them. I thought maybe I was dull. Maybe I wasn't meant to fit in. That maybe the world had already decided what kind of person I’d be, and I didn’t have a say in it."

Kevin hugged his knees now, the book resting against his side like a quiet companion. “So I stopped trying. School, people, everything... I just gave up. I was surviving, not living. Maybe that’s why I ended up here... wherever here is.”

"Then in High school, I just found my mental health start to deteriorate to the point I don't even come to school that much anymore and just stayed at home, doing nothing but sleeping, eating and excreting wasted I was no different from a caged animal waiting for its demise...then yesterday when I laid on my bed, I found myself here...trapped, all alone...once more but maybe this time, there's a way out. Maybe… even if it’s just a tiny crack of light in this weird, magical prison—I can crawl toward something different."

He rested his head against the bookshelf behind him, eyes closed, letting the silence wrap around him. It wasn’t comforting, not really. But it also didn’t judge him. It just was. Like the Tower itself.

A blue light curiously floated towars Kevin and landed on his nose. Then another appeared floating towards his head and then another appeared floating close to his heart.

Then another one appeared close to his ears whispering in a foreign and mysterious language but Kevin could hear it clearly. "You are my friend, so let's treat each other well."

  It then disappeared.

Kevin’s breath caught in his throat.

He blinked slowly, eyes wide, as the last wisp of light vanished into the air like a firefly fading into twilight. His lips trembled, the whisper echoing in his head with a warmth he hadn’t felt in a long time.

  “Friend...?” he murmured.

His heart beat faster—not in fear, but in something else. Hope? Awe? Whatever it was, it was enough to make him sit up straighter. But he has a smile on his face at least.

"Well I guess that's what friends should do." With new energy he took the book and continued where he left up.

"There are three ways in which magic can converse with you. The first way is for it to touch your hand like a human does, in this type of contacts the Mana recognises your heart and allows you access to magic within your own limit, the second way is when Mana 'smiles' at you and says something in its language you can't understand and it allows you access to the understanding of the basic elements clearly, the third way is when Mana 'Hugs' you and whispers into your ear, this is a special way because it means the person has nothing to hide from Mana and has poured out all it's regrets, secrets and emotions, in this type of contacts it Is harder to learn magic because Mana will 'play' with you so in order for you to truly learn magic you would have to 'play' with it and you gain access to a different type of magic, a quite strange type of magical arts."

Then a word appeared on the middles of a page. "A magician, a being that learns magic to entertain 'the' world also known as an Unseriois magician."

Then for some strange reason the book becomes blank then returns to the first page. "A Magicians Greatest Teachings by Lokiz the trickster Aka The one titled as the 'God of Fools and Trickery'."

"Another fictional character huh...whatever let's continue." He flipped the new book.

"AHEM. Hello young Magicians, the names loki and I wrote a book. Hooray. You see some people thought it was. Ajoke but here it is this book contains all that there is to become a great trickster and Magician, you can also become a mage like Merlin after you're done, the Magician isn't really that impressive...anyways here's the first content."

Kevin chuckled ay the manner of the writing. "Basics of Magicians by Loki. Magicians are beings that wield a wand and wear a long black hat, they are beings who bring joy and expell sadness and as a Magician you should have those two objects so the first spell we will be learning is 'Conjuration' Exchanging your personal Mana to create something permanent, don't worry your Mana stays the same but you will be drained for an hour or so."

Kevin raised an eyebrow as he continued reading. "Really enigmatic fellow huh."

"In order to do that you must close your eyes and clearly imagine the object you want to conjure. Picture its size, texture, weight, even the smell if you can. Then whisper its name—not with your mouth, but with your heart. Let Magic feel your intent, your joy, your desire to create something from nothing. The first item we’ll be conjuring… is a hat. Yes, a proper magician’s hat. Pointy, tall, and terribly dramatic."
